Great experience Honestly, I don't understand why there are bad reviews. Seriously, this is a super safe driving experience, it's not a real race against other cars. I received a groupon as a gift for this. The signup and check-in was hassle free. During the orientation they make suggestions for add-ons if you didn't purchase - insurance, extra laps, ride along, etc. I did add it all, and a video. I took one star away for two reasons - first, the ride along did give you an idea of the track layout before you got in the car, but the guy drove super fast (yikes!) and was not stuck to the same rules as standard folks, and secondly they forgot to do the gopro deal for me. I know nothing about nascar but do like driving fast when I can. The added laps were defininitely worthwhile, it took a few laps to get an understanding of the track so the add-on laps truly were the most fun. Everything was super safe - there were essentially two cars on the track at a time. I did not have to move to pass or be passed and the drivealong car whizzed by a few times on my right which was pretty cool too... There are other add-ons for insurance, (probably not needed, but then again...) photos, faster cars, etc. but I think the standard deal with more laps is the way to go. read more

Not a well run machine, which is ironic. Issues abound and they'll offer 3, 4 or 5 extra laps in make good. It's fun while being in the car but pretty damn frustrating for the many hours/days leading up to it. They cancelled the original purchase run date, ran out of gas for cars during the rescheduled date (we were notified of this after being there for 3 hours) then the third and actual run date had various minor issues that made the day frustrating. read more

In May, I buy my husband and nephew each a "one- five lap taste of formula TOS experience" gift totaling $278. (Expiring Sept I give them the voucher in June and they immediately call and schedule an appt. Long story short, they go, wait an hour past their scheduled time just to be told they can't race that day. No explanation, the woman at the counter was rude, and clearly lacked concern or customer service skills. They said they would receive an email to reschedule and did not give them any paper work stating THEY were canceling and a credit was owed. Two weeks later and two emails to them- they still did not receive an email to reschedule. Ultimately, I got my money back. Get your stuff together! Stop inconveniencing your PAYING customers! read more

A must do for any car racing fan. It is a lot of fun, but I'm not going to lie, a little intimidating. I would recommend going at an earlier starting time, as you won't have to wait as long. I did the 9am start time, arrived at 8:45am, and was all done by 10:30am. All in all, it was a great time. read more

Basically had a good time with few issues. Was told that a 3 lap ride along was a good idea prior to my 12 lap drive. I found this not to be the case, the driver did not explain any tips or ideas to make my experience better. The charge of $81.00 with tax was mostly a waste. My experience was good not great as my car was detuned and not very responsive compared to the cars used by the pros for the ride along sessions. My spotter made me drive a line on the track that was appropriate for non experienced drivers. No power was allowed to be used on the turns and the lap times and experience suffered. I was on the track with beginners who were afraid to drive the car at all fast but some times I had to follow the slower drivers for several laps as passing is closely managed by the spotters. The activity was expensive and I would choose not to do it again under the conditions listed above. read more

