    Brazilian Lemonade

My husband and I were really happy we got a chance to check out Pupukea Grill. We first tried to go on Tuesday, but the food truck wasn't there and they weren't open. I tried calling, but no answer. Luckily, we were nearby and found another good local spot, but we had our mind set on this place. We were leaving on Thursday, so I called ahead to make sure they were open before heading back. Good thing--they were open, and we were able to try some amazing food. It wasn't too busy, but they were already sold out of a few things by noon. We ordered the BBQ chicken quesadillas and a Brazilian lemonade. While waiting for our food, we sat in the covered seating area. It rained off and on, but it eventually stopped, and we stayed dry. Our food took about 15 minutes to be ready, and when it came out, it was super fresh and hot. We enjoyed every bite. It came with black beans and rice, and the Brazilian lemonade was light and super refreshing. Everything was delicious. We would definitely come back again! If you're around, you should check them out.

Came recommended before our trip. Great service. Bowls were fresh and outstanding. Great place to stop. Will come again!!!

Somehow I've never tried this place but I've only ever heard great things, and it definitely lived up to expectations! The location is convenient being right across from sharks cove, so it's great after a dive/snorkel, and the service is quick. Plenty of vegan/vegetarian items too. It is on the pricier side but again, what isn't these days and the quality is high. The poke was fresh and portioned well, and I like that they offer a salad and quinoa option instead of rice for a healthier choice. The cookies are small but really good.

Make sure to check their instagram to see if they are open/closed! Quality food. Fresh ingredients. Definitely you get what you pay for. Our go-to are poke bowl, hand rolls, quesadilla plate and açaí bowls. Girls working the truck and friendly, punctual and prompt. Parking is not the greatest but there at tables under a tent to eat.

The vegan and regular banana bread are amazing!! You could order online I had so you don't have to wait for the long lines. Love everything here.

I will give this one a four overall. The food was definitely above average, the prices were fair, seating was also adequate and plentiful, the view was amazing! Have not read any other reviews, but my tip to you is that the plates are definitely shareable. We bought too much food... For example, my swordfish tacos had three swordfish steaks and three tortillas plus all of the other fixings to go with it. Once you're finished with your snack, cross the street for a killer view.

After hours of snorkeling at Shark's Cove, my family and I walked across the street to Pupukea Grill for lunch. This is a stationary food truck. They provide shaded outdoor seating - 6 tables and 1 bench. We were famished, so we placed our orders and patiently waited for our food. I had the following: Spicy Tuna Poke bowl - good flavor, but a small portion. I expected more for the price ($16). Also, I didn't enjoy the rice. It was a little undercooked or old (hard texture). Chicken quesadilla - my son ordered this and I took a bite. I don't recommend this; it was bland. The beans and rice lacked seasoning also. Overall: 3.5-stars My family enjoyed their Kalua pork quesadillas and raved about it, so I increased my rating and rounded up.

AMAZING!!! Best food we have had in Hawaii. Authentic and flavorful. 10/10!! Will be returning!

One of the best food trucks in North Shore! Always a great place to stop by to get food after being at the beach all day. Ordering is fast and food usually only takes 10-15 minutes, even when busy. My bf loves the Kalua pig quesadilla and I'm always in the mood for their OG açaí bowl. The pork is marinated to perfection and combines well with the generous serving of cheese in the quesadilla. I'm amazed I could even get it a picture before it was devoured. The açaí is a great blend and the banana slices, blueberries and strawberries are always so fresh. Topped with honey and coconut shavings makes it prime. Nothing but great options on the menu.

OH MY MY!! 10/10! I can't believe I just found out about this place recently! We have a friend who lives in Waipahu, and we were looking for a place to eat at nearby and we found this place. It's located in a plaza, so parking was not hard to find. They only do take out, no dine-in (so far). I think there's a minimum amount to use a card. Cashier was super friendly! Food took about 15 minutes. No problem at all, as you cannot rush perfection, right? We ordered: * Ahi Katsu -- my favourite!! I got it on a Thursday and got it again the following Thursday. Most of the ahi katsu I've tried it has wasabi mayo sauce and furikake seasoning. But this one was very unique, it was a little sweet and savoury. It came with 2 scoops of rice with furikake seasoning and the best mac salad ever! It was very filling. Delicious! As my brother-in-law would say "chef's kiss!" MUST ORDER * Boneless Korean Garlic Chicken -- this is what my husband ordered and he absolutely loved it! It also came with 2 scoops of rice and the best mac salad ever! * Boneless Fried Chicken -- what our friend ordered. Very crispy! Again, it came with 2 scoops of rice and the best mac salad ever! There's something about the mac salad, words cannot describe it. So you have to go try it for yourself! You won't regret it!

