if i could, i'd leave no stars or even in the negatives.. but since we've been here the first time to buy our truck (in january of 2021, it's now october 2021) they've gone thru 5+ finance people. as we've had to completely redo our paperwork 3x. - this cost us on our warranty. the first finance guy had promised us this warranty & we agreed upon it. somehow it got lost in the paperwork & now we're stuck with a lower warranty than we had originally agreed upon & they REFUSE to fix it still. & then we had to get the truck in the shop 3x in the first month. & they were absolutely awful w the service they took incredibly too long. & then would only make matters worse. it's now october & we had taken the truck in early-mid april & they're just not getting us back in to get the part to fix what they MESSED UP originally... this issue wasn't there until after they worked on the truck.. but i finally called them back in september after giving up on calling weekly in june. & they inform me that their service guy we've been dealing w is gone.. & when we take truck in today, they don't even have the notes on what all's wrong with the truck... bottom line, they can't keep their help & it's us, their paying customers who have to deal with their own internal issues.. just such a shame.. i wouldn't recommend anyone shop for their vehicles here.. this was my husbands first time vehicle shopping from dealers & by far.. the worst ever experience for anyone especially first time buyers... read more

in December 2012 I came to rusty to buy a ford fusion we negotiated a price, I signed papers gave them a deposist. it turned out the had they sold a car tome that was not available. They tried the switched on me, 3 times for 3 different cars... each time they tried to increase the price for reasons that had nothing to do with me or the LEGAL document I signed. So salesman worked on a car deal for me, called/texted several times trying to get me over there... told him we would come over but would prob be late, around 7:30.. was told no worries we will stay as late as needed. We get there they pull car around. It had been in a wreck, wasn't told that upfront..there is damage to the grill, was told they weren't gonna do anything about that.. wasn't good service acted like they did t really care I just drove over an hour to get there. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a new or used car to avoid this company.The fees here are very high. Even if you find a car for a decent price, this company will charge very high documentation and other fees that will increase the price of the car. This company relies on hype and excitement to appeal to a person's emotions in order to sell cars. This company has a very high overhead. Additionally, I've had very little help from the company supporting the car I purchased. Outside of the factor of convenience, the real value in buying a car from a dealer is the service and support of the car. I expect a car dealer to help me solve problems with my car. After my tire blew out I found out that my car had no jack or spare tire! I had the car towed back to Rusty Eck for a tire. They made me feel dishonest and kept saying "we are too busy today to help you with this" when I asked them to help find the jack and spare. I really feel that a jack and spare should have been included with the car as basic safety equipment, but they did not feel this way. This is not a company anyone should deal with. read more

Before you purchase from Rusty Eck Ford, pay the money to bring in your own mechanic to do a detailed check of the vehicle. Be sure you have all tires removed and checked also. I was so excited to buy a new vehicle, but it is still costing more more money. Tire was leaking, took it to shop, has three rope plugs, NOT repairable. I am not "car savy" so as everyone at Rusty Eck Ford says, "BUYER BEWARE!" because we ain't gonna fix it! read more

