RV General Store "Service Center" of Newcastle, Oklahoma, was extremely unprofessional, and in my opinion unethical. Employees are untrained, no full disclosure, very bad experience, shame on you, RV General Store! First issue, I took the RV in for Hail damage repair. My RV has an upgraded hitch system, the service employees were not familiar with it, so they wanted to charge two hours of labor to disconnect and two hours to reconnect the RV. I showed them how to do it (3 minutes), then I helped them get the hitch connected to the forklift, they almost forgot to put the pin in that holds the RV to the forklift. I pointed out that the pin was missing to hold the hitch in place and the employee standing there said, "oh ya!" I should have known better then, there would be a problem. Second, according to my insurance company (AAA) RV General Store was charging double the amount of labor needed. Third, I was NOT told of a $275 fee for the trailer inspection, when I requested to see a written agreement, they argued, and said they had no signed paper, but would not release the trailer, until it was paid, and added that the RV General service writer employee that received me; upon drop off, was "not the best" service writer. Fourth, hooking my trailer hitch back up to my truck, I discovered that a bar on my hitch was bent, I pointed this out, and the individual helping me said "how could we have done that?". Fifth, my hitch utilizes safety pins to keep from unlatching and I left them in place, so that it wouldn't come disconnected, while they were hauling it around the yard. They were missing when I picked up the trailer and when I pointed out they were missing, the individual that was helping me said, "Why would someone take those?" and "I will sell you more." So, they were hauling the trailer around the yard without them, obviously, not concerned about it coming unlatched. I had to find something to work in place of the pins I had and stop at Walmart on my way home to buy some locks. I bought a new RV in July 2023 from RV general store, I have had one disappointment after another since, not only with the Gulfstream Rv but with RV General Store as well. The Rv lacks in any quality and is poorly built, I have owned it for less than a year and had to fix the bench seat to the dinette after it broke the first time I sat on it. It should have supported more weight than I put on it, my weight is under 200 lbs and the weight rating well exceeded that, the finish on the cabinet door bubbled and split, and now the battery that came on the RVwont take charge and has to be replaced at my expense. When I bought the RV, their sales girl came in to sell me all the extras she could and did manage to sell me a weight distribution hitch which I'm. it sure what cost because they buried the cost of it in the RV price, but what I do know is if she would have told me this hitch weighed half my body weight and that I might have problems using one this heavy, but then there wouldn't have been a sale and I guess that matters more than their customers satisfaction. I have called RV General Store to no avail or help with any of this. No service after the sale I guess. no future business I know. read more

Their Gulfstream Rv is a piece of junk and there is no service after the sale. Very disappointed that I was sold a hitch without the proper education about the hitch that would have alerted me this hitch would not work for me due to the massive weight of it. I also expect to get more than a couple uses of the camper before it started to fall apart and more than 8 months before I would have to replace the battery on it at my expense. It also would be nice if businesses wouldn't just blow you off and leave you to fix these problems on your own. No more business from me nor anyone else I can encourage to buy elsewhere. read more

Never use their service department I took my trailer in to get fixed over $10,000 for all the work that need to be done and they don't even want to work with you on getting it fixed to make a payment plan or anything so don't waste your time effort or money going to this place they are a joke and they will charge you $1,500 saying they looked at your trailer and this is what you got to pay to get your trailer back thanks for wasting my time when I could have already had my camper fixed y'all don't care about customers you just want money. read more

They gave me a fair trade and the sales process was really good. They did try to upsell me on installation of something but they did negotiate for something more reasonable. The service department is hit or miss. Once it was an easy in and out, no troubles. After they got new employees, in the service department, it was a different story. I asked for updates. I had to follow up with many calls before anyone answered. Even that was ok and understandable. However, when I pointed this out to one of them he raised his voice when I began to comply with his request to prove that I had asked for this. Mind you, I never raised my voice & I wasn't rude I was just stating the problem so that we could resolve it. This was just unkind & made no sense. So just don't have problem or if you do don't say anything. Fogettaboutit! Even tried to speak with a manager, to see if we could resolve. Never got a call back after 2 more calls. Got charged for some silly things too. The maintenance department did get most everything done except for one thing, which I figured out on my own. read more

