We ventured over here after meeting up with a few of our couple friends over at Harbor Social. The menu was so limited there we decided to venture here for dinner. I was a bit hesitant at first given my first experience here but I guess it's safe to say they redeemed themselves with this visit. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My hunnie opted for the salmon with rice and veggies and his veggies were pretty good. I went with the buffalo shrimp, baked potato & caesar salad. We all ordered cocktails and I ordered a few celebratory shots for the birthdays our friends recently had. My green tea shot was in perfect! lol We sat outside. Update: September 17, 2026 I previously posted a spectacular review concerning how great the staff and a particular bartender/server was at Redstone American Grill National Harbor. Well... this is how things have gotten over the past couple months. I am a very regular patron, visiting 1 to 2 times a week on average, typically Thursday and Sunday. I enjoy the food and atmosphere. I know many of the staff and the management team, and we warmly greet each other every time I visit as well as chatting with several other regulars that call Redstone their local place to socialize and enjoy the patio bar, food and atmosphere. Recently, there have been additions to the restaurant staff that have begun to diminish the quality of the service and many of the locals, have noted the same things. This past Monday afternoon, I decided to stop in for lunch and a couple drinks. I again chose a patio seat and what started as a very enjoyable dining experience became one of my worst. The AM/Lunch bartender/server was as expected awesome, attentive and a pleasure. I sat chatting with one of the regulars, as we both enjoyed sitting at the patio bar. The first bartender informed us that she was ending her shift and asked if minded close out, which we did after sharing a laugh or two about her leaving us. This is where things took a huge left turn and only spiraled down from there. Because of where we were sitting, it allowed other guests to sit on both sides of us. We began chatting with them, together and individually. I was chatting with two guests to my right, laughing and truly enjoying the afternoon, while continuing to drink and conclude our meals. The PM bartenders were not very attentive and at times we had to call them several times to order another round, often feeling like they were intentionally avoiding us. One of them unfortunately was a bartender that has been very bad since she first started a months or so ago. Between intentionally avoiding serving me to completely making my drink wrong. I normally have Woodford Old Fashioned but that day switched to a beer on draft. I requested another beer and excused myself to the restroom. Upon returning my beer had not been delivered and the two guests I was chatting with said, that the bartender come back to them and stated, "she did not like the person they are chatting with", (meaning me). The guests were surprised and did not know why she would be telling them that, because other than ordering my beer, I had no interactions with her. They also had to ask again for the beer that I requested and what they were drinking, which was finally made and delivered. This bartender since arriving, has been notably nasty to me and other guests. I personally watched her throw menus on a table and she has terrible customer service skills. I have had more than a few situations where she either intentionally left the bar to avoid serving me or took an exceptionally long time delivering my drink. I have spoken to the management team more than once about how she has been. The comment about not liking the company they are chatting with is not acceptable in the service industry and show very little professionalism. With all the incidents that have occurred and the service received from the very first time she arrived is truly unacceptable and I would not suggest that anyone go dine there. With so many good places at National Harbor, it's very sad that I have to post this comment. I have not confronted or spoken disrespectfully to her. I have tolerated her consistent low-levels of service and disrespect. I enjoy the food and views and guests on the patio, which is why I have been returning. But I know when she is on the bar that it will not be a pleasant experience. I did have one of the other bartenders tell me a few weeks ago, to just go to the other bar when she is working to maintain the levels of service that are normally provided. I will just find another restaurant to patronize. I have spent to much of my time and money in a place with a bartender that does not like me, for whatever reason and is openly saying it to other paying customers. At this point, I would not recommend that anyone spend their hard-earned money at Redstone National Harbor, MD, especially if this is the new culture. I certainly will not be patronizing this establishment again. As a traveling Food and Beverage Training Director and Restaurant General Manager, this is the type of service that is hurting our industry. Redstone needs to invest more into recruiting and training their staff to maintain and elevate the dining experience. Not just fill vacant positions with individuals that have no hospitality skills or abilities. read more

Didn't know what to expect, but I took a lighter choices from the menu--soup and salad. Not impressed with their lobster bisque. Very little lobster and it had a vinegar taste which I wasn't sure if it was what it was supposed to be like or if it was bad. So that went back and the french onion soup made up for it. I got the filet salad and the meat was not good but at least the presentation was. So that was another bad choice. Fortunately the buffalo shrimp was super delicious. I'm visiting here from Sacramento, I know good food, this place right here, MAN THE FOOD WAS AMAZING, I got the spicy tai noodles with added grilled shrimp, and it was perfect, it had the perfect kick and everything, loved that it came with chopsticks, I loved the food, our server: Simmie (sorry if I spelled it wrong) she was amazing as well, real knowledgeable of the menu, real nice smile and service, and I've never been to a restaurant where they offer us a hot towel service, she squeezed lemon in my hand and told me to take a hot towel and rub it in my hands, that' was great never had that before l, it left my hands clean and smelling good, the drink i had was the cognac side car, really good, loved the sugar on thee rim as well, will return to this place for sure when we comeback out here -1Love PS give Simmie a raise she deserves it (sorry if I spelled it wrong again) read more

