My new favorite taco spot! The front patio alone has me planning summer meals here, and their happy hour (Monday-Friday until 6pm) is such a steal! 3 tacos for the price of 2 is hard to beat. Highly recommend the steak tacos! The beef was super tender and cooked perfectly. The refried beans are also AMAZING...like, don't skip them. I tried the corn cake (pictured)...which was decent, but a bit of a random pairing with tacos. Still glad I tried it though! Tip: get the chip dip trio and add queso so you can try everything, good value for a group and 100% worth it! I would give it 3.5 stars if I could haha. The taquitos were the best thing I've eaten this month! They have a huge, fun taco menu. The tacos were big - I recommend just 2 haha. I got the chicken club tacos with bacon, lettuce and spicy mayo. They were OK! Prices are higher but decent given portion sizes. You only get a tiny side of rice OR beans with entrees though. Tried this location because my bf loved the one in uptown. Definitely worth trying and coming back to. The food was good and customer service was excellent. They had some items specifically in honor of the state fair . I got the fried pickle tacos and I love them. I was worried they weren't going to be crispy enough. Nope! So good. Celebrated my friend's birthday here on a Sunday early afternoon. I know locations vary in offerings and also how they do things but this is probably my least favorite location. They have a parking lot with a lot of parking available and that's maybe the only thing good about this location. We had a party of 10 and people were able to order as they came in. I would say the service provided was really good considering we had a big group. The restaurant in general was not busy at all that day. I ordered taquitos which I had recently had from the lake street location which they were really good but these ones were a bit mushy in the inside and weren't as flavorful and I realized they (both locations) put potatoes in them. These felt more potato than anything else. They weren't horrible but not that great. I feel like everyone else for the most part enjoyed their food expect a few missed things here and there. The drink menu is different here they don't offer the fun $5 shots like the other location. For the most part, drinks were also good. They did have a blueberry mojito on their location exclusive menu and it went around the table a bit and did not get good feedback but otherwise everything else was good. Overall going to the Lyn-lake location is definitely worth the parking chaos. read more

There is a NEW Lago Tacos location in Plymouth! This new location has a complete different vibe and feel from its Excelsior and Uptown sisters. I love the decor of the space. It feels open and inviting. There is also a small patio area outside for summer seating. I sat at the bar with a coworker for happy hour after work on a Thursday. The place was pretty quiet at first but by time we left around 6:30 it was PACKED in there. The bartenders were awesome. Super nice and chatty. We had plenty of laughs throughout our entire visit. I enjoyed two tacos. One grilled shrimp and one bang bang shrimp which was fried shrimp with a spicy sauce. Both were really good but the grilled shrimp one was by far the favorite. We also ordered their churro dessert and that was also fantastic. The bartender told me that the Plymouth location exclusively does fajitas so I will be back soon for those!!! Second time here. The Mango Margarita was great. The chip and salsa were really good, salsa had a tad bit of heat which was perfect. I had the steak tacos with refried beans. I'm not sure if they make their own corn tortillas but I was not a fan. The steak and refried beans were good though. My fiancé had the birria tacos and she said they were ok, not the best she had but definitely not the worse. The elote was good too. read more

Great new option for Mexican food in Plymouth! It's a copy of the Lago Tacos in uptown, with good food, good service, all in a welcoming environment. Shares parking with the theaters, so it's usually very easy to park. Staff is new, but very friendly and knowledgeable. Strongly recommend giving it a try! read more

I usually don't leave one star reviews but the poor customer service needs to be addressed. I ordered on door dash and got some chips and dips and a tres leches. The chips and dips were fine. But when I started eating the tres leches it tasted like it had been made in an unwashed pan like literally tasted like taco seasoning and was stale and old. I kept taking bites hoping it would go away and did not. I then called the restaurant to see if it was maybe a seasoning they used or if something was wrong because obviously I don't want to eat something made in an unwashed pan. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and condescending. I asked if maybe it was a seasoning they used or something else and she very rudely was you have to go through door dash to get credits and that's not even what I wanted I just wanted to know if it was safe to eat. And then said we've sold two pans of the tres leches and no one else has had problems. Even if that is the case, you should not be treating a customer like that when you work in a job that deals with customer service. And then hung up quickly and raised her voice high up in an extremely mean way. I work in a restaurant and I would absolutely never treat a customer this way. read more

Love this place! Large menu with lots of options for everyone. Fast service and friendly staff. We are regulars there and are never disappointed. Highly recommended the short rib tacos! Only downside is it can get a bit loud sometimes as they are a pretty busy place. However they have outdoor seating and takeout options if you aren't in the mood for people. The rice was pretty bland. I'd say the best thing we had was the cheese sauce. The steak was chewy and just tasted like nothing. The carnitas were oddly moist as if they had been soaking in water. The corn tortillas tasted like wonder bread. We are about half our meal. read more

this was a really terrible place to dine and go , we found a worm in our tacos. not only were they rude to us our had party of 8, but they also refused to do anything about this and we want to write the health department it was so nasty and gross i threw up. our bill was 150 something dollars. do not eat at this resturant. and my friend also foudn a worm in his food and they promised a credit and they gave no credit. this si is ungodly and filthy. mean and nasty liers and uncaring also my glass had lipstick on it. this was the first and last time we will ever go to this unclean place. at first the food seemed so great and tasty but then a worm was found in the tacos and nachos. please look at yoru food carefully to make sure nothing is crawling around in it . read more
