The rooms are clean, the check in was easy, the mattress was so comfortable! I wake up every morning with my back hurting even when I'm home, this mattress was great, I didn't wake up with back pain, I'm going to have to get this for my house. The hotel has clearly undergone a thoughtful renovation, retaining a charming, unique character while incorporating modern amenities. The rooms themselves were delightful. The towels were incredibly plush and soft, a luxurious touch I particularly appreciated. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, providing a restful and rejuvenating sleep. While the pillows were ok, another option might enhance the experience for some guests. This is a minor detail, however, and didn't detract significantly from my overall enjoyment. Overall, I'd wholeheartedly recommend your hotel to others seeking a blend of modern comfort and unique character. The check-in process was super easy to call or book online and they send you a code to get to your room so we don't need to deal with anyone As there is no front desk here. Very cute little motel. Not luxurious, but well appointed and nicer than the generic chains. The decor is upgraded. Convenient location and easy to work with. They were clean and comfortable. We took advantage of the outdoor area in the center courtyard and had a glass of wine and played cards in the evening, very nice. read more

The Buckskin Motel Which is conveniently located right on State Highway 260 in Heber Arizona has been the most dog friendly and people friendly place that I've ever stayed. It's a family owned business that is so comfy and cozy and even provides a barbecue grill for you to make your dinner in the center courtyard. The manager Janice and I have actually become friends as we are both animal lovers. I have been in between houses selling a house in Pinal County and then trying to close quickly on a house here in Navajo County, so I have been laid over for several weeks with my service animals. Unfortunately, I lost one of my dogs after taking him to the vet within the 1st few days and discovered that he could no longer stand up on his rear legs, Due to a Cushing's problem for many years, it thyroid and adrenal problem for many years and also due to old age and losing his ability to ambulate any longer. (he was a large collie mix from the Katrina storm rescue) It was the sad part of the journey, but the rest of the journey has been so warm and friendly. The motel manager has gone out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Especially since I am traveling with dogs in a pack; Do you have a bit of a different mentality than they do individually and tend to bark much more. They are currently not working and have acquired a "pack mentality"....They love to bark and get attention from other people staying at the hotel. I try to keep them as quiet as possible, but once a person asks if they can pet them of course they are all grappling for attention. This quaint motel is family run and is so clean & comfortable that I have no apprehensions about having sold my house during the Covid Pandemic, nor have I had any apprehensions and staying here. I have observed how they are so thorough at disinfecting all of the rooms in every single corner and in each individual inch! We are getting ready to our close on our new home and getting ready to begin to sterilize that atmosphere and then due a complete gut on the home and update the interior. I was living in the desert area down near Phoenix for the last four years but I am originally from New Jersey and it is so refreshing to see the green and wild animals that are up here than I am used to seeing most of my lifetime.The Property that we purchased is 7 1/2 acres of absolute heaven which is completely fenced and in a bit of a remote area in snow flake but close enough to city after city. This area is beautiful and well worth visiting and the Buckskin Lodge is definitely the place to stay. You are close enough to Showlow, Snowflake and Taylor, as well as Payson. It's truly is a clean, affordable & an adorable motel with food delivery services all around it in Heber & Overgaard (at the moment due to Covid ). I highly recommend the motel. Steve (owner) was an amazing host. Our car had overheating issues when we got to the lodge and without hesitation, Steve started helping us right away. He even took us to Napa Auto Parts to get more coolant fluid. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. It was snowing hard when we got there and the satellite was covered in snow, but Steve went up on the roof to fix late into the night. The rooms were comfy and nicely heated and clean. We are currently here laying in the hard as rock bed. They have no AC and guaranteed us the rooms cool Down like crazy at night. LIES. The rooms are boiling hot. Seriously we didn't sleep at all. My back is killing me because the bed is so hard. I won't be staying here again. Highly disappointed. Also the customer service here is not good. It's totally more like a motel. There are 2 other fur babies that will greet you when you check in. The little decorative touches in the courtyard make it very comfortable. Miss the vending machine that used to be there though. Update on my last review of the Buckskin lodge. I gave 5 stars to the owner! She personally called me after my review of the employee lying and charging my card 100$. She is the nicest woman and genuinely cared about what happened and that I was upset. She refunded my money 100% and sincerely apologized. I never expected a call or refund so the fact that she did speaks volumes. Thank you for rectifying this situation! Having my money refunded was great, but for me the fact that she reached out, and validated me meant a lot! Because of that and you I would now give you my business in the future! read more

This Place was AMAZING!!! The Lodge was full of positive energy. The Courtyard was full of beautiful and creative decor. If it was warmer I would have loved to take advantage of the outside grills. Every where you look there is some type of artistic element from some one who cares. The rooms where clean and warm. I would love to stay again if I end up in AZ. Simple yet cozy rooms. Open late which allowed us pull over from cold trip and check in. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Make sure to take a picture with the big green alien in the front. And if you're hungry there's a restaurant across the street. read more

After checking availability on a room employee confirm they did not want to book a reserve just yet company had already had card at record a conversation where employee stated not to book or reserve a room and yet owner was very rude when I called to confront on why they charge two nights for two rooms , was amazed at level of rude they were As they refused to refund any of the money despite a recorded conversation telling them they were not authorized in the first place have to file a civil complaint for unruly owners good thing company phones have built-in recording for I believe they have broken the law read more

Rooms are very clean, and there was a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable (I actually had to go buy a foam topper), but it beats camping out on the ground. There was no A/C in the room and it happened to be a hot weekend, so it was pretty uncomfortable. The lady working was nice and helpful. The benches outside were nice. If the beds were comfy and there was A/C I would have given it a 5 star for the cleanliness and the value. read more

Worst hotel experience I've ever had by FAR!! We were aware that the rooms didn't have ac, and were told that the rooms cooled down a lot at night (which did NOT happen). We were not told however, that a heater constantly stays on, and that it's located right next to the beds. Each room is "assigned" one tiny fan, and if it weren't for other family members staying in a different room giving us their fan to borrow, we would've had to leave. We also went to the front desk and asked for an extra fan, and they refused to give us one, stating that they "aren't able to give you another fan because they're all assigned to different rooms". My family had to sleep without blankets, almost in underwear, with cold damp towels and soda cans. Not only that, but the beds were also extremely hard and very uncomfortable. I also had to duck to take a shower, even though I'm only 5'6. I would never stay there again, sleeping in a car would be better. read more
