Food-5 Service-4 Ambiance-4 We came here for the first time for lunch. The menu is pretty big. It's a little confusing though. It was hard to choose something. Everything looks good. We ordered the carne asada (nicely cooked and flavorful) and an order of three tostones with chicken and coleslaw on top. It was a big order and I took a lot home. The food was excellent and tasted very authentic. The service was ok. We had to go ask for the check. But, the restaurant is very small (seats 25)! And the way that it's set up, the waitress isn't going to see you unless she comes out to the dining room The kitchen, register, bathroom and bar are in the back. The waitress was nice though. Parking might be an issue. There are spots right in front on the street, but not a lot of them. Maybe try parking in the back.

The food was so good and well priced. I got the pupusa and the breakfast platter. Perfect hangover breakfast.

My hubby and I were trying to figure out where to eat as we were on our way to Home Depot in NMB, he told me to look at this place's menu as he had been here for lunch before. From the outside, the place looks very unassuming and based on some of the reviews I saw, it seemed mixed. I haven't had pupusas in a long time and decided to give it a shot. We were so glad to come here, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and it was very cheap. We ended up taking food home because we didn't realize how big the plates were. This will definitely be in our rotation of restaurants we visit in a monthly basis. Highly recommend the stuffed plantains, it was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Only downside is that parking isn't great. There's only street parking available and it's a heavily trafficked area

Simple but awesome menu to choose from

The food was amazing Yus was even better experience treated kindly attentive left an everlasting feeling to come back not for just the food which was delicious but the service which was out of this world !!! The restaurant was lovely too

I decided to patronize this restaurant believing I would have good typical Honduran food. It was a disappointment. the soup was the only hot food. The rest was cold. Small and cold tortillas. I ordered 3 pupusas to go. I saw my mother eating a black stuff. I asked her what was it. She said it was the pupusa I had brought her. It was burnt. Overpriced too, $65.00 total for that horrible mess. 18% gratuity included on bills over $50.00. In addition, a fee charge for credit card usage, no written notice anywhere. Service as expected. I'll never ever return to this place and I certainly do not recommend it.

DISAPPOINTED! We've order and dined here 3 times since my last review. I'm so sad how much this placed has changed. From waiting for the food for over an hour when ordering, the constant "they ran out of a certain food" to finally paying a good amount for half the amount of food they once made and extremely burnt and salty food. I unfortunately will not order from here anymore. But I'm truly sad because this was once a great place to eat.

Food was great and very affordable! 3 of us ate lunch for $25 total. Service was a little slower paced but that's just the atmosphere and culture of this type of place I think.. relaxed and casual. I had the pupusa quesillo and a tamale con pollo. Both were generous portions and out of this world tasty. I love the slaw that comes with the pupusa. Our server was a sweetheart. I will definitely be back!

This place was awesome. Got a cheese pupusa and a baleada. The combo was affordable, so I ended up getting the flan and a café con leche. Definitely will come back and bring my friends.

The worst place to buy soup

This is the worst Mondongo soup ever bad customer service the lady is very rude when you try to explain to her that she gave you just grease ask for a refund she says you have to drive to her and bring it back even though I let her know I live far she said she doesn't care worst place ever

We came in on a Friday and it was pretty busy but no wait and we got seated right away. Although the restaurant is casual it is super cute. It is very spacious and has a beautiful bar. It is great for small or large groups. And even great to go by yourself or with children. Once seated we were greeted with their nice waitress who answered all our questions and gave great recommendations. I love that there was a wide variety on the menu for food and drinks. And they had lunch specials and weekly deals. We shared their strong cuban coffee since we knew it was super strong. It was so delicious and perfect sweetness. To start, we went with their beef potato balls, and recommended empanadas de ropa vieja. Each came with two. The beef potato balls were huge and came out with a red sauce. It was fried perfectly and had lots of flavor. The empanadas though were my favorite. The crispy outer empanadas were divine. The shredded beef inside was so flavorful and moist and went well with their yummy green sauce. We loved the sauce so much we asked for more with our meal. For lunch, I had the beef skewers. It came with a side which I got black beans and it also came with some yummy plantains. The two skewers were super filling, cooked just right, and juicy. The person I came with got their cubano sandwich, which I believe is a must if you want a sandwich. It was filled with goodness, large portion, and came with fried plantain chips. Yum! Pricing is affordable. Service was excellent. The wait to get our check took awhile but we had to wait for our driver anyway. I can't wait to visit Miami again to come back here.

The Cassava Muchines were also great. Lightly fried with a creamy filling. We also tried the purple corn dough empanadas with goat ragu, tamarind and dabs of labneh and the pollo empanadas. For mains, the Cangrejada con patacon was excellent with blue crab in a tomato base - the dish looked like a work of art. The Cerdito & Llapinagacho was very good - smoked tenderloin pork with daikon, big corn and picked onions. For dessert, try the banana rum cake - it was SOOO good - gelato with cocoa nibs, and salted toffee. The cake had a slight smokey char to it, amazing. I thought the food was inventive and artistically presented - attention to detail. The dishes were unique All the flavors singularly came out, but were also well-blended. Cotoa is a gem. Service was excellent and very nice atmosphere.

We were very welcomed walking through the door. We were offered seating inside or out. The Floridians feel the weather is too muggy to sit outside, we were more than happy to do so. A word of caution, you are on a very busy street when you sit outside, so there is a good deal of traffic noise. To begin, they bring out a plate of four types of bread, along with a tray with green and black olives and a red tangy spread. This was quite good. We started out with an empanada appetizer. You have a choice of four kinds, we went with spinach. Before the appetizer arrived, the waitress brought out a plate of bread and olives. We are off to an excellent start. When the empanadas showed up, we were provided 8 cups of dips, six of which were different toppings to put on the appetizer. We tried them all. From barbecue sauce to salt, hummus, and a tomato based sauce, we had fun tasting the different flavors. For the entree, both of us went with the Outside skirt steak. We went this route as it was recommended by the waitress as one of their more signature dishes. We went with it prepared, medium. A short time later, the meal arrived, both of which were the 14 ounce portion. They do offer a larger portion if you're super hungry. The steak was slightly overcooked, but not enough to ruin the mood. The steak was flavorful, but a bit on the fatty side. I get the fat as it adds flavor so it really was not an issue. The meals come à la carte. So we ordered steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries. Overall good experience. A place I would return to again.
