He was very thorough and asked exactly what my hair history was to properly treat my hair. This is my second time going to Ryan and needless to say, he didn't disappoint. I originally came for a root touch up from my last balayage I did a couple months ago, but decided to do a slight hair lightening as well as I slowly transition to a full blonde. I didn't even have to show Ryan a reference picture, because he knew exactly what I wanted just by my description. My hair came out better than I could ever imagine! I have been going to Ryan for over 5 years now and I'm always happy with my results. I do not enjoy getting my hair done in general...and the most I've had to sit in the chair with other hairdressers has been 5-6 hours and I end up being disappointed considering I paid 2-3x more. With Ryan, I love the flexibility of getting an appointment. Most of the time, he's able to see me the same week. His price is affordable, and I'm out in 2-3 hours. Ryan truly takes care of me and makes me feel the best I could be! His skill and professionalism shine brilliantly amongst the many hairstylists of OC. I met Ryan two years ago and never looked back. He is down to earth, reliable, and straight to the point. He is always so accommodating and makes me feel relaxed whenever I visit him. I get a trim, root touch up, and overall color approx. every two months and do overall highlights twice a year. My finish is a brilliant garnet red on waist length hair. Ryan is located inside SoHo salon. It's pretty shabby area but everyone there seems nice and pleasant. Reason for the 2 star: we called and got a quote for a hair dye service (whole head). He said it was 75 but come with free haircut or oil treatment. Upon arrival, my friend opted for base touch up (roots) which he charge her 65. Some of her hair was still had whites in them upon leaving. He said he can match the color, but nope. The color he used was more brown while her hair color was more burgundy. Ryan is a nice and friendly guy but not sure if his work is well worth the cost. read more

I found ryan through yelp and i decided to try it out from all the good reviews. I texted him and he opens up his schedule to really accommodate his customers. I went in for appointment and did an amazing job with my hair. The color turned out amazing without doing much damage to my hair. He took the time to make sure i was also comfortable during my appointment. Even outside of the salon he will still respond to your questions about hair care and he is always very helpful. Absolutely best experience ever! Ryan was able to replicate the exact shade of silver/ashy blonde I wanted based on my reference photos. And he had fully addressed my concerns for after-maintenance as my previous going-blonde experience had completely faded into a brassiness in 3 weeks. He even mentioned about the free oil treatment and he was huge about taking the good care of my hair, constantly spraying on treatments too. Highly highly recommend! read more

I have texted Ryan (714) 230-9689 the day before to make an appointment and he was able to take me in the next day. He asked me what I wanted done and I sent him a picture of sometime similar. The previous person whom did my hair left me with orange streaks. Not only was there orange streaks, but it was just full on blond nothing like an ombré or balayage. I had to wait a month in half to come fix it so I don't damage my hair. Thank you Ryan for taking me in the next day, He helped fix my hair color and got rid of the orange streaks that was on my hair and gave life to my hair and better color. He also gave me a cut/trim because of how damage my hair was. Highly Highly recommend Ryan for hair color, style, and cut. My 2nd time with Ryan. He did such an awesome job with my first color/cut, it was a easy decision to come back. Hair is currently being treated so will provide pictures and update once completed. *update Came out looking fresh. :) besides my allergies really kicking in during the appointment, it was another smooth experience. I called Ryan hair on a Monday afternoon after reading all the great reviews. I was a bit nervous as I had very damaged bleached hair. And I needed to get my hair done before leaving town for a bachelorette party. He let me come in on the same day. Luckily there was one appt spot left for the day. He did a great job at assessing just what I needed. He listens to what you need and checks in with you as he works. Thinned and trimmed my hair and got rich red color. He works fast. I am so happy with the color. I feel like I got makeover my hair needed. I am definitely coming here again. Professional service at a fraction of the price compared to other salons in the area. I just moved to the area and really needed a new place to get my hair done. Well Ryan Hair is going to be my new go to place for my hair needs. Ryan is sooooo talented. I told him I didn't want anything that would damage my hair since I've had really bad experiences resulting in my hair getting fried and having to get chopped off. Ryan nailed the look that I wanted perfect!!! He kept my length and the cut he gave me makes my hair so full and bouncy and most importantly it feels so healthy. It was just the change that I needed. Walking out of Sogo Hair after my appointment with Ryan has been the first time I've ever felt completely satisfied with my service at a salon. I went to Ryan for the first time about 2 weeks ago for a balayage and baby lights with a shadow root, and a haircut. I'm super picky when it comes to my hair and I had an unfortunate experience with the previous hairstylist I tried out. Ryan took out all the brassy color out of my hair and blended my hair beautifully, removing the weird chunky streaks the previous stylist did. He was super quick too! My friend and I called to ask if we can be seen on the same day and he was able to accommodate both of us. Prices are reasonable for cut and single color dye. He used the Nioxin for thinning hair during the wash and also recommended a different brand Bosley if Nioxin isn't effective for your hair. Overall, it has been a great experience and we will be back whenever we are in town. read more

Really enjoyed my experience with Ryan. I came in with rather dry hair and it needed some love. Ryan took his time to get the color I wanted and nurtured my hair back. He textured it a bit before starting the process and my hair feels light and airy. It is cash only and by appointment. I was there at 10am and left shortly after noon. I came in today for a beach wave perm with Ryan. My hair prior to the appointment was lifeless and flat. After I saw Ryan, my hair was totally transformed and was how I imagined it would look. Ryan also suggested I add some layers to my hair to give me some more lift and balance the curls. I am so happy not to have boring hair anymore. The treatment was applied to my unwashed, 5-day buildup hair. According to the manufacturer's instructions, hair must be washed and clarified beforehand. I wasn't informed of this ahead of time or asked to wash at home, which left me disappointed. When I raised my concerns, they were somewhat dismissed, creating a bit of friction. For future clients: please wash and fully dry your hair at home before the appointment. 2. I wasn't provided with information about the differences between the available treatments when booking. Having that knowledge upfront would have helped me make the best choice for my hair. That said, after two washes, I'm happy with the results.