Would have gave them zero stars to be honest. Made the mistake of asking for more information about the sale they had going last weekend. They haven't stopped calling me or texting me since, even though i have told them multiple times that I was no longer interested because I found a dealership that I really liked (Eden auto in Valley Center) and their asking prices didn't fit my budget. I went to rusty eck to trade my vehicle for a different car that i can afford. They immediately printed my titles and had me sign them over. After I was told to sign stack of papers and lots of lines on a machine they told me the money I gave them was not enough money and had me transfer money out of a very small account that I am not to take anything out of that my husband left for me without allowing me to leave to get any help with the car or to go to the bank. The two men stayed right there in the office with me and had me call on the phone, without allowing me any privacy on the phone. Mr Fieldman would only allow me to look at 2 cars and to drive it in the parking lot. The dealer sent me home with car that I said was to knew with a blown engine and higher payments than I said I could afford. I took the car back first thing the next day, the people said that the man who sold it to me was not there and would have to come back. My daughter told me when she called the employees said he is there every day, and was in a meeting. The assistant manager called me, after I left and told me to come back in 4 days and he would fix it and get me a car I can afford. I went back 4 days later, he would only let me look at 2 cars again. He told me he took my truck to the auction the same day he took it from me and did not get as much money as he wanted out of it. I told him multiple times I can not afford either of the vehicles. He kept saying he would make it so that I could and told me his wife has been in going through cancer. I was given a paper that said the car had 24000 miles on it and it was older than the other one he let me look at and that it was under 9000. When I got the papers I found out that the 2nd car cost more than the first car and more than it did when it was brand new. The payments are higher than the first car. They had made me wait a long time said they were cleaning it, when it came back it still looked the same and smells like someone peed and maybe through up inside. The gauge inside says the car has over 56000. thousand miles on it. I tried to take it back. The dealer said he will buy it back but I have to give him 8,600 dollars. I am an old woman I can not afford 36,000.00 dollars for a car. He knows I am on a fixed income. The payments are over 450. a month the insurance is 300.00 a month it is a toyota and not old it is 2021. When my kids read the paperwork of the second car it says he took away all of the money I put down on the first car added $8600.charged me again for the dealership to set up the financing (I am the one who went to the bank) and gave me another broken car (the car that came home with me is not the car they gave me the paper for, looks like the same car in the picture.) Now I do not have a car and the bank told me the dealership did not put the right name on the paperwork and is telling me I have to sign more papers. I put that they responded quick because they came out of the door fast, took my truck fast, gave me over 40 pages of papers to sign fast, took my money really fast, and are willing to by the car back real fast if I give them more money and now I have no car. read more

This is the worst Ford Dealership I have ever dealt with. My husband leased a F150 from them in Nov. 2015 and we just finally received the paperwork we needed to register it and we are still waiting for them to make our deal right with taxes that we ended up having to pay out of pocket! It seems no one works there longer than a few weeks as every time I call I have to re-explain the situation because the person I was dealing with no longer works there! We are moving to Wichita in a year and we will never buy another Ford truck from this company! I will take my Ford loyalty someplace else. read more

Was in a spot with no a.c. blower in August in Junction City, had a 4 hour drive back to Omaha after working in the hot sun for 12 hours. Zane wouldn't give a part # to the local ford dealer I was across the street from because they wouldn't get the big $100 sale. Zanes shop was over an hour away from where we were, so two hour round trip. Then tells me he doesn't care if I ever buy a Ford again. Seems to go against everything William Ford the CEO says about Ford and the customer being the priority. Because of you Zane -I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER FORD. I'm not done yet with you Zane. Every website, every available review, Ford's corporate team, and every person I ever speak to- don't buy a ford they're not gonna help you when you need them (unless they make their $ from it). We were welcomed by John Dotts. He was absolutely amazing. He was so knowledgeable and pleasant. After our test drive we were introduced to Doug Ford. Mr. Ford was equally pleasant and knowledgeable. Have been taking my car in one to two times a year since i bought it brand new in 2017 for a rattle in the passenger door. Each time they tell me the bolts in the wheel well were "just loose" and needed tightened just to end up back there 6 months later for the same bs all the while being treated like an inconvenience by the service department staff. At this point not sure what to do other then take it else where and hope the issue can be fixed legitimately. Ive had used cars before and never had to take them in every 6 months for routine bolt tightening. Called service dept. about another issue of paint peeling off recently and was treated terrible on the phone and quickly passed off to another department, where I did get good ethical help finally. Unfortunately I had to go back to the service department where I was treated awful initially but once I was passed off from one rude degrading service member to a nicer one I finally got some help. He explained that they most likely wouldn't accept a claim and gave me the reasoning but said he would send it in. Currently waiting to hear if my warranty claim is accepted or denied. Either way I have to get the issue fixed. Id like to stay with Rusty Eck because I bought the car there but Im not sure if its worth it. I did finally get fed up enough to voice my reoccurring negative experiences with another department but what can really be done it has gone on since 2017. Im only giving an additional star because the quick lane and body shop have always been excellent with my car from the work to the professionalism which I appreciate. read more