Came with a large group, and the staff worked extra to make sure everyone got fed and requests were honored (e.g. food allergies, fresh glass, more water, no ice, etc.)--sometimes this led to them duplicating each other's efforts. The good: the buttery rolls came out hot and smelled amazing; they can make a lactose-free version. The salmon and ribs were good, and of the plate of delicious desserts, the banana cream pudding was a standout. The midding: the vegetarian noodle bowl was a very large serving compared to everything else (one person remarked that it seemed bottomless). Cocktail menu was interesting, but my colleague's nonalcoholic cocktail was a miss. The bad; Someone else's chicken was undercooked. The salad greens were drenched in dressing, so I just ate the cherry tomatoes. The white rice and mixed veg that came with my salmon were just meh. Tried Redstone American Grill and honestly... not the best experience. I'll start with the good--Sen at the bar was amazing. Super attentive, great energy, and the drinks were really good. That was easily the highlight of the visit. Now the rest... we came during the week and were told there was about an hour wait for the patio, even though multiple tables were sitting empty. We waited by the bar near the firepit for 45 minutes to an hour, watching at least 8 tables stay vacant the entire time. When we asked about it, we were told they had to hold for reservations... but those tables were never used. It just didn't make sense, and the way it was handled by the hostess and management was disappointing. Sen really saved the experience from being a one-star review, but overall, the service outside of the bar needs work. We weren't able to try the food. read more

I came here for lunch while at a conference at the Gaylord and had a beautiful water view and an amazing meal. Service was great as well. We started with some buffalo shrimp, which I loved and probably could have eaten several portions of the appetizer as my main meal! So good....the blue cheese that was on the plate was great too. For my main I had a ginormous southwest chicken salad that I didn't think I'd be able to finish but it was sooooo good that before I knew it, I'd finished the whole thing. The nice server offered dessert and I had seen the guy next to us get some kind of cookie skillet thing that looked and smelled delicious but I had to pass. Next time maybe! I've been here SO many times and have always enjoyed it, but tonight was just a total disappointment. We arrived early for our 6:45 reservation and were seated accordingly, and our server was quick to come over, so it felt like we were off to a great start. Unfortunately, that didn't last very long. A second server eventually had to come over to take our drink order, and then it was another ten minutes before we even got our waters. Our appetizer took a while as well. They were nice enough to bring us more bread, but otherwise, it felt like our server(s)--I'm honestly not sure if the second person was actually assigned to our table--were MIA for most of the night. Our food took forever to come out, and to make matters worse, there was a screaming baby in the booth behind us for a good portion of the meal. Somehow, the table with the screaming baby, who was seated after us, managed to finish their entire meal before we did. The food itself was great, which is why I'm keeping this at two stars rather than one, but the overall experience was a total bust. The bathroom was a mess, and the A/C was clearly not working, so the ambiance was pretty terrible on top of everything else. We would have ordered more drinks and dessert if the service had been better, but it genuinely felt like they forgot about us. And it wasn't just our table--another customer came up and mentioned that they had been waiting about 15 minutes for their drinks. At that rate, what was even the point of making a reservation if we were going to be treated like an afterthought? Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

Came here for a group lunch and left thoroughly impressed. The waterfront view with the Ferris wheel backdrop alone is worth the visit, but thankfully the food more than holds its own. We started with the **buffalo chicken wings** (crispy, well-seasoned, served with blue cheese and ranch) and the **Korean-style cauliflower bites** tossed in a sweet chili glaze with sesame seeds and scallions easily the table favorite. The **beef short rib egg rolls** were a fun twist, served with two dipping sauces and pickled peppers that gave it a nice kick. For mains, the **bistro steak with chimichurri and frites** was cooked a perfect medium-rare and the herb sauce was bright and punchy. The **shrimp scampi pasta** was creamy and rich with perfectly fried shrimp on top. The **steak Cobb salad** was loaded sliced bistro steak over lettuce with eggs, cherry tomatoes, corn, red onion, and blue cheese crumbles. Generous and satisfying. Don't skip the **skillet cornbread** it arrives in a Lodge cast iron pan, golden and slightly crispy on the edges, with a scoop of whipped honey butter that melts right in. Absolutely worth it. Great atmosphere, solid service, and a menu that has something for everyone. Will definitely be back. read more

