I liked that they have some onsite food options, but it seems like you can also pick something up and bring it over. There were also plenty of pups there and they all seemed well behaved! I used to love this place when it first opened, but recently they have definitely become a "kid Nazi" establishment - harshly getting on parents' cases about "MAKING SURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE NEXT TO YOU AT ALL TIMES!", with one particular unpleasant employee basically trolling the grounds, brow beating people if their kids weren't attached to their parents' hip. Me and a friend got told three separate times this about our children who went off to pet a dog...but we're welcome by the dog's owners and we're bothering no one around. On top of that, I went to order two kid's drinks - something they specifically serve - for my 3 and 5 year old, and their bar was backed up by 10-15 people...so I told my girls to wait back at the table rather than jam up the bar area since over a dozen people were waiting for their slow bar staff to get people what they ordered. When my girls left and then ran back to me, this troll of an employee started barking at me about my kids needing to be next to me at all times. Hmm...let's see...at that moment, THEY WERE! Or were you referring to them not staying at the table when I asked them to go back with the group I was with - have you not ever interacted with a 3-5 year old child...they don't exactly listen on the first, second, or one hundredth try. Or, Ms. Obnoxiously Nasty...did you want them jamming up your already backed up bar area while your bar staff continued not to keep up with orders? If you don't want kids running around - simple fix...become 21+. It'll tank your establishment, and you'll be out of business in 3 months...but it'll accomplish what you appear to want - no kids running around. If; however, you want to continue to cater to families - and continue to serve kid food and beverages - maybe tell Ms. I've Never Interacted with a Kid Before to chill the hell out. I wanted to get her name, but she conveniently didn't show her face after getting "looks" thrown her way for being an absolute c u next Tuesday. If you hate kids so much, find a different job...maybe a become a coroner's assistant. The family clientele don't need your type around...we could all do without all your attitude. Phinney Station has been open for about a year now and we've been several times. It really filled a niche that was missing in the area which is just a casual place to meet up with friends/family/grab a quick drink/etc. We've been quite a few times and while it isn't my absolute favorite in terms of drinks or food, it definitely has a place in our rotation. Phinney station is a place where a lot of different groups will have a good time. There's a semi-fenced area for the smaller kids. Some arcade games. Cozy fire pits. There are kid friendly and also more adult friendly N/A beverages. It tends to be pretty busy/packed/loud so probably not a spot to try and read, work, or play a game for the most part. But, otherwise it's a great casual meet-up spot. They've expanded to two permanent food trucks with lots of great carry out on the same block (Neapolitan pizza from Cornuto, fried chicken from Chicken Supply; or even pie from Pie Bar). We've had good experiences with the food here although it's always a bit of a wait. read more

Went here Friday after 5 PM. I would leave extra time to find parking if you're driving. There's a lot of seating upstairs and downstairs. Didn't get to try the food trucks, but they seem to have a pretty good selection . My partner got a beer and I had a really good slushy. they had three or four different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic slushies.We got our drinks right away and got a nice seat upstairs. My husband and I first found Phinney Station during the Greenwood car show over the summer. They weren't technically open, but they did have a mobile beer truck onsite for the car show. We loved the vibe of the place and looked forward to visiting when it was open! Well yesterday was the day we finally made it back! Well LOVED it! They have great beer options (a few of our favorite breweries: Structures & Ravenna!!) And if you aren't a beer connoisseur like me, they have the whole gamut of options!! Including (and not limited to) cocktails, mimosa bar and slushies (I think at least 6 slushy options!) Perfect spot to meet friends or family. (Family friendly so they do have non alcoholic options as well!) We sat upstairs on the deck. It was a colder fall day, so the overhead heaters and gas fire pits on the tables were a nice (and needed) touch! I was actually surprised with the amount of seating indoors and out! This area of the neighborhood has a lot of families and having an outdoor establishment that serves kid friendly frozen non-alcoholic drinks, has outdoor games (recently removed), pinball machines, food truck, etc makes it wonderful for whole families to hang out. Recently there seems to be a new manager who does not like children. This person seemed grumpy with our large group of 10+ adults and kids (who were purchasing plenty of beverages from them) and kept making disgruntled remarks and yelling at the kids. The bartenders downstairs are great and very friendly to all. There are plenty of quiet bars and 21+ only places around. I have no pets or kids but enjoyed my experience here. I live in Ballard but we