Fresh delicious and convenient! A local recommended this spot and it was exactly what I needed/wanted. I loved the autographed surf photos that is ohana vibes.. I genuinely just wanted to relax and enjoy some shade after snorkeling for 3 hours. Also the liquid death peach was hitttttting! I even order another one. The banana bread mochi was something I'd never had but was excited to try. I'd highly recommend! Just wish I had more people to share it with since it was decently sized. I could tell the workers/owners take care of this place.

Great choices right on the north beaches of Oahu. At the beach in 5 minutes for a picnic. Eclectic menu including vegan and meat choices.

This is a popular spot where you should expect a long wait but totally worth it. The BBQ Kalua Quesadilla and acai bowl were both great!

We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and the Shrimp Scampi plates, and neither was impressive. The food came out almost instantly, which proves it is not cooked to order. Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. Save your time and money. There are much better, friendlier options out there.

This year, we were determined to make it early enough to finally try the Bald Guy, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The food was honestly divine. We tried the pan-fried poke, kalbi beef, furikake crusted salmon, chopped steak, and spam musubi, and every single thing was incredible. It was so good that we ended up eating here twice during our trip. Also, special shoutout to the mac and cheese because WOW... it is ridiculously good. My personal favorites were the poke, chopped steak, and kalbi beef, but truly everything we ordered was amazing. The staff was also super kind and helpful with all our questions. Just a heads up, they do sell out of certain items before closing, so definitely try to get there earlier rather than later. Cannot wait to come back!

The shrimp were big and cooked perfectly. Seasoned to perfection. Just the right amount of garlic and the extra sauce made for the best rice. I was happy with the quantity of shrimp too. Definitely a worth it meal in my book. I also got a teriyaki spam musubi to try. Also good. I like how they wrapped it. Just a slight variation from the ones I typically eat. Will definitely be back. I still want to try the salmon. We got in line just at the right time bc when we turned to sit down after ordering there was a long line that had formed behind us. Our food got done quickly and we sat down at the picnic tables to enjoy it. It was busy so we shared a picnic table with another family. We got there really early before the opened and we were second in line. We shared a plate of their scampi with a side of their hot sauce. I learned this from the last time because as you peel the shrimp, dipping it into their hot sauce is the move. Going the other way around was way messier. People say their rice is mushy, but that wasn't the case today. Honestly, if I could, I'd skip the rice and go all mac salad. The mac salad was pretty tasty and perfect to break up all the garlic. While I've been here multiple times, I do find it to be good. Would I wait in a long line for it though, probably not. It's a spot I'd classify as a tourist trap, but at least the food backs it up. I think in comparison to what I get in California, it's a few steps above what we get on the mainland. I think if you are planning on getting here, do it early to avoid the rushes.

Once spots started opening up, we paid the $2 parking fee and joined the lines. Heads up, the long line on the right is usually for pickup, while the shorter line on the left is for ordering. We went with the famous Shrimp Scampi along with a side of mac salad. Shrimp Scampi (4/5): Easily lived up to the hype. The shrimp were juicy and easy to peel, and each bite was loaded with buttery lemon flavor and tons of crispy garlic. The rice soaked up the sauce really well, though there was honestly so much butter and oil leftover afterward that it pooled at the bottom of the plate. Still incredibly flavorful overall. Mac Salad (4/5): Creamy without feeling too heavy and generously portioned. A solid side that balanced out the richness of the shrimp. Bathrooms are located upstairs near the gift shop, and there's also a washing sink near the exit, which definitely comes in handy after peeling shrimp. Overall, a fun and iconic North Shore stop that absolutely feels worth trying at least once. Glad we checked it out to see if it lived up to the hype.
