I've been here a few times over the years and I wish they offered different portion sizes. Crab cakes: 5/5. As a Marylander, I know my lump crab cakes and these were a hit. If you don't like peppers in your crab cakes then you may not care for it but I DO so it was delicious. The portion size of crab cakes were fine. Sweet potatoes casserole: 5/5 This is the main dish I look for every visit, but I was upset the portion size. RC should offer a $24 option that's a bigger portion that actually shareable for a table of 3-4. The portion size provided is really only good for MAYBE two people. If you're ordering for two toddlers this would be perfect but for 2-3 adults...no. Mashed potatoes: 3/5 - I've had better at competing restaurants. House Salad: 3/5 - It was okay, nothing special. I wanted to get the brussel sprouts but they were cooked in bacon grease. Service 4/5: Kelly (I assume she was the manager) was great with communicating that the kitchen was behind on order before we even realized they were taking long. My grandma did have to ask for some tea a couple of times but our server apologized and made sure we were accommodated the whole night. The other assistant server packaged our food to-go as well which was helpful. Vibes: (3/5) Came here on a Easter and it wasn't that crowded. I sat by the window that had a view that looked over Reagan Airport. Watching the airplanes take off while eating was beautiful. I would like to see RC renovate this location as I felt a slightly "dusty" vibe. The restroom is somewhat far from the main dining room, which I'm fine with but I had an elder with me so it was a hike for her. It freezing in there so bring a jacket. Overall (4/5) : RC has great food. I wish they could add bigger portion size options and more healthy vegetables options that do not include bacon grease or cheese. My dining experience was just okay. My little group of 3 came in to celebrate 2 birthdays. They were really nice to put out some confetti on our table. Our server was sweet, but they were quite busy. With how busy they were, our server took some time to check in on us, but it was understandable. They have a few large dining rooms with tables and chairs equipped to accommodate different group sizes. The view at night over the city was pretty, but not quite that intriguing for me to come in and eat at the restaurant. For the price range, the food could've been better. We ordered stuffed chicken breast, sizzling crab cakes, au gratin potatoes, lobster mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole. We also ordered blueberry mojitos for drinks. The lobster mac and cheese was meant to be the main for one of us that has food allergies. It came out very soupy and bland rather than creamy and cheesy. The dish was sent back twice, but our friend finally gave up after. They offered to remove it from the bill, which our friend accepted. The sizzling crab cakes were your regular crab cakes. The stuffed chicken breast was actually quite a large portion, and my friend said it was pretty good. The au gratin potatoes and the sweet potato casserole were actually quite delicious. The sides were fine, but the steak (a bone-in ribeye at over $80) was just okay. It wasn't packed with flavor, wasn't cooked to perfection--just... okay. This is hands down my favorite Ruth's Chris--not just for the stunning view, but because the people here truly make the experience special. I didn't have a reservation when I arrived around 8:30 PM, so I was told the next available table would be at 9:15 PM. Instead of waiting, I grabbed a seat at the bar, and I'm so glad I did. My date arrived about 10 minutes later, and we were taken care of right away. Eric, the bartender, made the best Casamigos Reposado margarita it was perfectly balanced and smooth. I ordered the New York Strip (medium well), and my date got the same (medium). We shared the seafood mac & cheese, the sweet potato casserole (which honestly tasted like dessert--it's that good), and the crab cakes appetizer. I forgot to snap a pic of the crab cakes, but they were incredible--crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. I'm not even usually a steak person, but the steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Every bite was amazing. The sides were rich, comforting, and the perfect complement to the meal. And as a germaphobe, I've got to say--they passed the test! I was able to wash my hands and exit the bathroom without having to touch a single surface. The main thing I enjoyed was the service and view. We came early before 6pm and the main dining room only had 2 other tables when we were seated. Servers were attentive and the manager came to check on us during our meal, he was very friendly and helpful. The food- I was very disappointed that the French onion soup came out burnt- not just mine but the table of 4 nearby all had burnt bowls. The fact the chef thought it was ok to serve that disgusting bowl disappointed me. I love a good soup. I had to inform the manager and I didn't remember until now that I had a pic of said soup Ordered prefix and steak was ordered medium but overdone. Extra side Mac and cheese was more liquid than cheese. I understand some kitchens have to get in their rhythm but this was disappointing considering we were early and it's a steakhouse the quality and prep