You can save money with Amazon but don't bring that up to them because they get mad and say "We're Not Amazon!".. literally the exact same heated water hose is damn dear double the price than what it is on Amazon at this place. read more

I live in AZ and in early 2018 I found a new 2017 model Thor Outlaw motor home at RV General in OK for a pretty good price after looking for some time. In talking to the salesperson I asked what changes had been made to the 2018 and his response was "I'm not aware of the changes for the 2018 model". He informed me there was a RV show coming up that weekend and if I wanted to hold the 2017 model I would need to put a large "down payment" on the 2017 ($5000) via the web site on my credit card. So I did. There was no policy for non-refund of money through this process and the sales person had my sign and fax back a "Sales Quote" sheet for the RV which had a notice that OK does not have a cooling off period for vehicle sales purchase contracts, meaning once you sign the sales purchase contract and take the vehicle there is no change of mind and refund. Fine, we hadn't got to that point yet. I booked a flight to pick up the RV a couple of weeks away and in the mean time I researched the differences in the 2017 and 2018 models which was hard to find as it turns out. The differences (new features added) turned out to be pretty significant and items that I'd want (which is most likely why the sales person played dumb and wouldn't look into it for me) so I called the RV General to talk to my sales person about getting a 2018 instead and he was away, so I talked to 2 other people and one guy said they didn't have any 2018 models in that floor plan and that he would look into ordering a 2018 from the factory for me (never heard from him again). I followed up with an email to my sales person the next day (Sunday) and the following Monday I got a call from his sales manager. As it turns out the Thor factory apparently isn't going to make the "H" floor plan any more (the one I wanted) and was only making another newer floor plan. The sales manager got very crappy with me when I said I had found a 2018 H model close to me and if his dealer couldn't get one then I wanted a refund and to buy the local one (for more money, but it had more new features). He said I had signed an agreement saying if I changed my mind I couldn't get my money back and you really don't want to do that do you, loose $5000??? I was very upset at his attitude and tone with me and told him I would take care of it from my end. A quick call the next day to an attorney and then to Chase Bank for a dispute to the charge was all I needed to confirm that this was a total shyster move on the part of RV General store's sales manager. I lost the cost of my plane ticket but I finally got the RV I wanted and didn't have to do business with that place, thank goodness. read more

Great experience! We had been shopping for a travel trailer for several months & finally found the model we wanted @ RV General store. Michael McCracken was so easy to work with! We live in Frederick, OK which is about 2 & 1/2 hours from the dealership. They made things so easy for us & had everything ready for us so we only had to make 1 trip. From the sales staff to the service department to the finance folks...we were treated professionally & with respect. There was an air of excitement for us & our new purchase. We purchased a new Thor RV in June 2019. It turned out to have many factory defects. It has been a disaster trying to get it fixed. We have gotten the run a round from both the dealership and Thor both blaming the other for the delays. We are unable to enjoy our huge investment and are disappointed with the quality of the coach as well as service after the sale. Buyer be ware. read more