I raced 12 laps after purchasing through Groupon. Tis is the first time I raced with Rusty Wallace, but the second time I have done a NASCAR racing experience. I was disappointed with the Rusty Wallace racing. Check in went smoothly and our racing instruction started on time. We were given directions on how to drive the track and safety procedures. We were told that there would be one way communication from a person in the tower that would give us instructions while on the track. She was going to talk to us like she was our "mother." More on that later. We were told they usually have a crash every time and hadn't had their crash yet that day and were hoping it wouldn't happen with our group. A little disconcerting! We were issued our fire suits and told to wait near the track. They were running behind because of either a malfunction or spin out. I talked to a fellow driver while waiting who had driven a year before. Racing was delayed 4 hours due to a crash. After about a 20 minute wait, I was assigned to a car. It obviously had body repair work done. Was this an accident victim? Ok, I can live with that. After being buckled in I waited for instructions. I was the first to enter the track behind the pace car. I flipped down the visor on my helmet and it was either scratched badly or dirty. It was hard to see and now I was committed to going ahead. "Mother" was now communicating to all of us. She issued directions to us by our car number, so remember what that is before you get in! After one lap with the pace car, she told the pace car driver to go around again because "these guys don't know what they're doing." As soon as the pace car exited, she had me "lift and left" which meant take your foot off the gas and move to the left so you can be passed. She moved me over a number of times so I never got up to a steady, high rate of speed. The track markings were difficult to see when you're traveling fast. Since it's a flat, one mile track, it's more challenging than a mile and a half banked course, which allows you to keep up your speed. The entire time you're on the track, Mother is barking orders, scolding and threatening a black flag for noncompliance. It's very distracting to hear this and pay attention to track markings. Her communications could be heard through the pit crews radios and my husband later asked why we were all getting yelled at so much. During our training we were warned that if we didn't pull into the pit area when we were instructed (and took an extra lap) we would be fined $100. Unfortunately, one in our group did that and Mother promptly fined him. The pit entrance on this track is easily missed and the rest of us must have slowed too much so as not to miss it, because Mother told us to pick up the pace and get off the track. If I hadn't driven the Andretti-Gordon Racing Experience, I wouldn't have a comparison. I spent more money with Andretti-Gordon, but it was a thrilling, once in a lifetime experience I will never forget. I contacted Rusty Wallace customer service to share my thoughts. I got this experience for my husband for his 60th birthday. It was a racing experienc that he gets to drive himself. We made plans to do this in the Spring and something came up and the staff was wonderful to change it out. They were very friendly and very nice. That is where it ended. When we arrived at the track we were not told that there was a fee for parking. For $150+ I would think that would have been covered. Then the lines my God the lines and there is nobody to direct or tell you where to go. They did not have enough people checking in and it seemed one lady was more worried about counting the money than checkign people in. We were told by some people, to get a better feel for the car add a ride along to your package(extra charge). Then I told my husband I wanted the on board camera footage (extra charge) pictures (extra charge), Insurance (extra charge) and you better get the insurance with pros out there the chances or them hitting YOU are great (and you are responsible for the accident). I think the day we went there were 5 accidents. You can see the extra charges add up and I spent an additional $200+. Well they don't tell you that the onboard footage may not work. Ours did at the track we had them test it before we left. I even saw it. But the second I got home I tried to watch the video and it does not work. I tried 3 different machines. Nothing! I am NOT happy basically threw $60 into the wind and watched it float away. They were overwhelmed there were too many people and I came to find out that that reason was on the Friday of that weekend they had to cancel all races due to being locked out from the venue. So all those people filtered over to other race days. We were there for 7 hours. If I knew that we would be there that long I would have packed a lunch as there is NO food for sale there. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is my husband had a great time driving the car... In the end that is all that matters. But be warned I spent in the high $300's and I do not recommend getting the onboard video because it does not seem to work. read more

I'm writing on behalf of my brother to thank all involved with the "Rusty Wallace Racing Experience". My sister purchased the ride along package for him last year. On the day of his ride, just as he was about to get into the car, it began to rain. I think the staff at the "Experience" was more disappointed than he was! We re-booked and I was with him when he had his ride along this weekend at the Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin. I am still overwhelmed with the kindness offered and the enthusiasm shared. Mikey is mentally challenged and physically handicapped. Unable to walk independently, he is in a wheelchair. Not once was there any indication that this was going to present a problem. When it came his time to ride, all those involved were hootin' and hollerin' with him/for him. They had no qualms at all about scooping this little guy out of his wheelchair and getting him in through the window of that car. When his ride was over and the car pulled into the pit, he was greeted with the same enthusiasm. "Kenny" his driver was fabulous! Mikey was the last rider. Most everything was packed up and ready to go when his ride was over. Kenny hung out for pictures - and even insisted on more when he didn't like the way the first pictures turned out. We did not feel rushed at all. This was truly an experience Mikey will remember forever. Neither will his sisters - when people are good to Mikey our hearts melt with joy. it was a great experience the staff really help you get to know the track and it helps they have a person as your spotter talking to you through a ear piece. the only thing I didn't like is that too many people were on the track and they keep slowing me down so I couldn't pass till the spotter told you to. its a race car you should be able to drive the wheels off it and it was running out of gas so I had to limp it around on the last lap. they should have a few laps with only one person on the track so they can hammer on it . other than that it was a great time but the laps go quick read more