should be spot on each time even for a franchise. My experience at Ruth Chris wasn't unusual, but it was outstanding. There were other families there celebrating a birthday. The waiter did his best to help mark the occasion. We couldn't get enough of the view of DC at night, watching the planes come and go sitting high above national airport. There is a nice spot for group photos as you enter the restaurant. It was a little unusual coming off the elevator on the 11th floor to an office space but we found it by listening to the music and letting it lead us there. I have visited 9 Ruth's Chris Steak Houses in 4 state plus the District of Columbia, each on multiple occasions and this visit on Mother's Day at the Crystal City location was absolutely the worst dining experience kekver First we were eaten 45 minutes past or reservation time. because they overbooked the restaurant, Once seated the 4 of us ordered the Ruth's Classics, lobster bisque, filet with petite lobster tail, creamed spinach ir garlic mashed oitatis and cheese cake for desert. Things really went off the rails after ordering, we sat and waited for soup for what seemed an eternity.. Mains and sides were delivered with no mention of the soup, finally the water told us the kitchen was making more soup and finally after much prompting he asked of we wanted soup now or if we wanted to take it home. We opted to take the soup home, which turned out to be a mistake. I should have asked for a second desert to take home, because when warmed up today, the lobster bisque was inedible. The rest of the food was very good; but missing and ultimately disgusting first course left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope this was just a one off bad experience and is not reflective of a decline in service and food quality with Ruth's Chris, will wait a while before trying again but not at the Crystal /cuty location. read more

I have nothing NEW to report and, even better, NO COMPLAINTS. We are NEVER disappointed with their service or food. The calamari, sweet potato casserole, and garlic mash, are still top notch. 1st time sitting at the bar as I've mainly come for dinners with others. The steak sandwich and fries were delicious along with the Caesar salad with my 9oz pour of Daou Cabernet. The bartender was good but definitely not as wonderful as having a dedicated server. The bar was busy from the crowd that took up all the seats but 2. Thankfully, I was able to grab an end seat. Would I be back at the bar? Sure if I'm solo again or if I craved a steak sandwich or burger. Otherwise I would prefer sit in the dining room with a dedicated server anticipating my needs. I can't believe I have Ruth's Chris a 4. But here's why... Their steak is and was very good. The sides were good. Though the price was higher than say Outback (shocker right!) it's I found it was cost appropriate and really you don't here if you can't afford it. So why a 4. It's all about experience. When I go to a Ruth Chris I expect a little more than just a dinner, ia expect a heightened experience which I did not have. The service was normal, the server adequate and I gave a 20% tip but there was no WoW in the entire experience. I can't articulate what would constitute as WoW service you just know it when you see it and when you experience it. Ruth's Chris still has one of the best steaks I've had but when compared to the other upscale restaurants I've been to they lacked in creating a great dining experience. I heard good things about Ruth Chris so was excited to go there for dinner. It's worth noting that the restaurant is located on the top floor of the building so you'll have to take an elevator up. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a great view of DCA. The service here was mediocre. Bread and butter came out promptly but there was no bread and butter knife provided. I refilled my own water as we ordered a bottle for the table. No one can to clean off the bread crumbs, the plates we used for appetizer stayed with us the entire meal and we didn't get new silverware after our appetizers. Not what you'd expect at this kind of establishment. We ordered the spicy shrimp and ahi tuna to start. The shrimp was not that spicy and wasn't crispy. The ahi tuna was great though! Def the best thing I had that evening! Fresh with great flavor. For the main entrees, we tried the ribeye and sea bass. Both of these came sizzling at 500 degrees with was exciting, however, both were over cooked. My medium rare steak came out medium well. It was also chewy and not tender. Flavor wise, it was seasoned well. The sea bass was nice coated on the outside but unfortunately, because it was over cooked, the texture wasn't great. I felt like presentation could have been better for the entrees and sides. We ordered cremini mushrooms and the asparagus but there wasn't any room for it in the main plates and didn't get clean plates to share. The food was outstanding and piping hot. My husband had New York strip. I had a medium ribeye.. I give it a four star because strip had non-chewable fat. My steak was medium well not medium. Therefore it was very tough and chewy in the middle. I ate the outer part and took the rest home. I am not throwing away a $71 steak. It edible the next day once reheated. Our appetizer was the veal ravioli which was outstanding. The garlic mashed potatoes were very delicious. The hollandaise asparagus was very refreshing We were limited and getting appetizers due to the fact that my husband has a seafood allergy.. most of the appetizers were made with seafood. However, the veal ravioli did not disappoint.. The hostess were very friendly and we received it right away . The superstar was definitely our waiter Issa. He was absolutely fabulous. This chain has declined in my opinion. The food was mediocre, the tablecloth was dirty, the lighting was too dark and the supposed "dress code" was not enforced. Additionally, there was a group of young adults in the corner with streetwear on (including hats) and a young lady sitting behind us showing much more than excessive cleavage. