Russell's is a great neighborhood bar. Friendly staff who know their stuff and "elevated" bar food. The chicken pot pie is some of the best I've had. It's also quiet and not annoying, as long as a game isn't on. When games are on, expect a sports bar atmosphere. Great casual spot. read more

Just moved into the neighborhood a week ago and I've already decided this is our "go to" restaurant/bar! This place is phenomenal!! We must have tried half the food on the menu and each dish was as good as the last! The owner Joe introduced himself and welcomed us to the neighborhood. He was really nice, and chit chatted with us when he had time in between making some awesome cocktails. He really made us feel at home in this new city. The other patrons were also really great. Lame place. The bar itself is cool, but the clientele is horrible. A bunch of snitty young professionals who can afford the neighborhood, zero actual sense of community. Stingy bartenders never offer a free drink or shot, regardless of loyal patronage or for your birthday...a bunch of wooden planks run the place. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

My boyfriend and I live nearby and this is our go-to neighborhood bar. They make great cocktails and have a good selection of beer and even wine on tap! I also love the retro fridge, trophy collection and garage door. It isn't a dive, but it's not pretentious either. Great place to watch a sports game! read more

This place is great. I'm not sure if it's the neighborhood or not, but it tends to attract nice, respectful patrons, even when they are imbibing. It's one thing I despise about most bars, the idiots who are mean or obnoxious drunks. The staff is great, very attentive and friendly without being phony or fake, and my favorite is a simple shot of Laphroaig and a beer (not to be enjoyed together!). Rude Rude Rude. The owner was rude about having a temporary valid government issues photo ID. I understand that it may be against your policy but there is no need to be a rude ass D about it. He rudely offered to make it right by offering a petty free drink the next time we visit. We give places one chance and that is it. We will not be returning. read more

Russell's offers a fun neighborhood atmosphere and fantastic food and cocktail options. We stumbled in here the first time about a year ago. It's now a somewhat regular stop. Their Russell's Old Fashioned is also on the happy hour menu and is fantastic. What's most impressive is perhaps the plating of the food. This review is for about a month ago. Stopped in on a very warm Saturday afternoon for happy hour and were not disappointed. It was a little quiet when we arrived close to 4:00 but was revving up. Service was great, atmosphere was cool with a lot to look at, and the food (cheese plate, toast, slider) was fantastic. And it was nice and cool inside. Sitting here again, as I have soooo many nights in the past few months, it's time to stop being lazy and write a review. I am tempted to leave a horrible review (kidding) because it's so busy that I can't even get a prime spot at the bar to watch Joe, Ashley, Collin and Mara do their magic! It's true, this is the perfect neighborhood bar; so much so I come here frequently and live nowhere near this neighborhood. Yes, it's worth taking two buses to come here! The drinks: always local beers on tap, great wine, and the COCKTAILS! These guys are true mixologists and take pride in every drink they make. AND the food! Those talented guys and gals hustling in the tiny back kitchen whip up some deliciousness! And of course, homemade pie by the beautiful Ashley, who you'll see managing this packed crowd with finesse and speed as she never lets your drink go dry. Russell's is a small, cozy gem tucked away on Stone Ave. The food is excellent and they do quite a bit with a minimalist kitchen, but they don't have an enormous menu. The pretzels are possibly the best I've had in Seattle and the meatballs are also fantastic. Order 2 or 3 of the items and you'll have a great meal. The cocktails are quite good as well. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and they have a garage door that opens on nice days to let in the breeze. read more

Great spot to get a drink or small bites. Owner and staff are very friendly. Prices are reasonable and the food & drink selection is always tasty. It is pretty small, so probably not good for large groups. The choices can get pretty slim when trying to get a good drink on Stone Way between THE WHALE WINS and 45th Street, so this is a welcome little oasis. Definitely recommend it. read more

Great service! The food was delicious - three of us split the sliders, beet salad, brussel sprout panzanella and a pretzel. The wine on tap wasn't very good but the cab blend was perfect! We stayed several hours talking and catching up without feeling pressured to leave, and also had the right amount of attention from our servers. read more

I've been here a couple times already, and every time is just more and more fun. The service is always real fast, and the owner and staff are always extremely helpful. The spot is super cozy and the perfect place to impress a date. It's never a dull moment and mostly a packed house because it's quickly becoming everyone's favorite neighborhood bar.
