I came by here early on the weekend to pick up a cinnamon roll to go. When I got in, they were already packaging up the cinnamon rolls in to go boxes and bags, so I think a lot of people must just come for that. The roll is huge--the picture doesn't do it justice. Definitely big enough to share! The roll was pretty good. They do charge .25 for the takeout box, and another .25 for a takeout bag. I didn't ask for a bag, and would've skipped getting one had I known there would be a fee. So bring your own bag, or just make it clear that you don't need one. read more

Scrambled eggs with spinach and mushrooms brought a healthy balance, gluten and dairy free, while the fruit bowls added a splash of color and freshness. Coming from the Eastside looking for great breakfast haunts across the bridge. Picked Wild Mountain from some recommendations from a Seattle foodie group. I'd give the ambiance an A, and the food a solid B/B+. Cute venue in an older style home, with some obvious pride in their offerings. I don't think there is anything unique about their menu, but a great variety of standards, and what they do, they do very well. Their cinnamon rolls are phenomenal! Hot, with a well balanced icing and a good fresh yeast and spice. 10/10. The eggs Benedict, I would say, was very consistent. Perfectly poached eggs and scratch-made Hollandaise. But thin Canadian bacon, on a Bays muffin, and the Hollandaise had no lemon (personal preference). Fruit cup was great, but the potato cake was not at all creamy and was loaded with garlic. I've never eaten in person and only ordered via DoorDash. Their hash is generous and it feels like I'm at a local farmers market. Their potato cakes are delicious and I often order extra to go with my eggs Benedict. The customer service over the phone is always outstanding and I appreciate the care with each order. The potato cakes are basically flat topped garlicky mashed potatoes, and the cinnamon roll was soft and served warm. I also loved how they had house made strawberry jam for your toast option! This was our 1st order (delivery), breakfast. We're only a few blocks away and the food arrived tepid, not even warm. The price was high, imo. The breakfast potatoes seemed like they were leftover mashed potatoes formed into a patty and fried. Not good. I asked for hard eggs, they were medium at best. Why even give me the choice on how they are cooked? The hollandaise sauce was not like any I've ever had and didn't taste good. The fruit was not overly fresh. We won't order from them again. My friends took me here while I was visiting Seattle and I enjoyed it quite a bit. They were busy but we got a table immediately, and the wait wasn't long at all. Our server was super friendly and personable and always made sure our waters were topped off. The food was fantastic! I got the Cure All Mac and Chz with bacon and mushrooms and it was so so good. It was also a huge portion so I had lunch for the next day, which was great for me since I was travelling that day and didn't have time to go out for food. I also got one of the baked treats that was a special that day, and it was also delicious. The overall vibe of the restaurant was cozy and comfy. All parties need to be present to be seated. It gets crowded but you are able to get seated fairly fast. We sat at a two top in the bar and enjoyed the Piggy Patty Pile French toast and Greta Garbo with two seasonal alcoholic beverages. Greta Garbo is their gluten free Benedict and so delicious I didn't leave anything on the plate. Service was attentive and kind. Would for sure come back to check out their other menu items. Tips: would be great for earlier before the crush but they move tables quickly. Stairs would be an issue for accessibility folks and they have street parking :) read more

We ordered take out and got the southern breakfast burrito. The burrito was fine, it came with a lot of eggs and some chicken sausage and cheese and chiles. It also come with a side of refried beans, sour cream and salsa. The burrito and bean was definitely on the bland side as well. It definitely needed salt. Came here for brunch Saturday morning (If you come early enough, they have early bird specials before 9am FYI) We got a cinnamon roll to start and ordered a couple of breakfast entrees. The cinnamon roll is fantastic! Highly recommend. B.A.T. Bennie - this is a Benedict with bacon, avocado and tomato. The bennies come with a single garlic mashed potato cake and a side of fruit (kind of wish they'd come with two potato cakes like their other entrees, but oh well). The hollandaise sauce is on the lemony side if you like that. The bacon was good. Egg yolk was pretty runny (I asked for it to be cooked medium, they said they are all cooked medium - so was surprised by the runniness since I saw some review complain about the yolks being too hard). Biggest complaint with this was the quality of avocado used. One Benny had completely brown avocado, some of the pieces were bordering black and I had to pick it off. The other Benny was on the brown side but I ate it anyway. I would think they would inspect the avocado being used but I guess not. La Cabana - this is the baked breakfast casserole served weekends only. It was pretty tasty, but unfortunately it was served lukewarm and on the cold side. We asked for it to be reheated again which they accommodated, but it was still not very hot. The como bread is a great toast option! Overall, I think the menu is pretty epic with tons of options I'd like to try, and the cinnamon rolls are super yummy, but the brunch entrees seem to be hit or miss with quality control and execution which I was a bit disappointed with. read more