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday & was immediately seated upon arrival (had a reservation). We arguably had the best table in the house with amazing views of the river & front row seats to take-offs/landings at the airport. Despite being busy, our server, Aziz, was very attentive. We started with calamari as an app. It was delicious! Super crispy & I loved the sweet/salty/tangy sauce that gently coated it. I ordered from there prix fixe menu - house salad, filet & lobster, dessert. They made a mistake & brought out a filet & shrimp but promptly fixed the issue by bringing a lobster tail within minutes. They even let me keep the shrimp & Aziz came to apologize. Hubby ordered filet to be cooked charred blue & they nailed it. As for sides, you can never go wrong with their cremini mushrooms & creamed spinach. It was all downhill from there as the food was not up to the Ruth chris standard - the mashed potatoes were decent but the sweet potatoes had way too much sugar in them, and the asparagus was undercooked. Ruth's Chris Steak House is noted for great steaks and fine dining. This Ruth's Chris is located on the 11th floor of a large building in what I assume is downtown Arlington. However, being as this was my first visit here, I couldn't swear if this was downtown, or just normal Arlington? Reservations are always recommended and especially these days with so many businesses having employee shortages. We made reservations for 4pm (opening time) and after arriving we were seated in a large open room with towering windows. The table and proximity to the windows provided a great view of the adjacent Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. It was interesting and captivating to watch the endless arrivals and takeoffs over the Potomac River as it neared nightfall. Our waiter did an excellent job of explaining the menu options and getting our drinks. I decided on the Bone-In New York Strip Steak (medium), and for sides, I chose cremini mushrooms and asparagus. I ordered a glass of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon to drink. Everything was very good. The steak had great flavor and taste but I was a bit surprised at how "un-tender" it was. I was expecting a juicy and tender steak, but found it a bit of a challenge on the "tender" factor - hence my 4 star rating. I would definitely put this on my list to visit for special occasions. Sadly I have to give this poor review on this establishment. It's very disappointing coming to a restaurant that's known for its service and food and not getting the expected results. First, our reservation was for 8:15 but we didn't get seated until a little after 9pm. Once we were seated in our private room, we were greeted by our waiter about 10-15min after sitting there. Our drink orders came back maybe 7-10min later. We then placed our food order. At this point it's nearing 10pm so we ordered everything at once. Our food came out around 10:15. I'm tired and ready to go because I was super irritated. On to the food.....this was by far the worst meal I've had at a steakhouse ever! I had crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms, spinach. I tasted the Mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts that my friends had. When I say EVERYTHING was bland and flavorless, it's not an exaggeration. On top of that, the crab meat in my mushrooms was spoiled. I took one bite and almost gagged. You could even smell that It was bad. I didn't notice until someone else asked about the smell. I sent those back to the kitchen of course. This was very disappointing and I was livid to pay these prices for this "meal". I went here on Valentines Day. After I ate, 5 minutes later I had to run back into the gym where I originally came from I had gotten sick. It was a mess. I thought upon. The food was not that tasty . You have to follow your instincts. I should have went to Morton's Steakhouse. I wear a diabetic sensor and I needed to eat fast. What a big mistake. I was so sick after I ate. I do not recommend the sweet potatoes dish, lamb chops or Brussel sprouts . I called back to the restaurant and the manager was very nonchalant and just didn't give a hoot. My food was also room temperature. I should have sent it back, if my blood sugar was not dropping and my sensor was not beeping I would have. The coke machine wasn't working properly. That diet coke was terrible. I set. At the bar because I didn't have a reservation. The bartender staff were all nice. I will never go back there again and don't recommend that location.
