I have been seeing her off and on for maintenance and to rehab a stress fracture in my foot for the past six months. She has kept me running strong and has helped me improve my strength routine in that time. Kerry is amazing at dry needling. She focuses on your symptoms and descriptions and then often will treat another area entirely that will result in relief. I could tell Kerry knew what she was doing when during our first appointment, she could tell my right side was weaker than my left and was out of alignment with a single look. I will continue to rely on her expertise for as long as she continues working.

My original review was for an ergonomic assessment that Kerry performed at my workstation. I had been having chronic pain down both my arms for years, which no PT or OT had ever been able to correctly diagnose or treat. Kerry told me during our first session that my pain should clear up in about two months after our sessions + an at-home strengthening and stretching regimen she provided and added to weekly. I honestly didn't believe that something that had caused me so much pain for so long could be treated so quickly. And sure enough, after about two months of weekly sessions, that shooting pain I had was getting better and eventually went away. Two other things were key: being diligent about performing the at-home exercises that Kerry provided and my continued attention to my posture and habits at my workstation - both of which Kerry reinforced the importance of during our sessions. I really can't say enough good things about Kerry. Besides the fact that she treated my pain, for which I'll be forever grateful, she's a very good listener, treats her patients with respect and is incredibly knowledgeable in her field. Her practice doesn't accept insurance, but the money I spent on my PT sessions was money very well spent given the outcome. Kerry's expertise is worth every penny and more. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Pro: smoke area, activities for the residents, clean environment, staff vending machine…read more Con: understaff workers, terrible management, disorganized medication process. This review of the facility is based on my experience as a staff nurse in 2019. My review will detail how I saw the resident of the facility being treated and the obstacles the staff had to deal with. Also, please note that since this review is based on my 2019 experience so there may be changes that have improve the facility since then or worsen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This facility operate as a nursing home/rehab place. Upon entering the building there is a fireplace on the left, the cafeteria on the right, and in the middle is big bird cage filled with birds for the resident entertainment. There is four units with three unit in the top floor and one unit on the basement floor. I work on the basement unit and the name was Terrance. On the unit we have 17 bedroom that is shared so a max of 34 residents. For staff, this place is a 5 day a week for 8 hour work place. Work hours are 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. To clock in you need a ID# type in and to scan your fingerprint which sometime doesn't accept the first time which can be an annoyance. The staffing ratio was horrible, on the ground floor unit it was 1 nurse to 17 residents and 1 CNA to assist you. The ratio was so bad how do find the time to do assessment, cleaning, feeding, passing meds, charting? Another thing that annoyed me as a staff worker was when trying to pull narcotic for the patient from the Pyxis you needed a second nurse but it was always hard to find someone because it was always busy and understaffed. I also witness a manager who would try to provoke a dementia patient by pretending to swing his fist at him. Lastly, another bad thing about working here as a nurse is that the facility doesn't use an insulin scale to determine how much insulin to give a resident who has a high blood sugar. You have to call the doctor every time and they will tell you how much insulin to give. I had a resident who blood sugar everyday was over 300 so I literally had to call the doctor every night to determine how much Insulin to give. Resident have a call light they can press to call the nurse and at the nursing station it ring very annoying like a very loud buzzing. For the resident they have events like music time and activities they can do. They get daily lab draw and if they need like an X-ray an outside company come to the facilities and does them. The building has a back yard type area where people can smoke. I have seen confuse resident be neglected and left outside in the hallway. They have an area in the basement where therapist come and do rehab with the patients. Resident are free to leave and come back. I worked at this place as a new graduate nurse and I would not recommend any RN come here to work at this place due to bad management & the nurse to patient ratio. This place was so bad that at some point during my time working here after finishing my med pass & charting, I would look for a new job and I was able to find a job at a hospital where it is 10x better for a new graduate nurse. Some of the coworker that I work with were so happy for me when I put in my 2 week resignation. All in all if you love your family member that I highly recommend you don't send them here.

Big fire there today!…read more KENSINGTON, Md. (DC News Now) -- A firefighter was taken to the hospital, and over a dozen people were evaluated after a fire broke out at the Kensington Healthcare Center on Wednesday night. Details are limited; however, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) was dispatched to the center on McComas Avenue for an automatic fire alarm. Once on the scene, firefighters located the blaze in a patient's room, where a mattress had caught fire. Officials said that 13 people were evaluated at the scene, and one firefighter was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Peter Piringer with the MCFRS noted that rooms were affected by the fire, and some had water damage. As a result, several patients were relocated to different rooms in the building. Nearly 60 firefighters responded to the scene as temperatures remained in the teens Wednesday night. The cause remains under investigation.

I had no knowledge of this place but I thought since it was in Kensington it would probably be ok. Well it wasn't. From the moment I was brought in on a stretcher from the hospital I immediately smelled cigarette smoke. I saw many ceiling tiles were missing with wires hanging down. I saw residents who looked like they weren't being taken care of properly. Then I was brought into my frozen room and put on the bed. I waited more than 30 minutes before a member of the staff came to see me. Finally my spouse came and all of a sudden a nurse appeared. I asked her some questions about my care and her answers were inadequate. They definitely weren't going to be able to give me the care I deserved. Then they started telling little lies to my spouse. I was barely there for about 2 hours before I realized this was not the place for me. I called 911 to come take me back to the hospital. When the paramedics arrived they asked to see my medical records and the staff told them no. They told the staff that the medical records were mine and they still said no. So I asked them for my medical records to give to the paramedics and they still said no. Can you believe it? They wouldn't let me have my own medical records??? I am sure they are going to try to bill my health insurance for lots of things even though I was only there for a little over 2 hours. Avoid this place like the plague. I can't believe such a place like this exists in Montgomery county MD. They should be shut down!

Normally I don't leave reviews but this could not go without being said. I've been seeing Dr. Jason…read morefor a year and he's wonderful. Very nice and very informative. However, my issue is with the reception staff. For the last several days I have been trying to get a prescription refilled and the communication has been terrible on the end of reception. Constant misunderstandings back and forth (that I won't get into) but upon trying to get information about the status of a prescription I was only given details if I pushed the receptionist for answers. I was clear with the doctor about which pharmacy i'd like my prescription sent to and then was told the next day there was no pharmacy for me on file. Very confusing seeing as I've been a patient for over a year. I was told yesterday the prescription would be sent before 6 , I call the pharmacy today and still nothing (this is going on the FOURTH day of being told my prescription would make it to the pharmacy). Just spoke with the receptionist again who abruptly rushed me off the phone to hang up and now things are hanging in the air and i'm losing hope the pharmacy will ever get it. I understand people get busy but there's a way to go about communicating and following through with the details of things as significant as having your medication needs met. Hopefully, they figure it out. Lucky for me this is a medication I can go without taking but to think if it was more of an emergency is honestly scary. Hopefully no one else has this experience with Blue Sky as Dr. Jason is wonderful at his job.