The 1st and most important thing I can say is there are PLENTY of other RV dealers in the State of Oklahoma and even the region (Texas and Colorado) that I would buy from IF I COULD DO IT ALL AGAIN. I would recommend this place to browse and look inside RV's as they do have a good selection, but that is where the positive review would end for me. I bought a Travel Trailer in 2016 from RV General Store and have seen 1st hand how NOT to treat customers AFTER THE SALE. The service department has been everything from incompetent to outright deceptive in their 'RV WARRANTY FOREVER' slogan, which means you will be paying 'RV General Store' $199.00 bucks a year for as long as you keep your RV and want it covered by the LIMITED warranty. But there is a new catch to how they can continue to grab more money from your pockets AFTER THE SALE!! Their new policy of charging 'shop hours' to look at warranty work ($140.00 per hour to look at your RV, even when it's covered under their warranty OR under the manufacturer warranty) is simply double-dipping and tantamount to gouging the consumer, in my opinion. I have called the 'NWAN' company (the company that handles all warranty work/claims/payments) and told them of the new policy issue at RV General Store. They were surprised that a policy was in place where customers were paying for 'shop hours' while the RV was under the umbrella of the NWAN Warranty. I have been more than patient with RV General Store. I have tried to keep my composure while dealing with the service department but enough is enough. As I write this I hope and pray that 1 person will read and shop and research and understand that there are other places, better places (my opinion) to shop and buy. I have tried to give the people at RV General Store the benefit of the doubt for the better part of 3 years. The new policy of SHOP HOURS and redundant billing/warranty coverage/charges is too much to ignore. Today, I was told by Zuri that I could always take my RV someplace else for the work to be performed. For me, that was enough for me to write this review and hopefully point others in a more educated direction for their RV purchase or RV service work. An RV (travel trailer, motor home, 5th wheel) purchase should be fun, exciting and set you on a path of adventure, not be a project for the RV General Store shop guys to tinker with and forget about and charge inflated and unreasonable amounts of money to simply LOOK at a problem. Read and believe the reviews, do your research, don't impulse buy, don't be lured by a sale or discounted price, don't purchase all the extras the finance department offers, secure your best finance rate BEFORE you even start to shop and think about buying. read more

This is a small family owned RV dealership. I was traveling in my 3-week-old new Thor Tuscany motorhome, and the driver side mirror started vibrating violently and fell off within a matter of seconds into high-speed driving. The manufacturer arranged for overnight shipment of a replacement mirror. Despite that I did not purchase from RV General Store, they installed it the next day in less than 3 hours. If I could, I would purchase my motorhome from these guys due to their service, family ownership, and the fact that they offer a lifetime warranty free on any units sold ($199/year Inspection fee.) read more

I bought my Thor Compass 23TR new from RV General in 2016... They've done numerous little tweaks as well as some pretty majors things like installing solar panels. I've even called them from across the nation in Oregon and Texas for advice when something happened. As it turns out later, they weren't big problems after all...thinks like i couldn't get the a/c or water heater to work right because it was new to me. They've always helped me out and done a really good job. I've never regretted buying from them. Often I'm a solo female traveler, i appreciate them being there for me. They just put me down for roof vent cover installation at a great price in a couple weeks. Love these guys! Had a great experience with our out-of-state purchase of a pre-owned RV. Our salesperson, Preston, was incredibly helpful and responsive. The entire team from financing to sales management worked with us to get our inspection done. Their front desk professional, Crystal, even took it upon herself to personally help with last-minute shipping coordination when it looked like our shipper would arrive after0hours. The initial purchase experience was satisfactory. Received trailer in December 2020. However, there were multiple items (electrical outlets) that were not working, that required the trailer to go back in for service/warranty work and to comply with there "Warranty Forever". The warranty work was completed and I was notified to come get the trailer on a Wednesday. I advised the service writer that I would be in the following Monday to pick the trailer up. When i got there I was told that they could not find my trailer. Then they told me that they been broken in to on Friday night. That's when they figured out my trailer had been stolen. The worst part of this deal is that the general manger and service manager never apologized for any inconvenience. I was just told to contact my insurance company and make a claim. Nothing else, they offered no other help. Very frustrated and disappointed! read more

To whom it may concern, As a family, I can honestly say we live full time in our Rv. We own a 30' bumper pull, have traveled 30k plus with our travel trailer in two and half years. We have met all kind of people, sales men, but none like the individuals who sold us our travel trailer. WE WERE VERY WERY OF RV GENERAL STORE AT FIRST when looking for someone to repair the floor of our trailer. RV GENERAL WAS REFRESHING, KIND, PATIENT AND WON OUR TRUST! They were very knowledgeable, taking the time to show us the process, allowing our family to meet the mechanic to explain how he repaired our floor. Tom, thank you for leading the service dept. Outstanding Service/Warranty Department. We are full time RVers and needed warranty work done. RV General Store Service/Warranty Department made it happen - and got the work done in one business day so we didn't have to get a hotel or be delayed in our travels. They were professional, communicative, efficient and overall very pleasant to deal with. If you own an RV you know going in for service is usually a nightmare. Our experience here was fantastic.