Bought a car and have had nothing but issues. Brought my car in for my scheduled service appointment and to have a squeaking issue addressed. Told the service guy, I think his name was Kevin West, that I was pretty sure it was my muffler. 6 hours later he called to say my car was ready and they had driven the car, heard nothing, and made sure everything was secure and bot loose. I wasn't out of their parking lot before it was squeaking again. Took it to their collision repair and the manager got down, shook the muffler, and sure enough that's what it was. That jerk service guy wasted my entire day and treated me like a bimbo that doesn't know anything. I have never felt so disrespected before and told them if I ever have to deal with him again I will take my services elsewhere. I will never buy another car from rusty eck again. Absolutely disappointing, with I had emailed days in advance, texted in advance, and texted day of all for one specific car. ONE SPECIFIC CAR, even made it clear I did not want to drive out the "sister" location or go to another dealership after getting to that one. So what happens when I show up ready to buy with downpayments and pre approved? THEY DONT EVEN HAVE MY ONE SPECIFIC CAR I WAS INTERESTED IN AT THIS LOCATION... told it was at the other location in hutch... okay fine. They ask if I am willing to look at other cars while they get the car I'm interested in moved from hutch to Wichita. I say sure, they ask what I'm looking for, I say small, economic, with xxxxx budget. They come back offering me a flipin 2011 mustang.... how is a sports car an economy car? Then they offer me a Hundyi accent... okay however it's older, has more mileage, and is more expensive then the dang car I came to look at in the 1st place. After getting this run around for about an hour my car I requested still had not arrived, so I called the dealership in hutch. THEY HADENT EVEN RECEIVED A REQUEST TO SEND MY REQUESTED CAR DOWN TO WICHITA!!!!! So I told them to hold it, drove all the way out there, and bought the car I had originally planned on. So congratulations Rusty Eck you managed to blow a perfect and easy sale. I had even been warned not to go to that location but I had a online coupon I wanted to use. Oh, and I wasn't even able to use my coupon because I bought the car at the "sister" store... whatever I have my car. The ladies and gents at the hutch store were more then helpful. If you are a glutton for punishment, I would highly recommend Rusty Eck to you. I (not my real name above) purchased a Ford Fusion from Rusty Eck in 2007. I have since used them for every service or repair I have had, which is part of the fine print stipulations for almost every promotion they offer, at a ridiculous mark up compared to most shops in town. Since day one, every time I have been in for service or repair, the service staff has tried to find a way to weasel out of these promotions (the since discontinued promotion for "tires for life specifically). The service managers that will deal with you (Glenn Williams most recently) will pat themselves on the back constantly in front of you, and tell you how honest and straight forward they are, while the shove overpriced repairs down your throat, while at the same time working to deny you the promotions you were promised upon purchasing your vehicle. Again, fine print. My most recent visit was for a transmission flush (over priced at nearly $200). During that visit, my car erupted into flames in the service bay. What I've been told by them is, somehow something in my truck ignited and started the fire. I guess spontaneous combustion is real after all. I'm told that I must have caused this when I brought it in and parked it, except the trunk had not been opened in nearly a month. After denying any responsibility for the fire, I am told that the rate just to find out what happened is $105 per hour, not including repair. I had also brought my car to them to replace my tires as they were well below the point at which they would be replaced (tires for life). When they proceeded to tell me that having my oil changed at their location (stipulation) was not enough, but I needed to have it changed every 6 months also (again, fine print). I drive less than most, so changing my oil every 6 months did not naturally happen based on mileage. At this point is when I find out about the 6 month stipulation. I would strongly recommend anyone who wants to spend their hard earned money on a beautiful new vehicle, please explore your options at other dealerships. You will be happy you did. read more

