Went tonight on a Saturday right before they closed. Very little wait, tons of parking and still stuff to choose from! Pricing is very fair- under 40$ for a ton out of the case to try. Everything was really delicious!

This place was hopping and I think they misplaced our order for a bit. Our service was significantly slower than those we entered with, but staff noticed, checked on us, and corrected it without me needing to bring it up. Food was very good: best Loco Moco I had (of 3) while on the island. Portions generous. Both the blueberry cream pie and the chocolate cream pie were fantastic. The family was split on which was best. Just a storefront with shaded seating out front. They have parking!

I always enjoy stopping by Ted's for a slice of pie when travelling back from a North Shore day. The chocolate haupia pie is one of my favorites along with the lilikoi cheese pie. Today, I had the chocolate haupia and it was tasty. The whipped cream on top is decorative and not too heavy, and the haupia is nice, although I do wish it were more coconutty. The service is never particularly pleasant. The workers seem unhappy to be checking people out, at least every time that I go. However, they are quick. I will give them that. Ample seating outside, although there's usually a lot of leftover trash from other people who have eaten there earlier. A good stop if you are craving pie by the slice at a reasonable price.

Stopped in to Ted's after hearing all about their amazing pies and turns out we were in the mood for Pancakes! The ordering system is quick, step inside and they will take your order and give you a buzzer. Then you can step out to one of the many picnic tables while you wait for your order to be ready. After that you just head back inside for pickup. When our Pancakes arrived they were impressively huge. Definitely enough to share and legitimately some of the best Pancakes I have ever had. The coconut syrup also goes great with the pancakes. Since we got the combo we also got two eggs and sausages. Overall Ted's is a great stop and I would definitely return. Highly Reccommended!

We stopped by this famous bakery on the North Shore, where they offered so many pie flavors that it was hard to choose. In the end, we shared a slice of the chocolate macadamia nut cream pie, which was rich and full of flavor. Next time, I'd love to try the Strawberry Guava Cream Pie.

Idk wasn't my favorite. Staff wasn't really friendly. Loco moco wasn't that great, the gravy was really tasty. Pies were okay.

They have a ton of options for pastries and pies. The coffee was quite tasty too. They have a cute wall of Local Hawaii jams, honey, shirts and magnets to bring back gifts. They had a line before they opened but they have great service. They are famous for pies and I was not over the moon for it, but the guava danish was next level delicious.

Yes you are missing out the Coconut Haupia Cake. It is so delicious and you have to try it. It's not too sweet and the coconut flavor is delicious ! We got lucky to get some around lunch time. Be sure to show up earlier before they sell out. Parking is plenty usually and there is a patio outside with benches / tables.

Sweet treat, quick to grab, not too sweet with great flavor, nice and cold. Wide variety of options but the pies are for sure the star of the show. The chocolate haupia cream pie was a perfect addition to our trip

Ted's Bakery was a quick stop along the North Shore drive and 100% worth it. We grabbed pies to go and got the lilikoi cheese pie and the chocolate haupia cream pie. Both were delicious and not too sweet, which I really appreciated. The crust was dense and held everything together well, and the cream fillings were light, fluffy, and refreshing without feeling heavy. Perfect treat to bring along for the drive. I'd definitely come back to try the strawberry guava next time.

A casual, outdoor Hawaiian restaurant with lots of different lunch/plate options. Lots of birds and chickens flying around and walking at your feet waiting for crumbs. Each plate comes with 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad and even a slice of pie that they let you pick out of the fridge. We ordered two plates and they let us pick out 3 slices of pie! We got strawberry guava (light and refreshing), macadamia nut (very flavorful and rich), and chocolate dream cake (my favorite. rich, chocolatey, with a very light and fluffy cake texture) spicy garlic shrimp: 9.6/10. SO GOOD! better than those shrimp trucks. mahi mahi: 9.2/10. Surprisingly really yummy. Soft and flavorful. Has some sort of egg coating. bbq chicken: 7.5/10. Typical bbq chicken!

The food was hot and delicious here. The service was quick and friendly. I had the loco moko which was super good and my first time trying it. I swapped the Mac salad for greens. Boyfriend got the chicken katsu regular lunch plate. His was very crunchy and juicy. Both things were done very well here.

We passed Ted's Bakery on the North Shore and did a U-turn. Had to go. A cute little place with a tent outside the entrance, busy with people. This little bakery is known for its pies, We picked our slices to go, the chocolate haupia for me and the guava for my daughter, and took them back to her house. OMG divine! Light and not overly sweet. I saw the pies at Foodland Farms ala Moana, so you don'y have to drive to the North Shore. But if you're up that way, do stop. 15

Ted's Bakery Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ted's Bakery

Are the garlic shrimps shell peeled off?

The last time I've had it, 2 years ago, it was not but, so much better than the shrimp trucks.

    Are any desserts vegan?

No, sorry. Not that I know of

What time do they start serving lunch?

Do popular menu items run out later in the day (around dinner time/5pm)? I want to try the garlic shrimp but don't want to miss out!

H! We've been living here for the past 6 months and they always have popular menu items later in the day/evening. The only options that I see run out are the baked goods (donuts/danishes)

Do you ship to the mainland? And how many days in advance would I need to place an order?

