I got there just before the rush, which worked out perfectly because I was able to snag a seat inside before the place filled up. Ordering is quick and easy thanks to their tablet system. It was super efficient, especially when things get busy. My son joined me, and we decided to go all in with a 2-combo poke bowl featuring spicy garlic and spicy mayo. I chose a mix of ahi and salmon and added avocado (for an extra charge, but absolutely worth it). Every bite was incredibly fresh, and the salmon in particular just melted in my mouth. The bowl was nicely rounded out with salad and rice underneath: simple, satisfying, and done right. My son went with the katsu curry rice, and of course I had to try a bite. It was hearty, comforting, and full of that rich Japanese-style curry flavor that never misses. He also grabbed a spam hand roll, which he gave a big thumbs up. No7 Poke n Roll is, in my opinion, the BEST poke on the island. The fish is always super fresh, tender, and never drowned in sauce. When they do use sauce, it's just the right amount: flavorful, a little spicy, but not so much that it hides the taste of the fish. Even the rice deserves a mention. I'm usually not a rice fan at all, but here I could eat it by itself. Another thing I like is how they cut the fish. It's not the usual cubes, but more like rectangular slices. Somehow that makes a difference in texture and taste. My go-to is the Miso Spicy Poke, but during a time when we weren't eating fish, we tried the tofu poke. I can say it was the best tofu I've ever had in my life. The space inside is small, so we usually just take our poke to the beach. A tip: don't forget utensils! They don't automatically put them in your bag, and once we forgot and had to eat with a kid's spoon (not fun). Parking is surprisingly good for Haleiwa (there's a big lot in the back). Ordering is done on touchscreen kiosks. The first time was a little confusing because you have to manually select your fish before it lets you continue, but after figuring that out, it's been smooth. We went on a Thursday for lunch. It wasn't busy at all. To order, there are screens in the front with pictures which is nice. It was easy to order. Even though it wasn't busy, the employees did not welcome us at all which was a bit disappointing. For the poke, we ordered the poke combo which was a crunchy spicy ahi, and a hamachi. For the price, it was not a lot of food. And they didn't have any free water so you have to purchase a water bottle. Our matcha and vanilla ice cream came out almost immediately, but we waited about 25 minutes for our sushi. During that time, we noticed another customer who ordered after us receive her poke before our food had even been started. My daughter politely went to ask about our order. The employee had to look up our receipt and then told her they would make it. She kindly asked about how much longer it would take because she has ADHD and does better with a general time estimate. When she asked if he could be a little more specific than "a few minutes," his response became noticeably more stern. That interaction was disappointing. To their credit, the staff brought us two additional ice creams on the house, which we appreciated, and our sushi arrived a few minutes later. While I appreciate the gesture and truly enjoyed the sushi, the overall experience left me feeling unwelcome. That feeling started when we walked in and continued throughout our visit. I can't say what anyone's intentions were, but that's honestly how the experience came across to me. I have no doubt this restaurant will continue to do well because the food is excellent, and I wish them success.
