Great choice of place for breakfast or lots of donuts and pie to choose from. I really like the custard filled donuts, the cinnamon roll was too dry. Cashier was quick, unfortunately the coffee machine wasn't working thus morning so o didn't get my latte. Lots f of tables outside front patio for seating

We went on a recommendation for the Pies and needed to pick up for a Graduation/ Birthday celebration. We went after lunch and it was super busy with everyone grabbing lunch. I had picked up a Dobash cake and a Chocolate Haupia cream pie. We had the gals do a decoration message and customize the writings before we purchased the pies. We also tried the White Macadamia and a slice of Coconut cream pies. Definitely a go to place for Hawaiian style lunch and desserts for their or takeout.

Well, I guess everyone has a "bad day" so I'll just say that we landed on one at Ted's this time. I hate giving negative reviews but my personal rule is always to be honest. This time, neither of us enjoyed our meal at all. Hubby got the Loco Moco that included 2 tough & dry hamburger patties, rice and egg. His gravy tasted more like it came from a can rather than made from scratch on site. I ordered the Teriyaki Hamburger "Steak" plate with local greens (that was good) and 2 very small scoops of brown rice that wasn't enough to balance out the amount of teriyaki sauce. The hamburger patty (same as Hubby's) was tough & dry as well. The teriyaki sauce was overly sweet in my opinion. I really hope this was as I said "a bad day for them". There's a lot of competition on the North Shore.

This place was hopping and I think they misplaced our order for a bit. Our service was significantly slower than those we entered with, but staff noticed, checked on us, and corrected it without me needing to bring it up. Food was very good: best Loco Moco I had (of 3) while on the island. Portions generous. Both the blueberry cream pie and the chocolate cream pie were fantastic. The family was split on which was best. Just a storefront with shaded seating out front. They have parking!

I always enjoy stopping by Ted's for a slice of pie when travelling back from a North Shore day. The chocolate haupia pie is one of my favorites along with the lilikoi cheese pie. Today, I had the chocolate haupia and it was tasty. The whipped cream on top is decorative and not too heavy, and the haupia is nice, although I do wish it were more coconutty. The service is never particularly pleasant. The workers seem unhappy to be checking people out, at least every time that I go. However, they are quick. I will give them that. Ample seating outside, although there's usually a lot of leftover trash from other people who have eaten there earlier. A good stop if you are craving pie by the slice at a reasonable price.

Went tonight on a Saturday right before they closed. Very little wait, tons of parking and still stuff to choose from! Pricing is very fair- under 40$ for a ton out of the case to try. Everything was really delicious!

Spent a week in North Shore and went to Ted's three times. I had mixed experiences. The Loco Moco was excellent, probably the best I've had. Chicken Katsu was just meh- it was on the dry side. Had the BBQ chicken plate on my second visit and it was very good So the next day, I ordered two barbecue chicken plates, only to find the chicken so charred that half the meat was inedible. (these were takeout plates so we didn't discover this until we left ). The chicken never should've made iinto the plates So check your food before you leave!

Stopped in to Ted's after hearing all about their amazing pies and turns out we were in the mood for Pancakes! The ordering system is quick, step inside and they will take your order and give you a buzzer. Then you can step out to one of the many picnic tables while you wait for your order to be ready. After that you just head back inside for pickup. When our Pancakes arrived they were impressively huge. Definitely enough to share and legitimately some of the best Pancakes I have ever had. The coconut syrup also goes great with the pancakes. Since we got the combo we also got two eggs and sausages. Overall Ted's is a great stop and I would definitely return. Highly Reccommended!

We stopped by this famous bakery on the North Shore, where they offered so many pie flavors that it was hard to choose. In the end, we shared a slice of the chocolate macadamia nut cream pie, which was rich and full of flavor. Next time, I'd love to try the Strawberry Guava Cream Pie.

Idk wasn't my favorite. Staff wasn't really friendly. Loco moco wasn't that great, the gravy was really tasty. Pies were okay.

They have a ton of options for pastries and pies. The coffee was quite tasty too. They have a cute wall of Local Hawaii jams, honey, shirts and magnets to bring back gifts. They had a line before they opened but they have great service. They are famous for pies and I was not over the moon for it, but the guava danish was next level delicious.

Yes you are missing out the Coconut Haupia Cake. It is so delicious and you have to try it. It's not too sweet and the coconut flavor is delicious ! We got lucky to get some around lunch time. Be sure to show up earlier before they sell out. Parking is plenty usually and there is a patio outside with benches / tables.

Ted's Bakery was a quick stop along the North Shore drive and 100% worth it. We grabbed pies to go and got the lilikoi cheese pie and the chocolate haupia cream pie. Both were delicious and not too sweet, which I really appreciated. The crust was dense and held everything together well, and the cream fillings were light, fluffy, and refreshing without feeling heavy. Perfect treat to bring along for the drive. I'd definitely come back to try the strawberry guava next time.

Ask the Community - Ted's Bakery

Are the garlic shrimps shell peeled off?

The last time I've had it, 2 years ago, it was not but, so much better than the shrimp trucks.

    Are any desserts vegan?

No, sorry. Not that I know of

What time do they start serving lunch?

Do popular menu items run out later in the day (around dinner time/5pm)? I want to try the garlic shrimp but don't want to miss out!

H! We've been living here for the past 6 months and they always have popular menu items later in the day/evening. The only options that I see run out are the baked goods (donuts/danishes)

Do you ship to the mainland? And how many days in advance would I need to place an order?

They do not ship to the mainland. They have even stopped shipping pies to stores so you can only get them at the bakery on the North Shore now.

Does Ted's have a public restroom?

    Yes

If you order online can you walk right in to pick up or do you need to wait in the outside line to get in?

You can walk right in. The line outside is for those who need to place an order.

Is there outdoor seating available at this time?

Yes! There are plenty of tables across the parking lot for you to enjoy your food. There are also bathrooms open.

Curious if they're open again, even just for take out?

According to their website they reopened on February 5th. :)

Does Ted's ship pies for residential orders to the mainland (California)? Or are there any stores that sell the pies in California?

I don't believe they do. I would be the first one to order one if they did. Best haupia chocolate pie ever!

Still closed for covid or open for takeout?

Yes as of this past Saturday!

If I came at 10:30, could I order breakfast and lunch? My son would choose breakfast for all three meals of the day, but I want to try the spicy garlic sheimp!

Yes and the garlic shrimp is best on island

Are any of the items on the menu gluten free?

Plenty of gluten-free menu items. Nine salad options. Plenty of meat dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bakery is old school. No gluten-free pastry options when I visited.

    Is breakfast available all day?

5/26/19 : Breakfast is NOT served all day and you CANNOT buy plate lunches until 10:30. I found out the hard way...

    Open on Christmas Day?

    No, they are not.
