They bent over backwards to help get me in a new car was treated with nothing but respect from the moment I walked through the door

I am disappointed to say the least with the entire buying experience with Rusty Wallace Kia located in Morristown TN. I bought my Kia Telluride in November of 2025. Before we drove it out to the showroom, my husband, Michael, noticed a piece of rubber on the windshield that was not flush with the glass. There was a small piece of rubber protruding from the windshield at the top on the driver side. Upon noticing this, I said that maybe we would wait and take delivery when it was fixed, the salesman, Anthony, stated that it was not a big deal and he took a pic of said defect and showed it to his manager. The manger sent Anthony back over to us and at that time, Anthony stated it was a five-minute fix and there was not a need to delay delivery. I was very hesitant and Anthony stated that he would stake his good name on the repair and he said he had been working there for 5 years and his word was gold. Against my better judgement we took delivery of the Telluride. Upon leaving and about 4 minutes down the road, I noticed that we did not get my vanity tag off my trade-in. It would not be a big deal at all because Anthony promised us that he personally would go immediately and get said tag and place it in his drawer. So, the following week, Anthony came and got my car as I work, less than a mile from dealership. Anthony called me to say that it was more than a five-minute fix and a part was ordered. I asked about the vanity tag and Anthony told me he had forgotten it in his desk and he assured me he had it. Next week came and Anthony came and got my car and when I asked about my tag, Anthony told me it had been thrown in the trash when they had cleaned his office. Anthony also stated that the person that had thrown away my tag had gotten fussed at by Jarod. Ok, so he did not put it in his desk. In addition, when the tec was working on my car, the windshield was broken by someone. So now, the Telluride had a broken windshield and a factory defect. I told Anthony I wanted to swap my car for one that did not have a defect and he told me that it could not happen because we had taken delivery of the Telluride. I also talked to Jarod, who told me that he would pay for another tag and I stated that the tag could not be replaced. I told Jarod that I felt insulted and cheated. He said, well we can give you a check for $250.00 to offset your troubles. I said no. I again stated to Jarod that I expected to swap this Telluride in for one with no defect. Jarod said the same as Anthony, that I had taken delivery. Jarod, then stated that he could give me $500.00 for my inconvenience. I do not want money is what I told him. Jarod also told me that is the best he can do. You cannot put a dollar figure on a gift from my deceased son. Jarod stated well if you change your mind on the money just let me know and I will cut you a check. I picked up my car and we left for vacation. I was going to wash a bug from the windshield but much to my surprise the washer did not work. This car has been in your shop three times for the same issue, which is a defect and this dealership already knows I am unhappy. Someone did not check or inspect the work done on my car. Should the entire management team no have made sure my car was ready and fully repaired, but instead they tried to give me a pair of jumper cables and a first aid kit, which I declined. We left for Florida and I texted Jarod to tell him that we had already left the state so I could not bring it in. Jarod simply stated that they could look at it when we got back from vacation. I have the texts from Jarod with the offer of hush money and I am tremendously disgusted by all actions on behalf of Anthony and Jarod concerning customer service and honesty. I have filed with the BBB and I have contacted Jarod numerous times in order to resolve this issue. I still feel the car will leak. These two individuals are dishonest to put it mildly. Also, my car was in shop already four times now for an issue that could have been taken care of and a happy customer to be made. Instead, you have me and my unhappiness. I am still expecting a swap for my car. I was in the market for a car for my grandchild's birthday gift but I am not at all confident with buying from your dealership. I have also reached out to the Rusty Wallace email on their website. I have also left a review on YELP and encourage folks to not buy from your dealership. I expected to enjoy my new car, but instead I am waiting for it to start leaking which was my worry to begin with. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We visited Rusty Wallace Kia yesterday to purchase a vehicle as we had just been in an accident the day prior, to be met with one of the worst experiences at a dealership we had ever had. Salesman was NOT knowledgable about vehicles on the lot. We test drove the vehicle we really liked, and was told we were not approved. We were then met with 3 options, which were cars in very bad condition. Almost seemed like a competition who could get the most lemons off the lot. The one in better condition, which was an 18000 car with almost 70k miles, wanted $600 a month on a 66 month term with no warranty. We told them we had already been approved at another lot for a 25,000 vehicle, we were essentially called liars, and finance tried to pressure us into staying and buying basically saying that we really wouldn't be approved anywhere else because "they had access to a bank that no one else in the area uses." Also told us that applying for financing would not hit your credit, which was also a lie. Thankfully, we went with our better judgement and visited the dealership that had already approved us(Carmax) and purchased a 2024 Tucson with 15k miles with a LOWER monthly payment than the 18,000 vehicle that we did not like, and also included a 150,000 mile warranty, coincidentally with a lender(Capital One) that Rusty Wallace said wouldn't even approve us for a $13,000 Optima on their lot. Would not recommend this dealership to *anyone*. read more

