What a great little spot! Right in a popular strip in SLP, this is a convenient spot for a bite to eat if you're working out, getting a pedicure, or anything else in the area (like me). AMBIANCE The decor in here is top notch! Dark walls with bright pink neons and fun decor. I love it - it really makes them stand out and the photos so fun! SERVICE It's counter service here, which I like - quick and easy. Food came out pretty dang quickly too. We went around 2pm and a good amount of the seats were filled - I was impressed! It's not huge but a good amount of seating, or take to go. FOOD We got some a few things that caught our eye from their more "trendy" options: Birria Grilled Cheese: my brother loved this! A bit steep for a sum of its parts, but a great concept. They have birria pizza, birria ramen, etc etc. All things for birria lovers here! Machete: I loved my machete! It was MASSIVE and the masa tortilla was made to perfection. Loved our experience here - if you haven't been, come check it out!

My friend picked up tacos to-go from The Taco Shop to eat outside on a nice night and I've craved them nearly every day since!! I tried the chicken, carnitas, and al pastor tacos. All 3 were great, but my favorite was the al pastor. The side of chips were great and tasted super fresh! The packaging was also A+!!! I loved the individual slots in the box for each taco to keep them standing up and put together.

It's a tiny space. When we were there there was a party taking up half the space, so only 4 tables were available. Come prepared with what you want haha, because the menu is big, bright and hard to read due to font. We had the chimichanga (very small) and birria tacos. Both had great taste, but simply weren't worth the hefty prices. Friendly and quick staff. Parking is in back FYI, don't listen to Google haha

Very flavorful food with many vegetarian and gluten free options Street parking out front. The restaurant is very small so only food for takeout or a small group. Service is fast- they have a cheaper price when you pay with cash

What a fun little discovery. This taco shop has incredible authentic mexican classics in a redeveloped area of Saint Louis Park. I kept hearing about this place from friends and food reviews and it is worth the hype!!! You see in my pics carne asada street tacos a must order when evaluating mexican food Birria queao tacos Mexican bowl Wet burrito And a machete a masa corn tortilla stuffed with asada, beans, cojita cheese, lettuce and sour creme and served with peppers and onions Chips and guacamole for real mexican fans, queso for you midwest wonders are both really good and the horchata and mexican coke are great to drink

Small Mexican place with really fun black and pink interior decor. We got pickup tamales and a burrito from here. Still hot when we picked up. The tamales come unwrapped and covered in sauce. The burrito looked huge, but was actually the right amount for a hungry human. Street parking only. Absolutely nothing wrong, just not mind blowing and only had 2 items. Would go back to try more and increase stars. 3.5

This place is super cute! It's a smaller restaurant so I'd say don't go with too many people unless to place to takeout. They do a few tables outside (sidewalk patio). I ordered a chicken tinga bowl & horchata. The food was decently flavored. I'd for sure go back and try more items. They have a cute little ice cream cart you can rent for events. The overall ambiance was nice. I liked all the neon lights & of course black and pink.

Authentic, tasty, and quick service makes the Taco Shop a great stop. I love the convenient location in beautiful St. Louis Park. Our food was cooked to order but still ready in about 10 minutes. Loved the flavors and options for different meats, mushroom alternative for veggie lovers, with both tacos and non-taco options!

Three street tacos with a roasted pepper and roasted onion with radishes and cucumbers. This place was five stars without a bite.

My wife and I were out in St. Louis Park, north of Edina and it was new restaurant Saturday. I sauntered into the smallish strip mall space, but it was surprisingly large inside for the area they had. There is a huge menu, but I was in here for STREEET TACOS. I got the lengua (tongue), some beef head (delicious) and the pastor, by far the best! The pastor was so flavorful, spicy, yet, not. The head and lengua was perfectly spiced, because you could not tell it was fatty meat. If you told someone what it was before they had it, they may not even try it, but it was delicious. I have had lengua which is very fatty, this was not at all, and the beef head was like a delicacy, almost like beef cheeks, which I have had. Maybe a better name for it. Anyway, great food and nice enough service. The food was filling and great! It is in a small place, so you have to look for it in St. Louis Park

What are the light! I had some unique rice on the bottom, covered with cheese, covered with vegetables and shrimp, very delicious. My son had three tacos and a steak sandwich. He gobbled it all down in record time. The service was friendly. I waited for my takeout order and it was very fast. This is a very small restaurant inside maybe 10 tables? I think they do a brisk take out business. Try it out!

Service was great and food was delicious! We had the machete and the birria grilled cheese. The machete is gluten free and the tortilla was kinda like a giant pita it was amazing. The bread and Birria was delicious and great for dipping in the tasty consume. Very cool vibe inside with Great Wall art and neon signs!

I love this place, and the food is on par with a lot of Mexican food in California. Most recently, we went to celebrate a birthday. We go here because they are veggie friendly. We ordered the veggie enchiladas and I got a veggie wet burrito. Everything was delicious. My only complaint would be that things could be a bit saucier...but that's a preference thing and we get salsa on the side for it. We also got chips and guac -- delicious as well! I will say that the portions, especially the burrito are VERY generous. I think I should have shared it! It was pretty buzzy, which was great to see given the depths of winter we were in. Go here!!

It's a bit whitewashed and leans more Cal-Mex than anything you'd find in Mexico, but I'm not complaining. I love a good California burrito and asada fries, so this style has its place (especially in Minnesota). Service can be slow. It took us about an hour to get two burritos yesterday and the restaurant didn't look busy. Maybe they were just short staffed. My main issue is the salsa. They limit you to one packet per person, and it's not the slightest bit spicy. And where are the limes? This place desperately needs a salsa bar with real options and some heat. Bump up the salsa selection and stop rationing it, and this would be a solid spot. For now, I'll keep getting this to go and buying my own salsa and limes.

I started with their signature cocktail, the Naked Dani. It comes topped with a salty foam and a little rubber duck, which makes it a fun and memorable drink. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes to share. We started with the Crispy Masa Chips, and honestly, I would probably skip those next time. The portion was pretty small, they were a little awkward to eat, and they just didn't stand out flavor-wise. The Cucumber Watermelon Salad, on the other hand, was amazing. It was light and refreshing, making it the perfect addition to the meal. The roasted sweet potatoes were another favorite--they had so much flavor and were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Corn Elote Chipotle, which was absolutely delicious. I could have easily eaten the whole bowl myself. For tacos, we tried the Pork Carnitas, and they were fantastic. If you're dining with a larger group, you can even order a larger portion so everyone gets one. Our favorite dish of the night, though, was the Zubuton Asada. It only comes with one skewer and is definitely one of the pricier menu items, but it was worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and easily the standout of the meal. We also tried the Chicken Thigh Pincho. It had a nice flavor but was spicier than I expected, so it's probably the one dish I would pass on during my next visit. Overall, we had such a fun dining experience. It's definitely more of a special occasion spot than somewhere I'd visit regularly because of the price, but everything from the atmosphere to most of the food made it feel well worth the splurge.

I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... : Xochitl In Love : La Clandestina : Tuna Tostada : Chicken Tinga Tostada : Seared Scallops : Tlayuda : Colita Old Fashioned : Lamb Barbacoa Tacos : Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing!
