I was excited to knock another local cheesesteak spot off my list for lunch, and based on the reviews I had hoped I was in for a real treat. Ordering ahead of time was easy, and my food was hot and ready when I arrived, which I appreciated. However, the parking is a bit of a problem, since the storefront is tucked into a narrow alley off Route 70, and there were a couple of close calls with cars while I was pulling in. The cheesesteak hoagie was $20, and sad to say, other nearby spots are putting out a better sandwich at that price point. The bread was not toasted much and the sandwich just was not as full as I expected. The meat itself was not bad, but it missed the mark on flavor. I also grabbed a danish off the counter as a last minute treat, and it did not taste anything like it looked, with a very bland flavor and almost no sweetness, more like a plain piece of bread. Overall, I would pass on this spot, especially with stronger cheesesteak competitors in the area offering better sandwiches and a more satisfying experience. read more

Claims that reached me all the way in Baltimore. They said it's a cheesesteak worth traveling for and lucky me, my good friend lives nearby and was down for a lunch meetup. Her words, at my suggestion to meet up at Chick's, were "Definitely, that place is amazing but... How'd you hear about it?!" They clearly do tons of pick up orders and stay busy despite being an off peak time. It took a while to figure out if I was standing in the right spot. Sad to report that the cheesesteak has gone down hill and the price through the ceiling. Dry, overcooked, and the cheese not mixed in to the steak very well. Hard to believe they brought this out to me while I was eating in the restaurant. I guess they had it partially wrapped with the bottom of the roll up as to not show this mess. I'm very disappointed in how this places handles lost property. I had left my card tracker that you put inside your wallet outside this store, I did not realize I had left it for about a weeks time, as it had slipped out of my wallet and is an item is intended to always stay in my wallet. It is not a device you actively use, which is why it took me a week to realize I had misplaced it. An employee of theirs had picked it up and was holding it inside of the store for whoever had lost it to pick it up. I came back to the store yesterday to look for the tracker in the parking lot and could not find it in the parking lot, even after sounding the alert sound that beeps so you can find your item. I then go inside the store to ask an employee if they had found it, and they say that in the past five minutes that they had BROKEN my property because it was making noise. At that point that it starts beeping, it is CLEARLY an electronic device that belongs to someone. To BREAK it as a solution to it making noise, and the owner and employees' only explanation to be that it was there for a week so they thought it wasn't important, is unbelievably irresponsible and unprofessional. The Chipolo card tracker costs $39, and when I called to talk to the owner Ken, to simply ask to be reimbursed for how much my device costs, he refused and sides with his employee who made this dumb mistake. It is not a very expensive item, and I was more than valid in asking for the money it would cost to repurchase my item THIS STORE BROKE, yet he refused and said they don't owe me anything. If I had left my phone, or watch, or gaming device, or any other device, regardless if you don't know what it is, for a week and it started making noise, would your solution be to BREAK it? They could have put it in the back away from customers as an easy solution, it does not beep forever. I myself have worked in food establishments such as this one and this is not the right way to go about lost property. Unacceptable and honestly infuriating, I will not be coming back here. read more

Amazing I have never been here before!!! What a cool place!!! Definitely a 10 on the Dive vibe!!! Old school with friendly workers who love what they are doing and take pride in their product!!! First up was the cheesesteak... not the best I've had but far from the worse. Very tasty with a solid roll which we all know is crucial for a great sandwich. My only critique was the meat was a little chewy and not the melt in your mouth type of other places a solid 7 The surprise of the day was the seafood salads . This came highly recommended by a friend. When I found out it consisted of fake crabmeat I was vey hesitant but one bite and I was hooked !!! He said I got a spot and so we went the inside is your local daily, They make cold sandwiches but they're Cheese Steaks is what people come here for and they were delicious. I got the seeded roll. They weren't stingy with the meat either cheese on point melted perfectly. I got the cheese steak hoagie let's just say if you want a cheesecake come get it the inside not too fancy but that's why their so good. It's a local gem. They've been here since 1957 so delicious. It's been a few years since my last visit. I've been craving cheesesteaks so it's time to revisit the neighborhood favorite. Construction on Rt 70 means parking in the alley is the easiest access. I am all about bang for the buck in today's economy. This was just under $15 for a cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp and the roll is about a foot long. My sandwich was nice and juicy with the cheese evenly distributed. Flavor was solid. Points off with the meat distribution mostly in the middle and maybe the sandwich could have had a bit more meat. Location is down this little alleyway with lots of parking. The place isn't a looker but the folks were friendly, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. We got a regular cheese steak with mushrooms, and a chicken cheese steak with broccoli rabe and provolone. The chicken cheese steak was yum, especially with the rabe, but my heart was won over by the mushroom cheese steak. Highly recommend. NOTE: They will be closed from August 17th to the 24th for vacation. Finally made it to Chick's and