This place is right on the water in a prime location, but the only really good thing about it was the view (which was really nice). For being in Maryland, we were disappointed with the crab dip which was mostly artichoke and cheese with very little crab meat. The grilled chicken on my salad was very dry and unseasoned (had to cover it with dressing and tabasco sauce). The turkey mushroom burger my husband got had a mushy texture, but was at least seasoned well enough. The drinks were nice, with a variety of cocktails. The kids chicken tenders looked good and got eaten, so that was a plus. Unfortunately, I also heard from my family that the men's bathroom was extremely dirty. read more

My family and I were staying at The Gaylord and decided to dine at Redstone for dinner. It was a freezing Friday evening around 8 and we were seated within 5 minutes. Jimmy was our server and he was awesome. He told us that he has been working at Redstone since they opened 11 years ago. He was the best part about the evening. It's beautiful inside, there's a big fireplace at the entrance to keep you warm while you wait to be seated. The seating is plentiful and we were seated at the window overlooking the Harbor, it was beautiful!! We ordered drinks & appetizers, then our entrees. Everything came out in perfect timing. We started with the Bacon Brussel Sprouts and the Crab Dip for appetizers. The Brussel Sprouts were delicious, the Crab Dip was ok. For entrees, I had the Redstone Burger, it was cooked perfectly, but no taste really. One of my family members had the Shrimp Scampi, the shrimp were big and fried to perfection, the scampi it self was ok, a little dry. My other family member had the Chicken Pesto Bellagio and had to ask for more sauce. She only ate a few bites. Again, the ambiance and the service were perfect, but the food was just ok. read more

This place was fine. We had reservations but still waited forever to even get water. The service was really slow. They were busy, but I do wish they could hire more people. I was I could say that the food was worth the wait, but it was just okay. I got the chicken sandwich with hot honey but I didn't taste any hot honey and the bun was pretty dry. In all honesty, they did our server, Ron, dirty and assigned him another table way too far away from our party of 10 ... so he was unable to adequately accommodate us. No fault of his, but beverages were missed, refills were slow, 2 orders were forgotten. *Sigh* As for the food ... LOVE their menu additions / updates (crab dip, etc.) but we all agreed we'll skip Redstone's food moving forward. Everything was mediocre and lacked seasoning. The ranch wings had NO flavor, the barbecue sauce on the barbecue wings was good but the wings were just as unseasoned as the ranch wings. The buffalo shrimp, brussel sprouts and cornbread were decent, but it was just too much hit or miss with everything else we ordered. Suffice it to say, I was not a fan this time. However, I would absolutely return to chill and enjoy some cocktails in their outdoor space. NGL, that fire pit area is prime real estate at the harbor! Would love to hear YOUR opinion. They have a great location, right on the water. We had 2 waiters helping us, both super friendly. One of them walked me to the bathroom to show me where it was. They have a lot on their menu to choose from. My friend had the french onion soup, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We shared the fried cauliflower appetizer which was good. I had the short ribs au jus, with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I'm used to short ribs being prepared differently, so it wasn't what I expected, however it was tasty. We were in their "party section", so it was very loud. Wouldn't sit there again. There is a paid parking garage nearby. And the restaurant is right by the ferris wheel, which we rode. read more