As far as everything going wrong with my car, they made it right. I won't go into details about how, but my vehicle was taken care of. The service department at Rusty Eck Ford is horrible. On Wednesday, March 17, I was visiting Wichita. My engine light came on as I was about to return to Kansas City. I went to the nearest Ford dealership and had an unfortunate, unsatisfactory experience trying to get someone to help me. The service person I saw was Paul Shaffer who not only was NOT helpful, he didn't express any concern or professionalism. Too bad. A little common courtesy and helpfulness would have gone a long way. I checked the online price again, and they had marked it up while I was test driving. I didn't feel right about the deal, so I left. By the time I got home, they had reduced the online price back down to the original. Not very happy about my experience with Rusty Eck Ford in Wichita, KS. Made a deal on Saturday on a new F-250. Wasn't terribly thrilled with the financing option they gave me but it worked for me. Supposed to be a done deal. However, today, Thursday, they called me to tell me I had to come in to finish up the financing paperwork even though I already had a signed sales contract. I went in and they wanted me to pay more than another percent in interest and a hundred dollars per month extra on my loan. Their answer to solve the issue was to give me back my trade in and cancel the deal. Will never work with this dealership again and will likely never look at another Ford again due to this. Never had such a terrible experience with pressure on the sales side and the finance department was less than helpful. I have financed multiple vehicles with other dealers in the past and when a deal was done, it was done. Purchased a truck from them in late 2018 and traddd my old one in, managed to find a truck that would be worth the hassle of making more payments but ended up with a lemon. The finance officer that was supposed to help came out to the table with a "you need to put money down" attitude and tried to bully on price and payment, after everything was said and done the deal was set and was workable. 3 weeks later i get a phone call saying since i needed to register the vehicle out of state the fifnace option was pulled and I had to find a new place to finance the vehicle. When i offered to bring the truck back i got told "we can accept it, but there will be a .25 cent charge per mile to restock the vehicle" after moving 2 states away and having no money to even drive the vehicle back i did the leg work that the this dealership FAILED to do. After all is said and done the vehicle has had minor issue after issue between the door not closing and creating a seal like it should to the back window falling off. If i coild give negative stars i would. This place has and will always be a horrible example of what a dealership could be. read more

Rusty Eck will back out of a negotiated price and make multiple attempts to finance more than the difference in your trade. Also, watch out for the bait and switch for a vehicle that is worth less than the one you picked out . I thought I had experienced all the BS from dealerships but this place went to another level. Truly wonder how often they get away with these tricks and how many people get taken advantage of. I would like to take the money I was going to spend on the new truck and run full page newspaper adds sharing my story. I just returned from Rusty Eck Ford. The experience was, well terrible. The Service person I had was chewing gum and was very rude. I had a blow out on my truck yesterday. Went there first thing because I have tires for life on the maintenance plan I purchased when I bought the truck there. It was two years. $3189. Two year oil changes and other miner services included. Well my tires were just about to be worn out but still had a few miles left. The Service person didn't even ask about me or my truck or how many miles I had on it. The basic questions they should ask to find out about my truck. I told him I had the service plan and tires for life. He said. Do you bring you truck here for maint. I said I did until the service contract was over. He said well you needed to have all your servicing done here, "YOU SIGNED THE CONTRACT." Well I just looked at the contract and it said I needed to service at a qualified Ford Dealership, Not Rusty Eck Only. He probably just got him a big bonus for turning me down. $3189.00 later, i had about 5 oil changes and one set of tires because they were about wore out when I purchased the used truck. I will not be purchasing another vehicle or servicing my vehicles there. Would recommend using someone else. Check reviews before you go any where. Also check filtered reviews. I want are my tires replaced. Didn't need the rudeness. Watch out. Never buy there service plan. One oil change not at Ford voids everything. Oh, by the way, I changed my oil myself because I hit some financial troubles because I was off work for 11 months because of two ankle surgeries. read more

Very disappointed. I bought my first car from them about 8 months ago and yes the buying process went smoothly but since then I have spent hundreds of dollars on things that should have been already done to the vehicle that I had no way of knowing needed to be done until I needed it and have seen many fallen thru promises. Granted some is due to my car buying ignorance because it my first time. But to name a few they refused to give me a spare key (newer cars have very expensive fees to get a new key matched to the car). They promised a owners manual that never got to me, which has create inconveniences for me multiple times, right after I signed the papers I barely could reach the salesmen. The car was low on nearly every fluid right off the lot that I had to pay for to refill and now I currently sit in a dealership paying over $100 to get my tow package programmed when they promised me it was tow ready, a point that helped sell me on the car. My main disappointment was being treated like a high priority during negotiations but once they got my money I was lower than trash (I understand this is not uncommon to be a priority until have they get what they want but very disappointing none the less) I feel bad for the next car salesmen I buy from because I will not be very trusting. read more