come up to the Phinney/Greenwood neighborhood from time to time to do our weekly walk. It is definitely a neighborhood space and they knew their target market. All the little touches that definitely cater to families with children. The low restroom door handle, stool in the restroom so a child can reach the sink and large changing table. We didn't make it upstairs we sat outside at a picnic table. My friend and I don't mind being around animals or kids. There are some yard games outside and a fire pit. We were there on a nice weather day, curious to see how many people visit when the weather hets cooler and wetter. The outside is well covered but hope the fall and winter months don't effect business too much. There is a Mexican/Asian fusion food truck for food. They seem well organized, have buzzers so you know your order is ready. Food was decent my friend got the fish and chips which cane with a side of caramelized pineapples slaw. I had the Bulgogi steak salad. I would agree the slushy drinks are on the sweeter side but $12 seemed like a decent price for them, and they have a list of other non slushy cocktails and beer and liquor to select from. I didn't think the wait time line for drinks was too slow for how busy they were on a Monday. Staff were friendly. This place is such a vibe! I'm glad to finally check it out on a bustling Friday night. Its design is like a Barbie Dreamhouse with all the hot pink trim throughout. They have 2 food trucks/pods there right now. Culina being one of them which serves up exceptional food! I love their Smashburgers, Garlic Fries, and Polenta Fries that is an award winner and it's obvious why. Keep in mind that Culina is only here a few times a week. Phinney Station was very lively on a Friday night with both adults and kids present. So, yes, this place is family-friendly. There is ample tables and seating on two levels that are basically open-air, plus a few pinball machines upstairs, and an outstanding bar where I ordered a refreshing Frosé. How I heard of this place: Having been under construction for months, and on our walking path, we witnessed the space going up and many in the neighborhood eagerly awaited its opening. Type of cuisine: A food cart serving Mexican food is available at the patio. Inside, "fancy" slushies, some containing alcohol, a couple not. Ambiance: A fun outdoor space, turf covered patio with umbrella seating and space heaters (for the coming cold weather), as well as a small turf space for lawn games exist outside. Follow the line indoors, where open air is welcomed on warm summer days, to a bar-inspired seating area under the cover of a roof, which doubles up as the floor to the upstairs covered patio loft. Upstairs, patrons will also find a lounge area for indoor seating, alongside pinball machines. The space is very new and modern and carries a cool aesthetic. What I ordered: Not being people who consume alcohol, we selected two of their three non-alcoholic options - strawberry lemonade and watermelon. The third was a margarita flavor, which seems to be made with non-alcoholic tequila, a flavor that wasn't at all one any of us enjoyed. The watermelon was powerfully sweet in a fake watermelon way, similar to a watermelon lollipop, but with ten times the sugar. The strawberry-lemonade, too was overly sweet, but at least had a hint of tartness with the lemon flavor. What I loved: That you are able to sample flavors prior to committing to one. Came here on a Thursday evening with 2 of my friends. The wait to order is long but not too bad. The atmosphere is great, very fun and friendly. Reminds me of Barbie's dream house from the movie. There's a #6 vs #10 college football game on, but the TV's solely feature NASCAR... An adults only area would go a long way, often feels like a day care. Food trucks are really good. Love this location- a sister business to Ridgewood taphouse. The vibe here is lovely, with lots of airy open spaces. They now have 12$ cocktails and pretty decent ones at that. Well made and definitely 10x better than cocktails at most other places like Joli. Lots of beer wine too. They have picnic benches, standing tables with fire pits, small seating and a large area upstairs with nice lighting and music. There is food available as well with a decent menu. Like many others, I'd been eagerly awaiting the opening of this place as the construction continued. I finally had a chance to check it out and was pretty disappointed. It has a very cool set-up, from a second story deck, turf/lawn standing areas, fire pits, and lawn game area. However, that was unfortunately marred by the ~50 children roaming around. Specifically, climbing on the cornhole, running into you, and screaming/crying. There were no open tables and the standing areas were taken for strollers. The line for drinks was off the property, onto the sidewalk. As such, there was a significant wait time, even after ordering, for just two draft beers. The wait time grows further if you order any of the overpriced but mediocre cocktails. Fortunately, after the significant wait time for drinks and the average wait time for food, a table opened up upstairs. We ordered burritos, because $5 for a singular taco sounded crazy. They were tasty, but were notably smaller than your average truck burrito yet more expensive still. Lastly, from what we could find, there is only one bathroom. In summary, if you like to wait and have money to blow, this might be the place for you. read more
