Super.com didn't give them my information so I had to pay again for my one night at this hotel. I know they got their money from super.com plus money again for the night I had reservations for. Beware when Super.com and Best Western Sawmill Inn. I got stiffed from both Best Western Sawmill Inn and Super.com. The room: wasn't very clean, the floors and the bathroom were filthy. We had a death in the family a couple days before our reservation. We had to cancel our stay (it was more than 48 hours before). They refused a refund. It was a good thing we purchased insurance. If you plan to stay here, make sure you buy it! Even a death won't help with this place. read more

Rooms are overpriced and in desperate need of upgrade. The beds were as hard as rocks. The rooms smelled awful. Very disappointed!

Room was clean and had a flat screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge with no freezer.the bed was too soft and kept me tossing and turning. We decided to catch a snow day last minute. We have three dogs so finding a place to stay out of town overnight can be difficult. Due to weather reports, Heber had a great amount of snow, a quick check online listed the Sawmill Inn as pet friendly. Called, confirmed, and off we went! They allowed us to check in early and the place was rather empty but the first impression was great, nice, clean lobby, great customer service and quick check in. We were off to a great, smooth start. We get to our room, it is clean, has no funny smells, has a fridge, microwave and coffee pot fully stocked. The TV was new and there was a TON of channels. The room was basic but done nice. We slept great and it was quiet. In the morning, we walked to the lobby and went into the breakfast area and it was fully stocked with everything you could imagine for a great breakfast! Hearty...check, healthy...check, fresh...check. The gentleman running the place was so nice and made my boyfriend a blueberry waffle in the maker that was really good. There was a TV on with the news too. We enjoyed our stay, the snow, the location of this place and the service received. Our dogs enjoyed it too. We would come back again for sure. They overcharged us, the room was not cleaned well. There was very little water pressure, and in the morning there was no water. If you can avoid this hotel. There were a lot of weird bugs on the ground. The pancake mix was so runny, so it made the waffle mushy. The choice for breakfast was not good. The juice was out of order. read more

Update: My original review was sarcastic, but you need to know that our room (111) had bed bugs. We found blood in the bed from their bites, several bugs on the sheets, and two days later we had welts all over our bodies. We left a note for the maid, along with some of the dead bugs, but I doubt anything was done (other things we brought up earlier were not addressed either). So, that's your warning. The sheets from our bed could be on any bed. And, just washing them will not kill bedbug eggs. Good luck! read more

I was actually reserved to stay at the Motel 6 next-door but when I arrive to check in at Motel 6 it looked very run down and unsafe then I looked next-door which was at best Western and it had a much newer safer look to it so I decided to go there not only did they give me the room I wanted but they also gave me a better price I will be returning here again when I visit Kingman. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I had some issues with the TV. read more

DO NOT BOOK HERE. My wife and I booked a room well in advanced (months) and requested a non smoking room for two night. We get there and am immediately turned off by the gentleman who peaks his head out the back room door and tells me to hold on. We are then given a room key and checked in. When we get to our room it REAKS of smoke. My wife has asthma issues and cannot stay in a smoking room, hence us booking the non-smoking room. We then go back to the front and request a room change, in which he states he cannot do so. So we then ask for a refund, and he says he can't because we booked through snaptravel and to get our refund through them. The mustached, lazy, rude employee was very discourteous to my wife. So my wife spends over two hours to try to get a refund from snaptravel, the call the hotel AND THEM TELLS THEM CANNOT GET THE FIRST NIGHT REFUNDED BECAUSE WE CHECKED IN. We didn't even step farther than 3 feet into the room. We managed to get a much much nicer room at Bison Ranch down the road. Do yourself a favor and go there instead. Still in disbelief we are out $200 because of this employee and managers arrogance. read more

Beware, weary travelers! This place had a dripping faucet in the bathroom all night, a dusty, old smell to the room and sheets,and, I guess, the worst part is that you can hear every car pass by on the adjoining highway. The price was over $100 for one night and definitely not a worthwhile value. I saw no pool or exercise room, ( but they may have provided them) and don't even think about a breakfast offer. They offer push button dispensers for all soap, shampoo, and conditioner together. This owner acted like he didn't care if you stayed there or not. No sense of appreciation. If this is an example of the Best Western chain, I'll take my business elsewhere. Cheapest of the cheap, and tacky for this part of Arizona. read more

I am traveling to help my elderly (and loving) Mom during the Corona virus outbreak and my primary concern is (was) having to stay at a hotel on the way to (and from) my Mom's. I take every precaution at rest stops and gas stations but can't avoid staying at a hotel. Dave (owner of Sawmill Inn) and I had an extended conversation regarding the precautions he takes at his hotel which is too many to mention here and I feel completely safe staying at his hotel. So much that I changed my return trip to stay here again on my return trip (originally planned through Flagstaff). Not to mention that the friendly service at Dave's is unprecedented!!! read more

