Really creative taco menu and the flour tortillas were really good. Service was good and the place was super clean quick and easy. Plenty of parking and service was fast and the Philly taco was honestly incredible. We will definitely be back.

Strawberry iced margarita with sugar rim

Rusty Taco has always been a go to since I have friends with dietary restrictions such as dairy and/or gluten free. I love that it is easy to modify and select options based on dietary needs. Headed to this location after a nearby workout class to celebrate my birthday with a friend - staff were great, answered questions, and were friendly. The blended margarita mix was not working so had to go with the iced version - fine but it was my birthday and I was looking forward to blended, no biggie but a bummer. Again, the staff/cashier tried to get it to work and was friendly. Then I had a email for a free chips and dip but it was not working so the cashier honored it anyways which was appreciated. I asked to pay for chorizo to be added, he did so but when I got my food, there was no chorizo. I did not say anything but strike two for me (no blended margarita and now no chorizo). I got a #2 Roasted Pork Taco which I have ordered many times from various Rusty Tacos, it was not tasting very good...tasted gamey or rancid almost. But who knows what the reason was. I nibbled on the chips and cheese (no chorizo) and tried to nibble around the pork. Again, the employees were great, it was not them. The iced margarita also was VERY sweet and tasted artificial - I slurped it down but eek, for the price and what it was, I was not pleased. I did appreciate the cashier working with us to choose a flavor and rim (salt or sugar) and then when the blended was not working, he was great and apologetic. The prices are fair, space inviting. The bathrooms were graffiti ridden and a bit dirty but not concerned. For sure check this Rusty Taco out - just always go for honest reviews and will revisit and update as I go.

Good for a cheap, quick bite. Tacos are about $3-$4 each. Would highly reccommend the grilled shrimp taco, as it was my favorite. Service was extremely fast. Also got the queso, guac, salsa and chips to share, which was pretty decent, but the queso came with a bit of a hardened film at the top - like it was sitting out for a while.

Quality, classic Minneapolis taco joint. Highly recommend for cheap and tasty tacos, with a ton of variety. Carefully crafted, fast service, and a cute little joint in a lively area of Minneapolis! So much seating and nice employees!

Being a chain restaurant, Rusty Taco comes with delicious tacos, always. Each taco is priced individually and makes it easy to mix and match your own taco platter. Their roasted pork, fried chicken and fish tacos are so delicious. You also get two levels of spice for your taco sauce and limes which really compliments the flavors. The tacos range from $3-$5/ taco which isn't out of range for the amount of protein and toppings they come with! Also! If you check in with Yelp when you visit for the first time , you get free Queso and chips!

We ordered to go and brought it to a brewery for dinner! First time at Rusty Taco and I'd definitely go back. We split a variety pack and I got a brisket taco with no onions. It was really good and the meat was amazing. I also got a kids quesadilla that was supposed to have steak but they forgot about the steak so that was disappointing but the tater tots were surprisingly crispy and good. The queso was alright and so were the chips but I'd go back for more tacos!

2 Rusty tacos and 1 fish taco (leftmost)

Are these definitely more Tex-Mex than authentic tacos? Sure, and they are delicious. All of the tacos are super flavorful: my favorites are the Rusty taco (the pineapple adds a great sweetness to the taco) and the fish taco (I like the fish grilled). Their queso is also delicious and worth getting - maybe it's the thin but not too thin crispy tortilla chip, maybe it's the queso but either way it's addicting. I was meh about the elote though so wouldn't recommend that. All the tacos are between $3.50-$4.50 so pretty reasonably priced. I would say 2-3 tacos is usually sufficient for me. The tacos come out really quick too. They also have a little fridge where you can grab what kind of salsa you want on your tacos if you would like. They have a small lot next to the restaurant. Has been crowded a couple of times but I've always managed to find a spot. This place definitely has a spot on my regular restaurant rotation list.

The food is just ok. We've tried the brisket, chicken, Baja shrimp, and carnitas. All of them were just ok and tasted cheap in quality. The staff is great and friendly but the space is usually messy and dirty. Feels a bit unsanitary and I have a pretty low bar for that! I wouldn't recommend this place unless you like unauthentic Tex mex (ex: BBQ brisket, fried chicken tacos). I've been here 3 times but I've never walked away feeling satisfied. I do like that they have unlimited salsas in the fridge pictured. They have pretty good chips and guac!

Cauliflower (grilled) bowl ($8.50 +$2 for avocado), made vegan w/o crema. Perfectly fine, but not amazing. Liked the puffy rice.
    Kedar D.

Rusty Taco, part of a small chain across the country, doesn't offer any labeled vegan options, but has a couple dishes that can be modified to fit the bill. I got a Cauliflower (grilled) bowl ($8.50 + $2 for avocado) and found it acceptable. It consisted of black beans, grilled cauliflower and cilantro-lime rice. I made it vegan by omitting the crema. I liked the puffy rice and the general light, wholesome nature of the bowl. Rusty Taco also has black bean tacos and a crispy cauliflower bowl or taco. They don't offer tofu, seitan or other mockmeats. I think Chipotle is more creative, flavorful and vegan-friendly than Rusty Taco, but I appreciate having other options around.

Shrimp tacos - one grilled, one fried and brisket taco
    Ellen M.

We enjoyed a quick lunch here and there are so many taco options, I had a hard time choosing. Settled on 2 shrimp (one grilled and one fried shrimp) and a brisket taco. I enjoyed the cabbage mix on the shrimp tacos, but the brisket taco was the winner of the bunch. Wow! the flavor and the texture of the meat was outstanding and the sauce just made it perfect. I would definitely get that one again! Order at the counter and they bring your order to your table. Fast, friendly service.

