It comes with the cucumber namasu but be sure to add on a scoop of their crab salad! Their garlic wave and lao style poke were two or my faves. Ryan and his wife are always so kind and truly give off the best version of Hawaii to everyone that visits. My friend ordered a poke bowl with the Garlic Wave as well--fresh, flavorful, and packed with a nice garlicky kick. The star of the visit, though, was the Tsunami Poke Nachos. I had messaged my friend, Joe P. to check them out. It's bad if I recommend this place and not try it myself, so... here goes... When you reach The Sugar Mill, go to the left, towards First Hawaiian Bank. Ry's is behind the taco vendor. Service is FIVE STARS! Ryan was there with his wife! I had seen him on Instagram and he is just as friendly in person as he is on Social Media! He's genuinely bubbly and enthusiastic! He was patiently pleasant to every customer! There's a shared, covered dining area with picnic tables and benches. It is outdoor dining with humidity and flies. That's how it is. I ordered the Tsunami Poke Nachos. The pickled cucumber had run out, so I received extra crab salad. It was okay, but the cucumber would probably balance out the flavor more. I personally thought that the unagi sauce was overwhelming. I liked the Furikake, tobiko, and chips! The Poke had a few sinewy pieces. I asked for no chili mayo, so it didn't hurt me. Overall, it was a good experience! I was fortunate to be off on Presidents' Day and decided to pack up the fam and take the journey to the North Shore and that hope Ry's was open. Well , well, well, guess what....Ry's is open! Braddah Ry was very friendly and as a first timer, he asked key questions to get an idea of what kind of poke to recommend me. So he offers me something not even on the menu! I was like, Whaaaa??? Explained what was in it and said if you like spicy, like really, then you'll like this. I said, give me a half pound of that and I'll take a poke bowl with two other choices, Limu (gotta have my limu) and the Garlic Wave. He threw in some pickled cucumbers and a scoop of imitation crab poke. I waited an another 10mins for my order, which wasn't bad considering how busy he was. He called my name, I walked up to the front and he assured me that I will like the off the menu poke they made me. He said it's spicy but I didn't want to go overboard since he didn't know my tolerance for spicy food. He asked me"Chopsticks or Fork?" I asked for two chopsticks, in case my kids like try. He said I'll give you a fork too, just in case you like pound this plate. Mah Man! As soon as I opened up my plate and container, took couple pics, it's was all she wrote. The poke here was Ono! Service is top notch, quick and down to earth. Ambiance is a food truck park and there are plenty of picnic tables everywhere. I ordered the Firecracker bowl. It came with both ahi (tuna and nairagi (striped marlin). Food, taste, and texture is everything and then some. This is one place you want to make sure and visit. Just bumped into this place after stopping for restroom. The owner is very friendly and chatty. He is very nice and kind and made suggestion of what I can choose from. Incredible poke and staff. This husband and wife duo are very hardworking and provide the freshest poke in the Kahuku Sugar Mill food truck location. The fish is very fresh and so flavorful. If you don't know what to order just get the shoyu poke bowl. The poke nachos are also great. Personal fave is the kabayaki poke with rice - it also comes with pickled cucumber and imitation crab salad. Very friendly, sometimes there are long lines, but it is well deserved and worth the wait. This experience was just WOW, and not in a good way. We got there on a Sunday just before 12:30 and there was a line of maybe about 10 people. We didn't think it would take long but boy were we wrong. It was a 40-minute wait just to order. We ordered the Tsunami Poke Nachos (fresh shoyu poke, sweet onion, sesame, avocado sauce, chili mayo, unagi sauce, furikake, green onions, crab salad, pickled cucumbers, and tobiko). This took another 15 minutes. I don't know if they were just backed up or maybe they were cutting up the fish back there, but they mentioned they had just reopened and this was their first day back. So maybe that's why it took so long? On top of the long wait, it wasn't even good. They use basic store-bought tortilla chips, it was just way too much sauce, too little poke/tobiko, and too much crab salad. I guess they needed the crab salad as a filler. And it costs $29! Maybe their poke bowls are better? I won't be back to find out though. You're better off getting yourself some Foodland poke. read more

There were a lot of signature bowls but the owners recommend the do-it-yourself custom creations. Service is solid, ingredients are fresh, and portions generous. It's a food truck stop setting so lots of parking and seating in a fun atmosphere. Ry's is located against the Main Street between the taro hut and a good drink place. Food truck area near Giovanni's Plenty of parking, porta potties are clean and have running water! Friendly service, takes maybe 5-10 minutes because as Ry says, everything is made to order. I would expect it to take a bit longer if it's a busy day. Now the poke flavoring is phenomenal. Tons of flavor, lots of garlic, perfect amount of sweet and salty. Mayo wasn't overpowering at all either. The pickled cucumber had a nice acidity to cut down on the flavorball of the poke. The best thing is, the rice is good too. It's plain white rice but it's not too soggy/soft, not undercooked. I've noticed my previous go-to poke spots are TOO SALTY even with rice. Rys is PERFECT. A nice accompaniment to rice, but just as delicious without it. 12/10 coming back for sure. All my go to places have been downgraded.