All staff were very friendly and accommodating during our stay. The room was very clean and we felt extremely comfortable. With Covid precautions, I expected their continental breakfast to be canceled; however, they offered an order-to-go option which was awesome! The Best Western Property is your typical franchise motel located in a small community in the AZ mountains. The property owners/management lives onsite and are very friendly. The property offers free Internet service, Continental breakfast and a small gym area to meet your basic workout needs. The rooms are well kept with a couple minor issues. The suitcase quilts on the foot of the bed have started to show some wear and tear and really need to be replaced. I personally would prefer that the property leave hand soap (bar) at the bathroom sink. This is the first BW property that I have stayed at that using a liquid dispenser mounted to the shower wall. My only other issue is to recommend the area around the mgmt apartment is need straightening. The bars on the doors and the clutter is not very appealing or comforting to a guest. I also recommend requesting a room on the second floor. The soundproofing is less than adequate and I could hear everything going on above me. However, I heard little from the rooms next door. Overall I recommend the property and would definitely stay again. read more

WOW - I travel around the world for business and stay at top end hotels and resorts and I have never seen this level of service. After stopping last minute due to a snow storm, they got us a nice pet friendly room at a reasonable price (didn't stick it to us knowing they had us). Honest good people. But the most amazing part is when we woke up we found all of the car windows cleaned off a shoveled path to each car. Beyond amazed at that kind gesture for the guests by the manager/owner(?). Saved my bacon not needing to go outside and freeze without gloves or proper ice scraper. Thank you! Well done so I highly recommend this hotel if you need to stop for the night or want to enjoy the high country for a few days. read more

Blew a tire a few miles up the road, very accommodating and clean room. Great price for the room and very nice tv. Also great staff.

Normally I give Best Westerns a 4 star, this location is a little more run-down than usual, still ok for a quick weekend in the pines. Super nice staff, close to local eateries. Not a heck of a lot to do around town, however. read more

I will start by saying this is the second time I stayed at this hotel, and after the first experience I was actually highly satisfied. Now, I wouldn't recommend this hotel again or give them my business. I made my reservation over the phone and gave them these specifics: 1. We will be arriving very late and 2. We will need to check out late after my husband (a Wildland firefighter in the area) gets off work, about 5:00. My family and I arrived at close to midnight Easter Sunday only to stay until 5:00 the next day. First red flag, the reservation was under the wrong first name because the person I spoke to over the phone clearly didn't understand me. Ok, no big deal. We unloaded our small bag, but seemingly never-ending necessities for our 8-month-old baby, and of course, the sleeping baby. Second red flag: there was a dead spider under the pillow on the bed. Once again, I can let it slide. My husband leaves for work after only having been in the room for 7 hours and my baby and I stay where we are under the impression that we will leave peacefully at 5:00. After being interrupted for "housekeeping" twice while my baby was sleeping, we were finally approached to "come to the front office". With my baby in tow I was told that my card was declined. This came as quite a surprise especially after checking the balance on my card and seeing that there was more than enough to cover it. So, I call my bank. Not only is the money sufficient, but my card was already charged the previous night close to midnight (right, because this is when we arrived). So why are they running my card again?? As I return to the counter the lady clarifies "are you staying another night?". My response, "no. I was told over the phone by a male staff that my late checkout was ok". Her "I don't think so. And it's past late checkout". (Did you really just say I don't think so to me!?) Lets recap 1. You were charging me for another night without my permission 2. You are calling me a liar that I wasn't told I could check out at 5. 3. There is not another soul in this hotel and you're saying I HAVE to checkout- when I technically haven't even stayed the normal amount of time (since we arrived at midnight). Needless to say I was not wasting another minute of my time. I responded with a "of course we can leave right now (2:00)" I quickly scrambled up all our stuff, including my baby and sat outside the hotel room door as I waited for my husband to take a break from work to pick us up. I am highly disappointed with their hospitality. We were here hours away from home, I was without a car, with my baby, there wasn't a soul in sight and yet we couldn't stay just three more hours!? I am not surprised that they fell from a 10-point rating in October to 8.7 in April, as indicated by the plaque in their front lobby. My baby and I then waited for three hours outside/ in the bed of a truck while my husband worked. I moved my family from The Valley to the East Coast this summer. We spent our first night of our road trip at The Best Western in Heber. It was a nice Hotel located on the highway, nestled in the pines. The room was clean and welcoming, and the front desk service was friendly. We needed to do some laundry and found the facilities very nice. The staff helped me with the dryer. In the morning, we went to the lobby for a delicious complimentary breakfast. This place is pretty clean, that's true. However, there are maintenance issues, such as problems with the electronic entrance system, some of the lamps don't work, and Come on! I get up in the morning and the coffee machine in the room doesn't work! The management are friendly and cooperative. I've had worse stay experiences, but I've had better. read more

Driving cross country from San Diego, somehow we got lost in the NM mountains and wanted to find a place to rest for the night. Out of nowhere and glittering like a jewel in a swamp, pops up the Best Western, heaven!!! We stopped on 2/6/15, there was a very nice young lady working at the reception desk and a room with two double beds was $79 a night. The room was warm, very clean, NO BEDBUGS, had lots of hot water and great internet. Not a full five stars because of the incredibly sad "free" breakfast...you gotta be real hungry to eat that stuff. Nevertheless, the room was safe and warm, and really, that's all that matters to me. Truly a slice of paradise to a couple of lost travelers...thanks BW! read more

After a long trek from Flagstaff to Heber it was nice to settle in for the night in a nice CLEAN hotel room for the night. The bed were very comfortable. There were plenty of fluffy pillows to use. The toilet and tub were spotless. Overall I was very impressed. I would recommend this hotel to others. I know where I'll be staying during my next trip to town. read more