To much money for a little food or not to get all your food

make sure you check your receipt when order from here I ordered Trio from here for $17.80 and I received one taco which would've been a price of $5 dollars but I got charged $17.80 and when I got home and noticed that it was closed today, June 21 and I was talking to the cashier about it. She humped her shoulders. She wouldn't give me corporate number. She wouldn't give me a number so you have to check your order because they don't mind watching food for the high price. I'll give this half there's little to no meeting here and I will take pictures and show you , it's just ridiculous. The economy is really high right now and people are food and tacos is ridiculous. I just got three tacos and I think they gave me a half a spoon of meat or not even a whole half a spoon with me. Yeah this will be my last time coming here. Maybe you shouldn't come.

Rusty Taco is a fun little fast food joint, and a fixture in Northeast. Kids love it. The menu is expansive and I appreciate that. 15 different taco options, plus also breakfast. Service and presentation were also impressive. But when it came to the tacos I had here, kinda meh. The meat was shredded so fine that it lost all personality. I wanted to like this fun novelty place and I kinda do. But probably not enough to eat here again unless I have kids with me.

We went at night, so the space was not as cute as in the day. Florescent lighting and was very cold because of all the windows everywhere, but I really liked the art on the wall of "make tacos, not walls." I was a little worried when I looked at the menu because there weren't many written vegetarian options (was gonna just get rice and beans), but was able to get a vegetarian quesadilla, so I assume that many of their options can be made veggie, if you ask. Food came out relatively quickly and they brought lots of salsa too, which was perfect because I almost always have to ask for more salsa at most places. The quesadilla was so good. The cheese they used was divine and so melty! Good combo of veggies in it too (peppers and onions and more that I can't remember right now oops). I also got the oreo cheesecake, which was DIVINE. I always forget how much I like cheesecake and this one was tastier than most. I loved the crunchy oreos too to add a little texture. Will definitely be coming again to try different things. Want to try their juices when it's a little warmer!

It's basically operating like a fast food place. More importantly, the pictures on the menu are way different from the items you actually get. The food is fine but it is not delicious, and I don't see myself coming back here. I ordered steak quesadillas and it's like they barely toasted a tortilla, threw some tasteless meat and mozzarella cheese on it and called it a day. I had to eat sauce with every bite otherwise it would be essentially tasteless. There was nothing else on it, no onion, no peppers, nothing. I could've made better at home. Ben and Jerry's free ice cream cone day. After hanging out for half an hour with a live DJ,…read moredancing, and ice cream, we were ready for dinner. Priorities. What are we craving? Burgers? Nah. Pizza? Two maybes - plus the asker. Mexican? Again, two maybes. We start scouring possibilities. And come across a pizzaria + taqueria. Ratings at a very respectable 4.5. Curiosities at full peak. Plus it's close. We've got a winner. No guests inside when we arrive. Parking right out front. Before we even decide on an order, however, people start coming in. Several tables fill up within 10 minutes. Amusingly, the first next group grabbed the one curved booth with my full drink bottle still sitting on the table in the middle of them. They migrated to the semi-booth across the dining area. Clearly, the two most desired seating areas in the house. We ordered birria pizza and horchata - we have a tradition of testing the horchata at every next Mexican restaurant we try. This one was mid - not horrible, not great. Just was. We'd ordered a birria pizza recently, elsewhere. It came out as... a birria taco in pizza layout. Tortilla circle, birria middle, tortilla top. Meh. To be fair, that birria pizza was the only pizza item on that menu, so it made sense that their pizza just wasn't pizza-ing. We were hopeful for a very different experience this time. Especially given the very clear emphasis on pizza on this menu. Then the pizza came. Not only did it look glorious, a bowl of birria dip sat in the middle of the pizza, completing the birria experience. And it was absolutely fantastic. The birria, the ratio, the crust - everything was delicious. Except, as my friend pointed out, the horchata. It can't all be perfect, unfortunately. The pizza was so good that when we wrapped up the leftovers, a strip of end crust went in with the rest of the pie. Speaking of, I'm definitely ready to reheat all of that now - update: Awesome reheated. :) Next visit: Chorizo pineapple jalepeño pizza!

Marsu Pizzeria: The Battle for the Last Slice…read more I walked into Marsu Pizzeria already knowing two things: 1) I was about to have the best pizza of my life. 2) I was going to order way too much food and have no regrets. The place smelled like heaven--garlic, melted cheese, fresh dough. I took a seat, ready to devour a feast. A cheerful employee--let's call him Tony (because let's be real, every good pizzeria has a Tony)--walks up with a confident smile. Tony: "You ready for the best pizza of your life?" Me: "Tony, I've been training for this moment my whole life." I ordered the house special pizza (because if a pizza place has a signature pizza, you ORDER IT), plus some garlic knots, because I respect myself. The food came out fast, hot, fresh, and smelling like a dream. As I'm one slice away from food coma territory, I see it. The last slice. The holy grail. The perfect combination of cheese, sauce, and crispy crust, staring at me like it knows it's about to be devoured. Just as I'm reaching for it, Tony slides by the table, nodding at my plate. Tony: "You gonna finish that?" Me: "...I was planning on it, Tony." Tony: "You sure? I mean, we could put it up for auction. Bidding starts at one garlic knot." Me: "Not happening." Tony: "Alright, but just know... if you don't eat it in the next 30 seconds, I legally get to claim it." Now, I don't know what kind of pizzeria law Tony is operating under, but I wasn't about to test it. I stared him dead in the eyes as I picked up the last slice and took the biggest bite possible. Tony (nodding approvingly): "Good choice. That's the kind of hunger we respect around here." Long story short, Marsu Pizzeria has the best pizza, the best vibes, and employees who will absolutely test your commitment to finishing your food. Final score? 10/10 pizza. 10/10 service. 10/10 threats on my last slice.