They also figured out what was making the noise in my front end!!!! After 3 other Kia dealers in 2 different states basically told me it was all in my head and nothing was wrong. Dishonest Dealer - Be Careful Here! I coordinated ahead of time about the purchase of a Kia Forte. I drove over an hour to get to the dealership (because they assured me the price they would sell me the car for). When I got there, they added $1000 to the price we discussed over the phone/via email. I ended up going back to Johnson City to buy a car from an honest dealer (Friendship Hyundai), where I got a much better car for the same money. Basically, they lied to me to get me out to the dealership. Terrible experience and I probably won't give Kia a chance again. Be careful when dealing with this dealership, they are not honest and will take advantage of you if you let them!! read more

Terrible customer service. They held my truck for a month and a half after I had paid for it, took the wheels and tires that I had purchased with it and are selling them behind my back. Truck had terrible vibration issues and they refused to correct the issue. Beware! read more

If you're thinking of going to Rusty Wallace Kia in Morristown, don't bother. This dealer has a lot of issues, starting with the salesman, who really didn't seem to give a damn about making a sale & had a very poor attitude! After telling us how other dealers to a bit of bs advertising & lie about specials, etc., he then tells us how it takes them over 20 hours just to order a car. Really?? Do you use carrier pigeon to send in an order? We are there already & the price was decent, so we decide to order the vehicle we want & leave a small deposit by check. We didn't receive any invoice, a copy of anything detailing what we ordered & when I called (several times over the course of a week), requesting something via email, I was told by the same salesman that they can't do that until they get something from Kia. I was not asking for a delivery date, just a paper showing that what we ordered was correct. Called again a few days ago & was transferred to the same salesman once again. He said he would speak with his manager & get back to me in 15 minutes. Needless to say, he never called. Later that day, we requested to speak with the manager of the dealership (twice) and never heard back. Nevermind the $25 gift card for the test drive that I had asked about 4 times. "We'll send it to you in an email". Called on that, too & no answer & no return call. They have ZERO customer service at this particular Kia dealership. My best car buying experience was at Kia on the motor mile, near Knoxville airport. Pleasant, helpful & knowledgeable people, good, easy deal without the saleman having to go to the manager for every damn question. I have no idea how they stay in business, but our new car purchase will be at a better, customer first dealership, closer to home. Avoid this place if you want a smooth, easy & honest transaction!!! read more

Rusty Wallace Kia sent me a personal letter offering 110% KBB and free oil change for appraisal on truck. A 90 minute drive I looked at 2 trucks. A Ram 1500 and a 2011 titan pro 33K miles, my trade (2010 Titan 22K miles). It has some hail damage but great condition otherwise. Three hours later after waiting on Ram to arrive and then considering Titan they offer 10K for my Titan (7K under KBB) and 29K on 2011 Titan Pro ( found a 2012 Titan Pro less miles at Twin City Nissan for cheaper). Nice employees but they definitely tried to screw me. Not heading back. I didn't need an oil change but they never offered or anything for my time and drive read more

They are perfectly willing to deal with us and make us happy regardless of how long it takes and provide a comfortable setting in which to check out all their vehicles and loaner car if needed while waiting on service/s.