You have to try the Braised Short ribs! Before you dig in take time to enjoy the aroma of the dish. Our ribs had a nice smoky aroma. Order the Blue Moon on tap. For me there was a very nice freshness to the tap. The restaurant is in a very nice location on the pier. If you can make it during sunset ask for a table by the window and enjoy the beautiful view. I popped into Redstone on a Saturday at noon. I saw a brunch menu on their site, but probably didn't pay close attention to the fine print. Brunch wasn't being served, so we settled for lunch. Nothing looked too appetizing, so I opted for a rotisserie chicken salad. I eliminated the tomatoes and raisins. When the salad came out, I was extremely disappointed. It was full of iceberg lettuce, chicken scraps, corn and cornbread croutons. It was awful...I didn't finish it. I could have eaten a handful of arugula and been more satisfied. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy it, didn't finish it and ate as soon as I got home. The salad was $20 and should have been $5 (really free). The waitress, Phoenix, was super sweet. Went with a group for brunch. The hostess and the waiter were great. We were a few minutes late for our reservation but were seated quickly. It was extremely warm in the dining area, and it's 95 degrees outside. You could see people fanning themselves with menus trying to stay cool. That was strike one. Two of us ordered the chef's brunch. It comes with French toast, eggs, sausage, hash browns, and fruit. You can have unlimited servings of whatever you ask for. Sounds good, right? My food was pretty hot so that was a good start. I tasted the hash browns first. Flavorless, dry, crusty. Then I tried the eggs. They were scrambled with cheese. Edible. The French toast...dry. The turkey sausage met basic expectations for frozen turkey patties. The fruit was the best part. So I asked for another serving of everything except for turkey sausage thinking that the first plate was just a fluke and the second one would be better. No, the same dry, crusty, flavorless food. That was strikes two and three. Coming here was my idea since I have had good experiences in the past, but I ended up regretting suggesting it. Picked this place because it was a central location for some friends to meet up. When we arrived around 12:15pm, it was pretty empty. Amazing food and fantastic lemon drop but honestly, quite possibly the worst dining experience we've ever had. * Warm beer * Uncarbonated whiskey and coke * Sat at 7:30, ordered no later than 8 and that's being generous, and still didn't receive food until 9:17. They close at 9. * One of us received the wrong order and had to wait longer * Another received their side with our check which came out 10 minutes after getting our food. But don't worry they took it off our over $300 bill. Good god Redstone, that's the best you could do?! I will never eat here again, and I will never recommend this restaurant to anybody. Do I blame the waiter? Only partially. Because with what we experienced as a whole, terrible management and terrible kitchen. Update: I don't know how to respond directly to you Ryan but unfortunately our party of 7 was only in town a few days to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. Truly though, the lack of service couldn't have been lost on our server or your mngmt that evening (unless we were just that ignored and overlooked sitting in the middle of your outdoor space) because it should've been made right that same evening with even a simple apology or explanation for the night as a whole by your manager. By far the most amazing staff. My server. I'm super sorry if I spell her name wrong [Kaitlyn] took very good care of us. Our food came out super fast and I'm glad we listened when she suggested the Cajun Ribeye. I was celebrating my wife's birthday and she made us feel like we were the most important people in the room. The manager was extremely nice to us as well. He was very patient with us even after my wife had a few and decided to attempt to tell him her entire life story. He was able to still be accommodating and even suggested a very good desert option. The Key Lime Pie that we requested for her birthday celebration was top tier. Please do your best to keep this staff as long as possible. They are an asset to our community. The prices are affordable and that entire staff deserves national recognition for how smooth the establishment is running. I felt like I spent one star prices for five star service. Thank you for making this place affordable and hiring the right people. PS...... DO NOT EVER FIRE THAT CHEF. I'm pretty sure if I was lost in East Cambodia Looking for an East Cambodian Bull that was specifically from East Cambodia. Absolutely unacceptable and humiliating experience. My fiancé and I came here yesterday and were told there was over an hour wait for a table, so we decided to sit at the bar instead. I ordered a drink and food and was simply waiting for my order. While waiting, I looked toward one of the female bartenders because we were trying to see about our food. Out of nowhere, she began loudly screaming at me, "STOP LOOKING AT ME!" in front of other customers. I was completely shocked and embarrassed. My fiancé immediately explained that we were waiting for our food and that was why I was looking in her direction. Instead of apologizing or de-escalating the situation, she continued yelling at and berating us. We were so uncomfortable and humiliated that we left immediately--without even staying to eat the food we ordered--and I was STILL charged. I have never been treated this way at a restaurant. A customer should be able to look toward a bartender while waiting for their order without being publicly screamed at and humiliated. The behavior was completely unprofessional, hostile, and unnecessary. I will never return to this restaurant. Management seriously needs to address how customers are being treated at the bar. read more

Good and prompt bartenders but the food was extremely slow. I sat at the bar thinking that would be quicker. They were out of the rotisserie chicken so ordered a pasta and still quite slow kitchen. I enjoyed the vodka pineapple juice martini. Also it's a very loud atmosphere, even late. I want to say that the bartender was very efficient and very nice so props to her. But I think the kitchen needs work because my shrimps campy was actually spicy for some reason and it took a long time. read more