luckily I did today because they will be closed for a week starting tomorrow. I ordered an Italian hoagie and it was good but not great. The bread was good but not as fresh as it could be. There was a nice chew to it. There was just enough meats in it but not overflowing the provolone was aged just right. I would go back the next time I'm in town and hopefully they have fresher bread. Co-worker highly suggest the sandwiches here and they did not disappoint. Now I have been told the picture doesn't give justice to the buffalo chicken cheese steak but it was good. Sorry, but terrible. It truly was terrible. Two large subs and they had little to nothing on them. A complete rip off. No peppers, no garnish of any kind. No overflow like the PICTURES portray. I had heard about chicks four years and I thought I would give it a try. I know they have a great reputation and the cheese stick was good. Hi a cheese stick by the amount of cheese that's with the steak. It is called a cheese steak meaning that there is cheese with the steak. Take a place like Peppino's in Marlton. Absolutely out of this world tasty. The steaks cooked to perfection and the caramelized onions were amazing and it blended together well. My wife got the chicken cheesesteak and not only was a nice size but the chicken tasted fresh instead of the frozen type that other places I've eaten at have used. The hoagie rolls were light and chewy, the meat was cooked perfectly and not steamed like other places. The quality of the meat was very good. The size and the amounts not of meat were generous servings. We coupled the sandwiches with chips, drinks and Tasty Kake peanut butter pastries as dessert. We had never visited Chick's Deli or a cheesesteak shop on the east coast so we weren't too sure how to order. They explained their process, took our order, served our food and gave us a little background on Tasty Kakes...very nice people. After driving 4 hours each way from New York for an event in the area, I came here for lunch after asking around on Yelp for a good Cheesesteak place near Delran. I wanted an awesome cheesesteak. Perhaps I had my expectations a bit too high. I thought this place would be a dive-ish restaurant but it turned out to be a deli with some seating on the side. When I arrived around 2:30 on a Saturday it wasn't too busy but within 15 minutes they were swamped. They must be good. I ordered a beef cheesesteak (they have chicken ones too) with mushrooms and had a bag of Utz chips along with a fountain Birch Beer soda (yay for Birch beer!). Service was quick and I had my sandwich in 5 minutes. It looked big, and it was. The meat was chopped fine, but that was okay. I am not a cheesesteak connoisseur but it seemed a little under-seasoned. I only noticed at the end salt and pepper on the table (they were hidden behind the napkin holder) after watching another guy literally pour salt on his sandwich. Ugh. Still, something seemed off and I couldn't place it until a nearby table received their sandwiches and server asked "who has the sharp provolone?" Then I thought "I was never asked what type of cheese I wanted" and then Bingo... my sandwich didn't have Cheese Whiz. It had sliced white American cheese. I prefer Cheese Whiz. We got very lucky to grab a table, but I can imagine a scenario where we'd have had to wait a long time for a table in the small dining room. The clientele is classic New Jersey/Philly area, which is perfect for that local feel, unvarnished by tourists. The cheesesteak itself is perfect. The meat is chopped, flavorful, and a big portion. We got the cheesesteak with American, I'm not sure how else you can get it, but American Cheese with onions is the way to go. The bread has a nice crust to it; the perfect balance of hard and soft. The bathroom is right next to the broom closet in their dining area, and it's very tiny. I found it strange that we didn't pay as soon as we ordered, but after they gave us the cheesesteaks and we ate! I guess they have a lot of trust in their customer base. In addition, Chick's has some of the inexpensive cheesesteaks around. For a cheesesteak and a drink, it came out to under $10/person, that's very affordable, and for that price, it's deliciously good. Chick's Deli is a hidden gem in Cherry Hill. No really. For first-timers, it could be tricky to find because it's in a strip mall right behind another strip mall that's facing the main road. But just follow your Google Maps app; it's actually leading you to the right place even if may not seem like it. On our way down for a Philadelphia day trip, my girlfriend and I decided to stop by this cheesesteak spot. I came across some articles online and saw that this place was voted number 1 for best cheesesteak in New Jersey, so I had to come try it for myself to judge. They had a lot of different sandwich options on their menu to order. However, we wound up going with a classic cheesesteak and a buffalo chicken cheesesteak. It was about a 15-minute wait, which was expected for a Saturday. I liked how you could see them freshly make your cheesesteaks. Once the sandwiches were ready, we couldn't wait to try them. After a few bites, I was blown away. Their cheesesteak is amazing. So juicy, so flavorful, and just delicious. No ketchup needed, as it just melted in your mouth. And to top it all off, the buffalo chicken cheesesteak was even better. This was definitely my favorite of the 2. Loved the chicken, blue cheese spread, hot sauce, and how everything just belend together with perfection. Such an amazing sandwich this was. Cheesesteak is pretty solid 8/10. I would eat it again but it's not the best, according to my palate. I like my steak to be rough chopped and a bit more marinated, and the sauce a bit more wet. However for a local place this is sufficient to satisfy my cravings. I had a cheesesteak on seeded roll, with Cooper sharp cheese, mushrooms and fried onions. Decently priced $14-16 for pretty big size. Service is very friendly and fast. The place is like a deli with some tables added, it's in a small alley and not on a main street.
