I had first taken my car there when I noticed smoke coming out of the vents in my car. Having never…read morehad auto work done in this area, I had to do some research to determine an appropriate mechanic. It was obvious that Precision Auto had built such rapport with the area that they were my first choice. It's easy to see why. When you first enter Precision Auto, the professionalism of their business will almost take you aback. Their office almost feels like a doctors office, and when it's your turn to discuss your car, you get called into their main office, sit down in front of their desk, and you go over what you'd like to have done. As the classic "poor struggling" college student, sometimes dealing with car trouble can amplify the stress of academics. I was glad Precision Auto was able to internalize that and come up with a solution that best fit my car and my financial needs. I had brought my car in for a diagnosis to determine why there was smoke coming out of my vents. They gave me a quote for a diagnosis/written estimate. It was in the morning and I had to get back to class, so they generously offered me a ride to and from campus (Binghamton U., not super close). When I got back, they gave me an estimate of roughly $700. A "massive oil leak". I honestly couldn't afford it, and I only need this car to last a couple more months while I finish up school, so I didn't have them proceed with anything else. What happened next was what surprised me most: Absolutely no pressure to proceed with the repairs, in spite of it being pretty necessary. I asked them some alternatives, and they said that I could probably get away with checking the oil and topping it off frequently. I happily paid and went on my way. The experience of Precision Auto didn't stop there. This is an old car, it had other problems like shaky power steering, a "low coolant" light. When I got in, the power steering worked perfectly and the low coolant light was off. Despite my only asking for a diagnosis, my car ran better than it did when I dropped it off. Mysteriously even more so, there was no more smoke coming out of the vents. I still have to occasionally check the oil level, but the car was in good shape. I had taken my car down again for a cooling system problem. The guys once again were courteous and professional. After a slight miscommunication in what repairs I wanted done, they gladly discounted the repairs. After dealing with such professional and honest people, I'd highly recommend this shop for college students like me.

Two vehicles, three sets of tires, brakes, all the regular maintenance as well as the typical…read morerunaround "grease the chassis/gallons of wiper fluid" extra $150 labor/parts scam for about a year. (4) appoints in a row with the $100k vehicle; (1) Drivers door creased the entire length of the botton. Hinges twisted, door sprung so bad it had an air gap you could spit through. damage was visible enough i didn't have to attempt to open the handle to know. i calmly turned around and after the unbelievable run around on me as if I was crazy. upon "review of security footage", "split the cost with me", they resultantly made right. no apology but mistakes happen. (2) Inspection and tire rotation/alignment. Alignment had been locked out of it enough to bend an upper control arm, tie Rod and junk a spindle (none of which had I replaced as of that point; assuming if they were aware of the situation I'd be more than happy to have them take care of it. i was told all good no issue, straight as can be on the digital printout... double checked the run down on the work order i requested and all in 2-3 day time line they actually called me for once to have completed and ready to go for once. needless to say the broken tail light lens cover was the least of my focus. Tires never even came off prior to "alignment" of which couldn't be adjusted sitting on the rack. good thing it was spot on. (3) once I "failed" emissions as per the next routine inspection visit with no real problem or explanation; I should have know/seen enough. however a little odometer and half a tank or fuel "they needed to put miles on to reset" the computer wasnt enough; a technican took my vehicle home and again used to pickup pizzas for the whole shop for lunch that day as well. never did see what emissions issues all of a sudden went away (I forgot to return stock factory settings tune back in the vehicle from my laptop before inspection). more miles won't change that but glad i could sponsor the pizza party. (4) best trip yet. routine service. another set of tires and requested my take offs which was against protoco/unheard of/so foolis for that/another comment or two about my take off oil filters and oil too justified my sure "transmission flush"and filter" cost me an entire transmission rebuikd. ran flawless and recalls of any kind handled. never had any issues until five mikes after that trip. for good measure I told them I forgot I had wanted new cv axles too and brought it. back shortly after. the transmission issue was at that point; predictable and repeatable in a sequence you could set your watch by. reset settings and back normal for 9-10 mikes deoending on shifting to reach temperatur. i took it back all good without a code light or word. axles surprise surprise couldn't get done now for a week I just said that's fine I will take it for now and needed it for the weekend. as you can imagine the cover their ass required for another 82 miles. i was spoken to and yelled at, cussed at and told to go elsewhere with my business before the offfice managlent hung up. $1000 and a day later; the boys at Croteaus transmission service from diagnosi/estimate/turnaround time/ to price point and customer service completely exceeded even my best expectation. and don't be fooled by the $10 off mail discounts youll get after service as a thank you and mailed again once or twice as a good persuasive customer service scam. Only get to use one $10 coupon per month. not per vehicle service, per invoice , or even per second new set of tires-free balance and rotation with purchase.. as long as you do it yourself . Conclusion : Pete and the boys should for ahead and throw a pizza party for the mechanis and shop management at Croteaus and thank them for the job they did for one customer that instead of handling things legally or otherwise; you won't have to worry about restitution and as per your professional advice; to take my business elsewhere won't be a problem. Happy to take it here. stay turned for the play by play YouTube uploads from those last 3 service appointments mentionEd above from both the dash cam and go pro audio and video. Maybe the owner would have something to say by that point Instead of hiding In the back. $10 dollar off a gallon of gas coupon for the first pizza delivery I take his vehicle for the weekend to use. But only one coupon per tank full*. I'm sure you guys can handle this service and inspection order with Enough information to stay vigalent on those YouTube keyword searches to find the first one jsut uploaded for you to enjoy.