During the holidays stopped by to give it a try. Busy Wednesday mid-morning and 40 minutes wait since we were a party of 5. Menu variety is pretty good, many things seemed appealing. Unfortunately the ingredients are not fresh, most of the items served are commercial grade (Sausage, salsa, refried beans, etc), so it doesn't help the flavor profiles nor textures. But the coffee (drip) was extremely good! And I heard the cinnamon rolls homemade over the weekend are really good. Service was excellent, fast, friendly and effective. The Purdy Girl scramble (homemade pesto scrambled with tomatoes, spinach & mozzarella cheese) is a particular favorite with really great flavor. The potato cake is still out of this world delicious. I wish they offered espresso, but if you enjoy a bold drip, they're ready for you. (And there are nearby places for your espresso needs.) I always saw Wild Mountain Cafe while driving on 85th and had it bookmarked for a few years. We finally checked it out during winter a while back and have returned a few times. It's on a busy road, but you can find street parking fairly easily. The restaurant was originally a house, and they have mismatched chairs, cups, utensils, etc. - like you'd find in your grandma's house. It's very cute and cozy. You feel like you're eating in someone's living room, which has a certain charm. Onto the food... I like the cinnamon roll and the fact that it's not drenched in frosting. They do run out, so I'd suggest going earlier in the morning if you have your heart set on one. I also enjoy their garlic potato cakes - it's garlicy, creamy, but crispy on the outside. The rest of the food we've tried has been pretty average. I'm not a fan of their drip coffee, but I do love all their different/random coffee mugs. read more

I have food allergies to dairy, onions, and garlic. They are careful about this, get it right every time without complaint, and even with everything left out the food is extremely good. My husband praised the hot cocoa, and I thought the apparently house-made strawberry preserves were a stand-out, as well as the bacon/spinach/mushroom scramble. Eating at Wild Mountain Cafe kind of feels like Thanksgiving Dinner at your aunt's, for better or worse. It's in an old house with lots of mismatched tables and chairs (some of which look very uncomfortable) crammed in. It's both cozy and a little claustrophobic, but has "neighborhood joint" vibes that I am all for. There are lots of options on the menu and I want to try them all! No espresso, but the drip is fine. We got a big Greek Salad (which was decent; I am always a fan of any big salad I can find) and a scramble (perfectly serviceable). As everyone has mentioned, the potato cakes are a highlight (basically they're garlic mashed potatoes in cake form). Service was courteous and fast. They did forget our cinnamon roll but adjusted our check accordingly when we pointed it out--we were too full anyway! They look great though and we'll be back for one! The cafe is some stairs, by the way, so might be tough for some folks. 1st just beware that this charming restaurant has a long flight of stairs so is not handicapped accessible. The disadvantage of converting a lovely old house into a restaurant. That said it was definitely worth the effort. Funky atmosphere, friendly service and good food. I had the Joe 'Shmoe. Excellent bacon (and I'm a bacon snob). Eggs cooked perfectly and the mashed potato-roasted garlic cakes were delicious. My husband had the mac and cheese. He pronounced it not the best he'd ever had but very good especially with whole cloves of toasted garlic. The coffee is good and she never let our cups get empty. A nice cozy restaurant in a renovated old Seattle home! We were looking for a traditional breakfast spot on Google and chose Wild Mountain. As expected, there was a bit of a wait on a Sunday morning for a party of 3. There's seating and a covered area to wait outside, so bundle up on a cold day. We didn't see much of the interior as we were seated near the front of the restaurant, but it was decorated and furnished like they're welcoming some old friends to eat. I really enjoyed that. Service was nice and quick. The food was delicious and I loved the garlic potato patty. A new potato-breakfast side than hash browns or home-style fries. My third time for breakfast. First time I found it cute and a fun setup in an old house. Rooms broken up into eating areas. Second time I'm thinking still fun but the noise level hit me. Today...was seated in a room towards the back on the right. A smallish room with three tables for 2 and 2 tables for 4. If you're noise sensitive this is not the place for you...however I've only been there for breakfast. Small space between tables. We were seated promptly and menus in hand. The food delivery was slowish...the place was busy. Like their mashed potato patties. For folks with any mobile issues...there are some steep steps to go up.