I was here for a work dinner and we were a group of seven people. This was walking distance for us as we stayed at the Gaylord right by the Harbor. We started by ordering a round of drinks and order the shrimp platter as well as the chicken wings platter. The shrimp platter honestly blew my mind because the shrimp was deveined (it isn't very common in restaurants) and very flavourful and fresh. The chicken wings platter came with three different kinds of wings with different dips, and it was pretty good. I was pretty full with the amount of shrimp I ate, but for mains, I got a salad along with a side of salmon - the salmon was very fresh, well seasoned.. my salad was alright. My colleagues were pretty impressed with the food we had out here. For desert, a bunch of us ordered the tiramisu, and I could tell that the mascarpone within the tiramisu was still frozen, which was a bit disappointing. Our server Sophie as well as the bartender were very friendly and kept checking on us. They also had some great recommendations for a group, our size. Overall, this was a good spot to dine. Today will be the last time i eat at this establishment. Trying to settle the bill was absolutely ridiculous! This is no reflection on the very nice staff and excellent service we received. I arrived with a large party which I understand can present challenges. However, the restaurant was nearly empty so they should have been grateful for the business. The manager explained to us there was 1 check per table and a 5 credit card limit per bill and we were ok with that, however, we didn't understand that they meant they would split the check evenly among 5 cards. Our party included. families of 2, 3 and 5. Eventually, we gave them 1 card and worked it out among ourselves. I don't understand why a restaurant would have such a policy but I'm sure it benefits them without consideration for the customer. read more

We had seen a review that customer service was lacking but we took a chance anyway. We walked in and there were 3 women at the check in desk area. No one greeted us. After a couple minutes, we were asked "how many" in our party. Since we were 10 min late our reservation was canceled which we understood. We sat at the bar and the two bartenders working were attentive and friendly. We ordered a burger and wings- both were good. Restaurant with a nice view of the harbor. Clean and classic interior. Went on Thursday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. We were seated promptly since we had a reservation for a party of 12. They started us off with a selection of drinks which the waitress impressively memorized. I just wish the drinks were on the menu. Service was efficient. There were a couple of requests forgotten (I.e. serving an extra onion soup, a drink request, and takeout box request). But other than that, staff were friendly and helpful. Not pictured, but the bread rolls with butter were fresh. The house salad was delicious with a fried candied pecans that stood out to me. My one complaint would be that the dressing oil and vinegar kept separating so those who poured first just got a lot of oil. The French onion soup was very delicious! I got the grilled salmon, which was cooked well. Not over cooked. The grilled veggies were a good accompaniment. Like most things in the National Harbor area, they are on the pricier side, but as expected with many business folks in the area. read more

Went there for dinner on a Saturday and was very pleased not to have to wait more than a minute or two for a table for 6. I picked this place amongst the others in National Harbor for the menu diversity including the kids menus. In that I was not disappointed. We were introduced to our server who commented she was tag teaming with another ("double trouble" her words not mine) and she took our drink order. Later the other server came over and introduced herself too and offered to take our drink order. This was probably the first flag. The drinks felt slow to arrive and we were definitely ready to order once she came back with them. She tried to give us the "I'll give you a few more minutes" thing but we forced her to take our order instead. The food also seemed slow-ish to arrive. I ordered the chicken sandwhich and maybe I am biased by the chicken wars but it was not super flavorful but I was full when I was done so I guess that's what you want? Two of our party ordered the Braised Short Rib Pappardelle because they wanted to try the short rib without paying the huge cost of the short rib alone. Both thought their meals were good. The kids orders seemed good as well. The older child had been poaching food off others plates most of their visit, but this one they did not. It could be coincidence but I hope speaks to the size and fillingness of the meal. I know they got burger sliders, I can't remember what the other got. No drink refills were given. We were done and waiting a long time for the bill. Not sure if the conversation was dying or not but it seemed a really long time. After we got it, it took them a long time to collect the card and charge it as well. Party of 6 gratuity is automatically included. That is their choice and perhaps normal but we were eating out for nearly a week on this trip this was the only place that auto-charged us. Just mentioning, I don't actually care, because as my Dad has said in the past, I probably would have tipped them more than they auto charged anyway. Ultimately the food was good but it was super slow. That lands us at 3 stars. I hope that was our "double trouble" but I am not sure I'd go back to this place because of that unless I had a lot of time to kill. We stopped in for dinner after seeing the ICE! show. The place was packed but was able to get seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was loud. The reason for the 4 stars was because of the service. The service was pretty bad. Other than taking our orders we did not see much of our waiter. We had to ask other waiter/waitress for stuff. On top of that we were told to pay cash tip if possible. It was very off putting when we barely saw him. Food was delicious. We tried to make the best of our evening despite of the service. Ribs, jerk Chicken fondue, wings, and Buffalo shrimp were all very good. We were not a fan of the fried Cauliflowers. I think our service was not the norm for the restaurant. We see other wait staff working hard at tables. read more

French onion soup 7/10 Lots of onions, ton of bread. Either there wasn't a lot of broth or the bread soaked it all up. The cheese on top was a little burnt. Steak Cobb 9/10 Good flavor. Steak was tender and cooked great. Loved the smoked onion ranch dressing too. read more