I was fairly confused because the last time I went to Rusty Eck Ford for service, there was no "Fast Lane", so of course, I went to the main service center to check in for my scheduled appointment. I was informed I was in the wrong place and quickly pointed the way to the Fast Lane service area. Once there, I had no problem other than when asked for a phone number to be called when the car was ready, I gave my cell phone number. I then went back home and low and behold, I was called at my home phone, not my cell phone. It was just lucky I was there, not out running errands. Then after picking up the car, the power steering seemed to be sluggish so went back and reported it. The attendant did take it for a test drive but after looking under the hood, I discovered the belt slipping. This was after having "The Works" service where everything was to be checked. Finally, after getting back home, my wife went through the paper work and it seems like they put in 7 quarts of oil, into a car that only takes 5 with filter change. Made me go "Hummmmm". read more

I attempted to trade my one year old spotless (immaculate) truck to these guys. Garage truck, it doesn't even have a door chip on it. The salesman told me their appraiser normally bid used trucks above KBB trade value. What a horrible misrepresentation of what they would actually do. They bid my truck $3000.00 UNDER the low end of KBB trade value, a difference of about $10,000.00 over what it's actually worth at retail sale price. So while I don't mind them making money, I think a $10,000.00 profit on a used truck is pretty excessive. Oh....... they did offer to "really take care of me" and raised their bid by $3,000.00. So if you're looking for a good deal on a new car, don't trade your vehicle to these guys. Low prices and even lower trade offers is what you'll get. read more

I will be taking in my 2011 Ford Explorer for the 5 time now to fix a rattle. They must never test drive the cars they work on after they half ass try to fix them. I came looking for a specific car I saw online. I was informed it had already been purchased even though I had looked online just an hour before. So after searching for other cars, they informed me they had a vehicle that fit my price range and milage. The vehicle was on the lift in the bay having repairs done. They took me out to another model and had me test drive it. They wanted me to sign paperwork for the vehicle on the lift without ever even looking inside it! The salesman finally gave up after I repeatedly told him no, and went to get the manager. The manager then pressed even further to the point of making my wife and I feel uncomfortable. He kept saying how he did not understand why I would't sign, he said that I drove a model like it, so why not sign. Finally I had enough and we walked out. I would never buy a car from this dealership under any circumstances. read more

Took my wife's 2008 Escape in for an oil change and tire rotation as she was planning to take it on a long trip in a couple weeks. Zach Boucher was the service rep handling it for us and while speaking with him I asked if they would give it a look over to make sure my wife wouldn't have any problems with it on her trip. About an hour later he advised me that the oil had been changed and they didn't find any concerns with the vehicle except for the tires being in need of replacement (something I had already suspected). He said they would probably last or the trip though. Having a little bit of time available I told him to go ahead and put new ones on. About an hour and a half later he came to the waiting room to let me know it was ready and to come on back to his desk to sign for it. As we were completing the paperwork one of the guys that does a quick clean of your vehicle when they finish servicing it came in and asked Zach to come out to look at something. I turned and saw a group of them with Zach looking at a spot on the side of my wife's Escape. He showed me a small damaged area and explained that a gust of wind had caught the door of a car next to my wife's and had hit it. He immediately reassured me that they would take care of it and would give me a loaner while it was in the body shop. I'd like to thank the gentleman that had the integrity and honesty to report the mishap to Zach and thank Zach for his immediate assessment, apology and offer of correcting the damage. They could have been unscrupulous and try to pass it off as prior damage but didn't. They were honest, concerned, and stepped up to right the situation. We got the Escape back 3 days later and it looks perfect. Thanks. read more

I called prior to coming in and asked if I needed to make an appointment and they told me no. I guess I think that open communication is best and if it was going to be an extremely long wait then I would have expected them to tell me this and I would have waited to come in at a different time. There was a woman who had an appointment at 2:30 as well and I left just minutes before her. I also was told I had a hole in the side walk of my tire and that it needed to be replaced. I guess I am a trusting person and I trusted their opinion and had it replaced. When I was checking out they asked if I wanted to see the hole in the tire. I guess I thought it must have been pretty bad to show me it. When I saw the tire the hole was on the treed on the first parallel groove. Probably an 1 &1/2 or two inches in from the outside. I know I have had patches put on tires like this before but they insisted they had to replace it! I felt taken advantage of because I am a woman and I wish my husband would have brought it in. I didn't make a big deal about it because everything had already been done and I had been there 2.5 hrs. I know I will be more diligent if I bring my car into this location again. I guess I just didn't have the best feeling leaving after having my car worked on. read more
