My husband I had lunch there today-we ate in, as they have a few tables. It was very clean, bright and the staff were friendly. I got a cheesesteak with fried onions, he got a pizza steak, and we shared an order of onion rings. Everything was delicious! The sandwiches were so packed with meat and the right amount of cheese, the roll was soft and just barely contained the steak. The onion rings were crunchy outside and the onions were tender inside. I thought it was a good attempt at making a chicken cutlet sandwich with provolone and broccoli Rab if you don't cook the broccoli properly, you can't eat it if you're gonna put the branches in you have to cut them long ways blanch first and then sauté in garlic and olive oil. I'm not gonna say I'm not gonna come back, but with all the competition popping up in the area I'd pay attention to the details. A young woman inside saw me and ran, yes ran, to the door. She opened it and said, 'I am sorry but we are out of hoagie meat and only have seeded rolls.' I said, 'Perfect, I want a cheesesteak on a seeded roll.' She said, 'come on in.' And they have parking and bathrooms. Super duper bonus; $13.99!! Third time's a charm!! After two unsuccessful visits (to no fault of their own - busy from great reviews and me waiting too long to place my orders) my third visit was well worth the wait! I've tried 4 sandwiches after hearing great things about each one: Old World Italian, Cheese Steak, Roast Pork, Chicken Cutlet and they were all great! First off, bread often makes or breaks a sandwich for me and the bread Ry & Howie's used is top notch. The pictures associated with my review are all the regular sized sandwiches and as you can see they're very large. The Old World Italian was the best Italian Sub I've ever had and my personal favorite of the four. Meats overflowing and draped over the sides of the sub. Not dry but easy to eat and not sloppy or soggy. The cheese steak is stuffed with fresh sliced ribeye and loaded with melted, gooey American cheese. I'm a big fan of the sharp provolone they use for their Italian sub, chicken cutlet, and roast pork sandwiches. The broccoli rabe on the cutlet and roast pork was cooked perfectly and added a great, slightly bitter and garlicky flavor as well as great texture. The chicken cutlet is house made, fresh, and provided great crunch. It's not overly big inside but does have seating for customers. I would suggest calling in your order ahead of time and don't be like me by waiting until later to place your order. I feel lucky that Medford is becoming a place many new businesses are opening up and Ry & Howie's is going to do great here. I haven't been able to stop thinking about their Old World Italian and will be back to have another one soon. read more

Stopped by Ry & Howie's Steaks and Hoagies after visiting our grandson, me and the wife split this stupendous #meatmissile cooked wonderfully. Very cheesy and well seasoned very good size as well. The roll was soft but perfect and held up all the way through. Lots of perfectly diced onions slightly sweet beauties. Also split the housemade chicken tenders and loved them just as much. Great crispy exterior and still juicy inside. Well seasoned batter and very large for the price it was a bargain. Thankfully its very close to our kids place and will for surely be back very soon. Some of the best sandwiches I've ever had! We happened to be traveling in South Jersey, and we noticed they were having their grand opening. We're always game for something new, so we stopped to give it a try. The counter staff had service clearly under control even during opening week: they were friendly & professional in taking our order. The white-paper-wrapped sandwiches are pretty innocent looking until they're opened, and then it's a hoagie-lovers dream come true: tons of meat, crispy fresh toppings, and the most amazing crusty, yet chewy, bread. We tried the Old World Italian, the Cheesesteak, and the Roast Pork with broccoli rabe. Any of the hoagie/sub/sandwich chains pale in comparison due to the taste of the obvious quality ingredients. The french fries were perfection as well: crispy, but not crunchy. The owners (who were also staffing the kitchen) took a few minutes to talk to us, and their passion was obvious. Both are former professional chefs, and it's evident in their product. It did not start out well. I called to place an order and was immediately put on hold for longer than 5 mins. I arrived and placed my order in person. Now I was not expecting it to be fast but I had to wait over 30 mins for two steaks and an order of fries. The bag was pretty heavy and the steaks were much larger than I was expecting. Got home and the sandwiches and fries were both amazing. Not better than Lillos but pretty darn close and blows anything else in the Medford area away. The food was worth the wait and I think once they get the staffing worked out it will be much smoother. I will be back and you should give it a try. read more

We ordered two Classic Italian Hoagies (one with hot peppers and one with sweet peppers) and a Cheesesteak with Fried Onions. The rolls are very big and nice and fresh. I only ate half of my Classic Italian Hoagie which was very filling for me. I will enjoy the other half for another meal. My guys were able to eat their entire sandwiches. We all found them nicely filled with abundant ingredients and tasty. We bought our sandwiches for pickup online. The staff was very friendly when we arrived to pick up our order. Great Philly Cheesesteaks. The sandwich portions are large can easily feed 2 or save a half for another meal. Partial to cheese whiz and they put the perfect amount on it. Did a recent take out from Ry and Howe. We called to place the order. Ordered a cheesesteak with fried onions and a classic Italian hoagie. Both were very good. We enjoyed it and we will return. . I did tell the people there, who are very pleasant and very nice and my order was ready when I walk through the door that a few things that would be helpful on their website is if they told the size of the roll since that information was missing, I was reluctant at first to order, thinking that I may end up with a tiny little sandwich. Nothing could be further from the truth . Order from there and you will be happy. Next time I am trying the old world sandwich which after I talked to them I realize that it's basically a specialty hoagie, but since they had it listed under sandwiches, I really wasn't sure.
