I always saw this place in downtown, this coffee shop has changed many times but I finally went and here's my personal opinion: Service - 5/10 it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. There were 3 young men, 1 greeted us, the others were just chilling on their phones. It is what it is, they weren't super busy, but when the food dropped off there was no "Enjoy" or even a "Here you go".. just came and sat the food to the table. Then they all kind of stared? No one said "How's the food?" Or "can I get you anything?" They didn't even smile.. I just got a feeling they wanted us to hurry up and leave.. Again, this is my first time, but to sum it all up the service was a bit awkward. Please and thank you go a long way ^_^ Ambiance - 7/10 Nice, clean.. but when we walked in they were playing some good music. But then they turned it off or all the way down so we sat in silence.. again, awkward. Food - 8/10 really nothing to complain about, it was a bacon egg and cheese croissant.. however for the price, I could just easily make it at home. But the cold brew.. it was a 10/10, loved it. Overall.. I felt like we were imposing on them, but I would come back and get to go, just wouldn't eat inside because we felt a bit uncomfortable. I stopped in after seeing a post on Instagram this morning. Very warm and welcoming establishment as you walk in. Promptly greeted by staff and they patiently waited for me as I browsed the simple menu. I opted for a iced Carmel macchiato and a bacon egg and cheese croissant. My coffee came out first and was very delicious and the sandwich came out HOT and fresh. They use real eggs and actual seasonings. I was so thrilled. Decided to give this place another shot being the only coffee place in downtown that's close to where I am at. Walked in and no one was there. They were all outside smoking and on the phone. Door is wide open. Everyone is on but everyone is outside. It looked like a whole bunch of young kids just hanging out front instead of actually working like they are supposed to. I hope that the owner is aware that this person on the phone outside has been for 30+minutes without anyone attending the store inside. The coffee here is good! (It's hard to find a cup of coffee that is actually good and not just okay.) The breakfast bagel was also good! It was fresh. Piping hot. I had the bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. There only appeared to be one person working at the time. She was doing both cashier and preparing the food and drinks. So there was a slight wait. But she was very kind and thorough about customer satisfaction/making sure the drink was right. But I think it's worth the wait. Hopefully Ryan's Cafe does well in this area! It's close to the court house. It's very much a small business/local place. I could see myself coming here if I'm in the area for jury duty or for work. read more

Been on the hunt for a good coffee shop in Fairfield. We happened to be in downtown and decided to stop at Ryan's to give it a shot. Small coffee shop with a lot of potential. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Coffee is okay not very strong, lacks flavor. Looks like this shop is just starting off and I would say they are still trying to figure things out. 80 cent charge for low fat milk, WOW! I've found it reasonable to pay for soy, almond and oat milk but not for low fat since it is probably about the same as whole milk. I'm not sure if I will be back. read more

I was in the area and found this place on yelp. It's a small coffee shop downtown. The menu is on a really big board. I loved that they had me day old pastries for half off. We waited a little. Great atmosphere and I got my drink right away. I ordered an iced americano with extra ice. I like the vibes in this coffee shop you can definitely get locked in and study for finals. I love that this is a Black owned Coffee shop and the fact that it is in downtown Fairfield near City Hall and the Court house is great! Love that Ryan's Cafe offers A full selection of Pressed Juices. Rosslyn and Veronica were in this morning at my sister's chai with soy milk was made quickly; served up nice and hot and delicious. I wanted to check out if this place improved. My opinion hasn't change. I give up. - They installed 3 - 4 fan, but blast the heat to 90F. There's no logic. The fans are louder and dry your eyes. - London fog had no steamed milk. A core part was missing in the drink. - Overpriced for quality. At least if your drinks are small, please make it creamy, spicy or have a hard hit. It's way too water downed. - Ideas : Get board games, add soft music (can't hear conversations), accurate drinks, crank your heater down, plants to give the space life, accurate opening times (9 - 11 AM). I stopped in for some coffee & a breakfast sandwich on a Saturday morning. The service was beyond wonderful met with smiles and friendly workers. This was my first time at this location so I had a load of questions and they were all answered leaving me ready to try a few things off the menu. The workers are super sweet and friendly and actually take the time to get to know you and remember your drinks. Now let's talk about favorite things to grab. I went to Ryan's cafe to try out a cofee since I was in the area. I usually go to Starbucks daily and I am very picky about how my drink is made. When I tell you that Ryan's cafe frappe was better than any I had ever had that is the honest gods truth .On top of that the baristas were very friendly and very helpful with creating my custom order. The inside is also nice on the eyes and a relaxing environment. If I could give more than five stars I would they definitely deserve it. read more