They do not ship to the mainland. They have even stopped shipping pies to stores so you can only get them at the bakery on the North Shore now.

Does Ted's have a public restroom?

    Yes

If you order online can you walk right in to pick up or do you need to wait in the outside line to get in?

You can walk right in. The line outside is for those who need to place an order.

Is there outdoor seating available at this time?

Yes! There are plenty of tables across the parking lot for you to enjoy your food. There are also bathrooms open.

Curious if they're open again, even just for take out?

According to their website they reopened on February 5th. :)

Does Ted's ship pies for residential orders to the mainland (California)? Or are there any stores that sell the pies in California?

I don't believe they do. I would be the first one to order one if they did. Best haupia chocolate pie ever!

Still closed for covid or open for takeout?

Yes as of this past Saturday!

If I came at 10:30, could I order breakfast and lunch? My son would choose breakfast for all three meals of the day, but I want to try the spicy garlic sheimp!

Yes and the garlic shrimp is best on island

Are any of the items on the menu gluten free?

Plenty of gluten-free menu items. Nine salad options. Plenty of meat dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bakery is old school. No gluten-free pastry options when I visited.

    Is breakfast available all day?

5/26/19 : Breakfast is NOT served all day and you CANNOT buy plate lunches until 10:30. I found out the hard way...

    Open on Christmas Day?

    No, they are not.

The service has been very friendly 2 of the 3 times I've been. Sure, the sandwiches take a little while to make, but I appreciate that they take their time with it and my sandwich is well stacked rather than slapped together. The first time I was there I was encouraged to try the pig and pickle when I was unsure between that and the pastrami. While I'm sure to try the pastrami sometime soon, so far I have chosen to satisfy my craving for the juicy and absolutely delicious pig & pickle. And I like their fresh and semi-dense sourdough; anything lighter would be a soggy mess with all that meaty juicy goodness piled on it! Give me fabulous food by friendly people and a picnic table on grass to enjoy it at - done deal - return customer again and again now that I've learned of this spot. Oh! Their lemonade, strawberry and lilikoi lemonades? Worth it. On a rainy day, the lemonade brought a bit of sunshine into my life and a smile to my face. And on sunny days it is refreshing. Thanks for that! The only problem is I went with friends the first 2 times and I didn't speak much during our lunch together as I was entranced with my sandwich. Oops!

I also thought the prices for sandwiches, which each come with a pickle slice and a bag of chips, were really fair. However, my wait ordering in person took quite a while, about 25 minutes for 3 sandwiches, which surprised me. For my sandwich specifically, the Smokey Pastrami on Sourdough bread, I found the meat a bit chewier than I expected, and was bummed that my bread wasn't toasted. I think toasting the bread could have changed the game for me, but it was still a good sandwich overall. For the other 2 sandwiches, my friends got a Pork n' Pickles and a BLAT. We all really enjoyed this place's pickles. My friends had no complaints with their sandwiches. We also all got a lemonade, 2 regulars and 1 strawberry, which were great! I wanted it to be a bit more tart, as they were on the milder/watered down side, but still hit the spot on a hot day, and the strawberry flavored one was def our favorite. Again, at $5 a lemonade, it felt like a good price for being in a food truck area with many tourists.

After after browsing the menu, I saw that they did have the garlic shrimp plate and decided on the combo of the garlic shrimp and garlic ahi. I also ordered a drink and and the largest size they had is a medium size at other fast food places however the very sweet counter girl did let me know that refills are free. Sister number one ordered the sandwich Sister number two ordered the regular garlic shrimp plate and my brother-in-law ordered the Seth burger. While we were able to find a table in the patio area, although they also have seating indoors available. As told by the counter girl, our meal would be delivered in about 15 minutes and it came in just under that time We all like our own dishes. The only complaint is that the regular garlic shrimp plate only head six shrimp and they were on the smaller size compared to the other garlic shrimp trucks in the area. To our surprise there was a young girl that's approached her table asking how arm you was and if we needed anything like more sauce, and we did ask her for a knife. And we thought that was a nice touch for counter, ordering and outdoor dining. I do recommend this place for burgers and the however for garlic shrimp plate I do recommend trying one of the other shrimp trucks

The corn was excellent and the ribeye was cooked really well. But the experience had some friction. The host stand felt unnecessarily rigid and disorganized. They would not seat us until the full party was physically standing there, even though the table was ready and the rest of our group was coming from parking. It left everyone awkwardly crowded up front with another party. Service was also slow. Drinks, napkins and basic follow up took too long. We ordered ribeyes and the knives didn't arrive until the steaks had already started cooling, which is a small thing that becomes a big thing when the kitchen actually did its part. The space is nice, but it gets hot and once it got darker the mosquitoes became a real problem. Bring repellent if you are going around sunset. Food wise, it was mixed but mostly good. The drinks were solid, the appetizers were strong and the ribeye was the best thing we ordered. The lobster salad was the weak point, more like boxed mixed greens with overcooked lobster than something worth ordering again. The kids' pizza felt frozen and heavy, but the kids were happy enough. I'd probably come back, but I'd come prepared. Mosquito repellent, patience with the front desk and realistic expectations on service.
