I always saw this place in downtown, this coffee shop has changed many times but I finally went and here's my personal opinion: Service - 5/10 it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. There were 3 young men, 1 greeted us, the others were just chilling on their phones. It is what it is, they weren't super busy, but when the food dropped off there was no "Enjoy" or even a "Here you go".. just came and sat the food to the table. Then they all kind of stared? No one said "How's the food?" Or "can I get you anything?" They didn't even smile.. I just got a feeling they wanted us to hurry up and leave.. Again, this is my first time, but to sum it all up the service was a bit awkward. Please and thank you go a long way ^_^ Ambiance - 7/10 Nice, clean.. but when we walked in they were playing some good music. But then they turned it off or all the way down so we sat in silence.. again, awkward. Food - 8/10 really nothing to complain about, it was a bacon egg and cheese croissant.. however for the price, I could just easily make it at home. But the cold brew.. it was a 10/10, loved it. Overall.. I felt like we were imposing on them, but I would come back and get to go, just wouldn't eat inside because we felt a bit uncomfortable. I stopped in after seeing a post on Instagram this morning. Very warm and welcoming establishment as you walk in. Promptly greeted by staff and they patiently waited for me as I browsed the simple menu. I opted for a iced Carmel macchiato and a bacon egg and cheese croissant. Decided to give this place another shot being the only coffee place in downtown that's close to where I am at. Walked in and no one was there. They were all outside smoking and on the phone. Door is wide open. Everyone is on but everyone is outside. It looked like a whole bunch of young kids just hanging out front instead of actually working like they are supposed to. I hope that the owner is aware that this person on the phone outside has been for 30+minutes without anyone attending the store inside. The coffee here is good! (It's hard to find a cup of coffee that is actually good and not just okay.) The breakfast bagel was also good! It was fresh. Piping hot. I had the bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. There only appeared to be one person working at the time. She was doing both cashier and preparing the food and drinks. So there was a slight wait. But she was very kind and thorough about customer satisfaction/making sure the drink was right. But I think it's worth the wait. Hopefully Ryan's Cafe does well in this area! It's close to the court house. It's very much a small business/local place. I could see myself coming here if I'm in the area for jury duty or for work. read more

Been on the hunt for a good coffee shop in Fairfield. We happened to be in downtown and decided to stop at Ryan's to give it a shot. Small coffee shop with a lot of potential. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Coffee is okay not very strong, lacks flavor. Looks like this shop is just starting off and I would say they are still trying to figure things out. 80 cent charge for low fat milk, WOW! I've found it reasonable to pay for soy, almond and oat milk but not for low fat since it is probably about the same as whole milk. I'm not sure if I will be back. read more

I love that this is a Black owned Coffee shop and the fact that it is in downtown Fairfield near City Hall and the Court house is great! Love that Ryan's Cafe offers A full selection of Pressed Juices. Rosslyn and Veronica were in this morning at my sister's chai with soy milk was made quickly; served up nice and hot and delicious. I wanted to check out if this place improved. My opinion hasn't change. I give up. - They installed 3 - 4 fan, but blast the heat to 90F. There's no logic. The fans are louder and dry your eyes. - London fog had no steamed milk. A core part was missing in the drink. - Overpriced for quality. At least if your drinks are small, please make it creamy, spicy or have a hard hit. It's way too water downed. - Ideas : Get board games, add soft music (can't hear conversations), accurate drinks, crank your heater down, plants to give the space life, accurate opening times (9 - 11 AM). I went to Ryan's cafe to try out a cofee since I was in the area. I usually go to Starbucks daily and I am very picky about how my drink is made. When I tell you that Ryan's cafe frappe was better than any I had ever had that is the honest gods truth .On top of that the baristas were very friendly and very helpful with creating my custom order.
