Was pleasantly surprised at this taco joint in the mall. Absolutely loved it! Bonus that it is halal for those who only eat halal meat. There aren't many options in the mall for halal eaters. The only downside I noticed is that since it's a self-ordering system on a screen, sometimes the wait can be a while as people figure out what they want. Otherwise it's relatively quick when there's not much of a line or at an off-time. I've tried the beef and the chicken Birria and they're both phenomenal. They are a bit oily but I think that's the standard for these kinds of tacos. Really love how crispy the tacos themselves are and the meat is flavored so nicely and very tender. As far as prices go, I would say they are over priced, but you are also at the mall of America, so what isn't? Plenty of seating around the area. I recommend grabbing your food and then heading to the big windows so you can watch the airplanes come in! I got the same beef Birria tacos I got 2 years ago. Since then, I have been to a lot of places for Birria tacos! So when I tell you this is average at best, believe me. The food: The tacos were small. The beef was either overly fatty or burnt and dry. What a great addition to the MOA food court options. I got the 3 beef birria tacos. They are generous with the beef and the beef consume. It was very good! The only part that I wasn't excited about is they only have 1 kiosk to order from and when there's a line, that takes awhile and if u have people who aren't techy trying to figure out the kiosk, it takes even longer! So I'm giving this location 3 stars for the whole experience. After you get your order in, the food comes out within mins. read more

This experience however was not a good experience. The tacos lacked flavor and the tortillas just fell apart. Street tacos need to be doubled People.The lack of two shells was a crucial mistake. Customer service was also horrible. They forgot both my sodas and proceeded to argue with me that I didn't order sodas.I showed the taco assembler the receipts,and he still was not convinced even though it was on the receipt.Bussin-(meaning)...something that is off da chain good! For food court birria in the Mall of America, this birria was pretty bussin'! A fellow Elite recommended this spot, and since we've been on a huge birria kick, I had to give it a try. It's located on the third floor in the Culinary North on the north end of the MOA towards the back. The signage is bright and inviting - great design! The menu was very simple: essentially just chicken and beef birria and a few sides/desserts as optional add-ons. I had a bit of sticker shock seeing how much the birria cost, but figured it was probably on par with other food court options and birria. I opted for 2 beef birria tacos that rang up to around $10. Some of the signage gave me a chuckle - large signs that said "no typing inappropriate names to call for your order" in all caps and the like. They also have their menu QR code plastered along the glass, as well as requests to let them know if you want to-go boxing instead. You order on a touchscreen pad, so there isn't much human contact - except when the person preparing your food brings it out and calls your name. Service was fast - just a few minutes from ordering to getting my box. I was pleasantly surprised by how full the tacos were - at least getting some bang for my buck! Bussin Birria is a vegan-friendly taco stand in the Mall of America. Opened by the owner of Hot Indian Foods (which closed after a long run in the Midtown Global Market), it's an interesting concept that has no traces of South Asian influence. The vegan beef nachos ($15) were great: crispy, homemade chips with a tangy cheese sauce from Herbivorous Butcher in Minneapolis. The "beef" is shredded and seasoned jackfruit and nicely done. I removed the Bussin sauce (aioli) and didn't miss it; the dish is fine without extra sauces and condiments. I also got a vegan beef street taco ($5 for one) and loved it: shredded jackfruit with cilantro an onion. I wish the taco shell were slightly better (how about using the ones from Nixta in Northeast Minneapolis?) but this was still a great taco. The vegan chicken street taco ($5 for one) tasted good, too, but has a different seasoning that left the chicken feeling dry to me. Like the beef, it's shredded jackfruit from Herbivorous Butcher. If Bussin Birria had a soy meat chicken tinga taco, and a rice milk horchata, I'd be back regularly. I hadn't been to the Mall of America in 15 years, but now that Bussin Birria is there and slinging great vegan tacos, I might go more often. read more

You order on a tablet; there are visible signs explaining that they don't take cash or American Express, or, for that matter, offensive names on the order. They got my order prepared quite quickly, and these were pretty small tacos for the price. Good, fried tacos though. And some people like a lot of cilantro, but I like the modest amount they gave me. The consomme was very tasty. Typical Mall of America prices, though; elevated because they have more expensive leases. But honestly, if you're window-shopping this food court and are curious, you should try it out. They don't just have birria tacos! They offer street tacos, nachos, quesadillas, tortilla chips with various dips, just to name a few options. They also offer a whole VEGAN menu! We noticed this place at MOA and my husband is a taco fanatic so he had to try them! Their ordering is a bit different in that you order on a screen and don't interact at all really with the line person who is setting up order bags. It did take the three people ahead of my husband about 10-15 minutes to figure out how the ordering system worked. It was about 20 dollars for 4 tacos- keep in mind these tacos are smaller than a standard hard shell taco. The wait for the food was also about an additional 10 minutes so overall it took my husband about a half hour to sit down with his food! He LOVED the tacos and the consommé it was served with. I nibbled on their chips and Queso and the Queso was very good! You can tell all of the ingredients are fresh and not frozen and it's good quality food. All in all, my husband will 100% be returning- but just keep in mind the wait can be a bit since they make it fresh and you're paying for quality and flavor! read more