My first sip of my Americano was amazing! I've been telling all my friends it was truly the "Best cup of coffee" I've had! Ryan, the owner told me the brand of unique coffee they use is roasted with oak that makes it less acidic. . Monday had a completely different dynamic. From the very beginning, the staff was huddled by the juice press complaining about the music playlist and debating how & who was going to address the problem of the music playlist (or lack thereof - not sure which). Eventually, one of them acknowledged us and took our order. We sat down to wait and that's when the cashier walked over to the staff that was standing by the juice press and they continued complaining about the "playlist" or creating a playlist or something *I dunno* All I know is that one person was standing at the juice press and waiting for something and the other employee just stood there talking to her about the music playlist and who is "going to tell him". It was a full 6 minutes of us just sitting there. Nobody was even attempting to start my coffee order. My husband finally got up and told them that we are on a timeline. That's when the employee standing next to the employee staring at the juice press walked over to the Expresso machine and started to make my drink. Then they made it incorrectly, giving me only 2 shots not the 3 that I paid for. Then she proceeded to dump some of the liquid from the cup out and simply added another shot. This is wrong on so many levels. The coffee is delicious, the cold pressed juices are fresh and perfectly balanced. The customer service is hit/miss. Oh, and the tip jar is back front and center. Ironic that is is the last thing I was willing to do after the crappy service. PS Not sure what all the fuss is about the music playlist, BUT it's a BIG F*ing Deal for Mondays staff. Please address it so that they can focus on making coffee. Thanks.

The shake was pretty bomb and it came out very fast. This restaurant has cool modern aesthetic to it and their playlist is also a vibe. Bre the owner, is very kind, welcoming, and offers great recommendations if you're unsure what to get. This place is also next to a huge parking lot so parking is not an issue. Another cool thing about this place is that it's right around the corner from In shape. It's the perfect place to go after finishing your workout. Highly recommend this spot. The two ladies at the register in the kitchen appeared to be quite disorganized and all over the place, as if they had never dealt with customers before. I placed my order, and she repeated it back to me twice. I ordered my sandwich before the next customer, yet somehow, the next customer received their sandwich before I did, which was quite confusing. The new lady at the register had to tell the other lady to make my sandwich which should repeated twice on different occasions. To make matters worse, their credit card machine was out of order and they requested cash instead. Fortunately, I had some cash on hand. The chicken banh mi seemed like it had been microwaved, which was disappointing, although the presentation looked decent and the taste was okay. I've had worse experiences, but my main issues were with the two ladies working in the back and at the register who were preparing the food. They just seemed really disorganized; otherwise, it should have been a typical donut shop.

There is now a Tesla Supercharger so navigate to that instead of the cafe so that your Tesla preconditions while you enjoy your morning. They no longer support their own app and have turned the keys over to Square to create an account to make it easier to pay and reorder. The ready times you get in the app are later than it's usually ready so I recommend giving them 10-20 minutes lead time. Here's my rating of the variety of foods and drinks I've tried. Undertow - 8 - Fun twist on a cortado as the half and half is cold and they add a splash of vanilla. The hot espresso is carefully floated on top of the milk so that when you drink you feel the cold "underflow" of vanilla milk. Cortado- 8 - Small but powerful sip of espresso. I prefer it with half and half and a touch of sugar over Journey's method but it is a tasty sip. Lavender Latte - -10 - the best version of a lavender latte you'll ever have. Cherry Blossom Latte - 9 - The cherry syrup is very forward but blends nicely into the latte which gives it light finish. The coffee does get a touch lost so add an extra shot. Citrus Cocoa Latte - 9 - The orange syrup is prevalent throughout the drink but the cocoa starts to stand up more the last half of the drink. I don't prefer chocolate drinks but this doesn't taste like a mocha at all. Very well done Journey!!! Veggie n Egg Breakfast Wrap - 7 - Light and flavorful but needs some pop from another ingredient. I recommend using the Tapatio hit sauce to elevate it above our 7 rating for those that want some pop of flavor and can handle spice. Breakfast Hand Pie - 6 - The pastry wasn't crispy but it did have some crispy seeds on it to save the texture, a bit gummy for my liking. The filling was also creamy with more cheese than needed (and I love cheese). Although good, I wouldn't get it again because the flavor of the filling fell flat. First Class Wrap - 10 - If you can handle spice, the chipotle sauce is amazing amidst the variety of ingredients. This is my go-to and everybody I introduce it to gets it as well. Every business partner I've introduced this right off the freeway coffee stop has loved and kept as their own. It's a no brainer if you're headed down I-80.
