Rustic is a great restaurant and bar! The workers are very kind, and their food.... Oh my lord! So good!!! Me and my family walked inside yesterday and the bar was full! It was obviously popular! You find your own seat and the place is small so she saw us. We sat down and less that 2 minutes later she was asking us what we wanted to drink if we were ready. She was so kind. The kids meals have original options but better than from a box. They are only $5! I would highly recommend the 3 cheese Mac and Cheese! It was SOOOO good and delicious. My partner and I went here for dinner awhile ago and both got different specialty Mac n Cheeses. The bowls were large--was very filling and I had a second portion to take home. No complaints about the meal. When we came in we were told to seat ourselves and the service was all timely. Was there last evening for fish fry.. we went earlier in the evening and it was not crowded, but you wouldn't have known it the way the waitresses were frantically were running around, doing ?, slow to get to take orders, and rushing the patrons when they finally did get to taking orders of the 3 tables that were there.. our fish arrived before salads and soup, a pet peeve of mine.. fish was barely warm, and overpriced.. soup and salad plates weren't removed when fish finally got there... lots of slamming and banging from the bar area and kitchen ... overall an unpleasant experience.. read more

We ate here on Labor Day. Sat at the bar and had poor service from the bartender who couldn't even greet us. We had empty drinks and were never offered another. Food was mediocre, BLT was pretty small, bbq pork was fine, nothing great. Their fries were actually really good. In Wisconsin, I always expect that a Bloody Mary comes with a sidecar - not here. First time here for an early fish fry. Food was good, not a fan of the breading on the fish, best potato pancakes and side of applesauce. However, the place clearly isn't observing a worldwide pandemic. Serving Staff not masked, kitchen staff and not one patron masked. Restaurant taking absolutely no visible precautions. Tables less than 6 ft from one another. No reduction in seating than pre-pandemic. Why did we eat here? Place wasn't crowded when we arrived so we felt it was ok. But as we ate, it became clear that there was no social distancing. Owner clearly doesn't give a care about the staff or patrons safety (the three staff that took care of a very full house ran their butts off). Dirty tables sat that way for over 15 mins or more while people congregating waiting to be sat. Again no social distancing. Wondering why Wisconsin Covid cases are reaching 4,000 a day? Clearly the almost older crowd here don't care. Covid who? Unfortunately won't be back until this is over. read more

This place is really cool! They have Sriracha sauce on every table and enough taxidermied animals to make any red-blooded American feel at home. The place is a little small, but there was more than enough room for our party of 5 to feel comfortable. They even had a booster seat for our 2-year-old, which I was not expecting from a place that looks a little rough. Overall the food was pretty good, but I thought our "stone oven pizza" was a little week. Ingredients weren't bad, but the crust was cracker-like. Maybe that works for some people, but I was expecting a little bit better from "stone oven pizza" or whatever they hype it up to be. That said, it was better than the frozen pizza you get from most bars, so it still scores some points! Our table also ordered a guacamole burger and a bleu cheese burger and those both got good reviews. I'll definitely stop here again next time I'm in Eagle! read more

We live right down the street from Coyote Canyon which is a great thing because there's not many food choices out in Eagle but Coyote is a savior out here. They always had quality reliable food before the menu change. The food now is still pretty good from what I've tried but they're trying to compete with the coffee shop across the street, which isn't working. People go there for fish, pizza, and beer, but now people are caught off guard by the menu changes. It would've been better if they added maybe some of the new things while keeping the majority of the old. The service is usually pretty good and fast. I've got no complaints on the service or the food really it's just not as fun as it used to be to go there. read more

Having read a writeup of the Coyote Canyon Grille in the Waukesha Freeman newspaper, we were eager to try their fish fry, which the writeup emphasized as being particularly good. At the bar, while waiting for a table, we had "Virgin Marys," that is, a Bloody Mary without the vodka. They were skillfully made by the bartender, and well spiced. They came with an unusual skewer of extras, which included a pickle spear, a half-stick of string cheese, 2 miniature summer sausages, and an onion. We started our meal with an appetizer of "Smothered Mushrooms," which came with some herb stuffing, and covered with melted cheese. They were above good, but not great. My companion had the baked codfish, and was surprised at the small size of the 2 pieces of cod which came on her plate. But she said the cod was good, as were the sweet potato fries she ordered. I had the fried codfish, which came as 3 relatively large pieces (this sparked the comparison between the sizes of the pieces of cod) of nicely deep-fried codfish, which were covered with a thin, not overpowering, batter. The cod was as tasty as any I've had. For my "with-it" I ordered the "Haystack onion rings," which were deep-fried and NOT over-salted, a big plus. The tartar sauce served with the fish was (according to the Freeman article) made in-house, to a private recipe. It was better than the usual standard offering. But it was served in the usual standard little plastic cup. The apple sauce accompanying the fish fry was apparently made in-house also--It contained chunks of apple, and was tasty and well-spiced. But again, it was served in the usual standard little plastic cup. The other fish fry standards were pretty ordinary: A small plastic cup of rather generic cole slaw and a slice of perfectly ordinary store-bought half-rye bread, which came with two little plastic containers of butter. The waitstaff was attentive and prompt. We saw other tables receiving the same degree of attention. The noise level was far too high for a restaurant, but this establishment is essentially a bar that serves food, so they get just a little leeway there. There was no music piped in to worsen the noise level, thank goodness. It would have been nice to speak with my table companion without having to repeat myself. Decor has been mentioned in a previous review. It is aggressively "Southwestern," with stuffed animals and hides on the wall, wood paneling everywhere, cowboy boots hanging from the ceiling, etc, etc. I'm of two minds about the place: The Freeman article quoted the owner/chef as wanting to show off her skills, which would indicate a desire for higher quality food. But, along with the nice food, why cut corners on portion sizes, and why oh why serve the accompaniments in those nasty little plastic cups. And while I'm at it, why not get rye bread that's worthy of the apple sauce and tartar sauce and nice fish? Price for the 2 of us, for fish fry and one drink each, was $40. That's just a bit more than you might expect to spend on a Friday night fish fry, but the Coyote Canyon Grille is trying to be upscale, and partway succeeding. Pros: Good appetizer. Nice fish, nice tartar sauce and apple sauce. Nice "with-its." The waitstaff and bar staff knew their jobs. Neutral: The decor. Nice if you like that sort of thing. 'Way overdone if you don't. (Personally I can take it or leave it.) Cons: You're trying hard to be a "nice" place, but you're missing out on the little things. If you have to charge a bit more to be the sort of place you're aiming at, then do it. Portion control could use a little work. AND GET THE NOISE LEVEL DOWN PLEASE!!! (I had to shout that to make myself heard.) Bottom line: We'll try the place again, and not on a Friday night. read more

This restaurant is just mediocre. It took 20 minutes to get us two sandwiches with only two other tables in the place. This would've been fine but we sat there for a good portion of the time with empty drinks. Once we got the food, it tasted good. Nothing to write home about, but it was a decent amount of food for the money and you could tell that they used quality ingredients for the sandwich. Our server didn't check in with us until after we both were finished, and I'm a slow eater. Being a server myself, I guess I have higher standards but checking in with a table doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Overall I would say the food is decent but the service is just eh. My husband and I enjoyed our meal here over a year ago and looked forward to returning. We were staying at the Eagle Center B & B nearby and stopped in on a Saturday in October. My husband enjoyed the craft beer selection and ordered the pizza. I had the brisket. Both meals were exceptional and just as good as we remembered. Someone in the kitchen really knows what they're doing. What also makes this place a standout is the friendliness of the bartenders. I have to especially thank our bartender, Joanie, who went out of her way to find the channel for the Cubs game for us. Oh, and also, the cleanest washroom ever! Last weekend we visited Old World Wisconsin, and stopped at Coyote Canyon for lunch on the way home. On Sundays they have a special -- buy one pizza, get one free. Since the kids were in the mood for pizza, that worked out well. The pizza is homemade and baked in a stone oven. We ordered their DeLux pizza (and added Canadian Bacon) and also a plain cheese pizza for the kids. The crust was fairly crispy and everybody liked that. Coyote Canyon had a good selection of bottled beer. I had one of their Bloody Marys which was spicy without being too spicy, and came with a garnish including a stalk of asparagus and some string cheese.
