The staff is great , receptionist and female vet tech are super nice, when I first start taking my cats there I seemed to get the same vet every time and she was great , my two cats have since passed, and I got a new one , his first visit I had the same experience , I just took him for his yearly checkup, I had a Saturday appt and it was chaotic, had male vet tech , who seemed ok but I could tell he was busy, very short and the vet was kind of rough with my cat, pressed her entire upper body on him just to check his heart , my cat is chill and was just sitting there showed no aggression for her to do that, it upset him to the point he hissed and showed his claws , I've had this cat for two years and that was a first for me. They took blood , could not get a urine sample, I get a call that Monday and was told by a different vet that my cat was borderline hyperthyroidism, and should be started on pills right away. I declined for now wanting to do more research, I suggested retaking the blood in a month , so I could know for sure, I asked for his blood results which they sent. A month later I make an appt during the week, much better option, I saw a new vet that was very good with my cat, he explained hyperthyroidism to me and my different options and then examined the cat said he felt a lump on his thyroid, so now I feel I should have started the meds, they took blood and got urine this time , I received a call on Monday with the results, he said his thyroid levels were perfect , the meds are working , I reminded him I didn't start the meds , he said oh, well there is nothing wrong with his thyroid, in fact his blood work looks good. I'm writing this to say be careful, be your pets advocate , it seems the vet care system is much like our own medical system , corporate owned selling a disease for profit. Sorry to have to say that I really recommend you DO NOT GO TO HUB VET PORT CHESTER. After a routine neuter my beautiful and totally healthy kitten was returned to me with intense tooth pain. The vet tried to insist it was just a result of the anesthetic but within an hour of him being brought home his canine cracked in half. Hub vet refused to apologise or admit that something clearly must have happened to the kitten whilst he was in their care. HUB vet clinic is THE WORST pet clinic I have ever encountered. They're lying, greedy and unprofessional to the max. They may seem nice at first, but never go back and encounter the woman who thinks she is the office manager. She is a horrible, horrible, horrible human being and should not be in a service business especially with your pet. I intend to report them to all levels of pet care professionals, and make the ASPCA aware of their actions. Additionally, I am a 75-year-old woman with an Australian Shepherd. When I first got there, I was struggling to get my dog on the scale. They stood there and watched me struggle and finally decided oh let's give the dog a treat, and that was their way of helping me.....not helping me lift the dog up on the scale. They stood there and watched with a smirk on their face. I repeat, do not go there. There are so many other vets in this area that are far better. I REPEAT....DO NOT go there That little, feisty , so-called, office Mgr (name withheld) has no business servicing humans and their pets. Do not be fooled like I was. I checked pricing with ALL leadership pet associations and they agreed this was the only price that they charged $90 over original estimate And was incorrect and will be looked into. My estimate was 3 days past the 30day expire date because I had a severe accident with a head injury. I told them I will never return. It is my American right as a consumer to make sure that this does not go undetected -------for harassment, misrepresentation and price manipulation. I am writing about the most unprofessional experience I had with HUB in Port Chester. First ,the initial experience I had was overall positive. I was in a conflicted position of having to deal with with my dog who belonged to my Mother who recently passed away. My dog was having some significant issues . I was given the right advice at that time and they even completed some extra testing without charging. Overall this experience was positive on this day and this day only. As a result of this visit, my dog was placed on prescription food ( the vet gave me some large cans) to try at no cost which my dog actually enjoyed. I proceeded to order food through their online pharmacy , however, I was given the small cans which last significantly shorter in time than the larger cans I was initially given ( this is important). I found the same food on Chewy at a reduced price which simply required a veterinary prescription. At no point was I told I ha When I called today, I was met with a confrontational co-owner ( not the one I had dealt with earlier this week) who proceeded to berate me about a conversation that was never had , which would have explained why they don't deal with third party pharmacies. Had she approached this encounter in a professional manner, this review would be much different. I don't have an issue with having to use their online pharmacy, however, as a customer who paid a significant amount of money earlier this week, to get treated in such a unprofessional and lack of empathy says a lot about this one individual. Looking at the other comments, it seems there is a common theme in some capacity. Again this was simply over trying to order food.... I am conflicted as to whether I will go back. My dog is more than 16 years old, the only connecting piece of my Mother I have left. I simply wanted to order food and not be spoken at by some entitled co-owner. Empathy and compassion go a long way and should mean a hell of a lot more than the dollars and cents you get from the people that keep the business alive. I truly loved this place initially! Honestly did, but If you approach the front door, turn around & RUN! Was thinking I was getting best care, till after 3 visits. After the second, noticed bloody tongue when home lasted almost 8 hrs. They said they needed to muzzle.They never told me they needed to muzzle and I'm sorry, but I've had previous dogs that needed to be muzzled and this never happened before! My dog literally just got his teeth cleaned without sedation and there was no muzzle needed. That 3rd visit witnessed while waiting over 2 hours, overheard from lobby, in ER situation calling pet a fucking bitch , TOO many disgusting word's that would NEVER calm a pet. The owner wasn't there. Do you want screaming nasty words to your pet in extreme sickness? Tech came out to get other person to assist. The way she even spoke to her about the pet. The way that they speak to animals is UNACCEPTABLE & UNBELIEVABLE to me and I trusted my gut!! I left. I TRULY had heart sinking feeling in my stomach. I'm glad I trusted myself! They said urine blood & feces were normal. Until I faked that my vet from CA wanted records, found out my dog actually had a parasite. The medication they gave made him more sick. I'm so sorry to my pet because I took their word. No wonder he ended up at ER vet. Took him to Cornell & he was much better overnight! Not even kidding. I could actually clean up stool for the first time in almost 2 weeks. Cornell took away all the medication which were prescribed 4 out of 5 of them. The only medication left was a probiotic . I'm very sorry to the dog that was poisoned that came ahead of me, witnessed their torture for almost 2 hours! It's disgusting, appalling & please don't bring your baby here. The manager wanted to let me know that she was smart, over 20 years experience & guess what she just has a smart mouth. My dog was better in less than 12 hr after being off all of the medication. It was also wrongfully prescribed. The diagnosis was also incorrect, I'm so happy I left! Please don't do go here!!! PLEASE If you love your pets, there are plenty of amazing vets, not to mention ER! I did not have a good experience with my cat Bobby . He was in heart failure. I told them it's his heart when I walked in the door . I'm a retired Nurse . They did an x ray 3 views . Did some blood tests . Gave some medication . Started a line. Gabe oxygen. 1495$ later . I asked that they remove fluid from his lungs and or around his heart they refused unless I agreed to a 600$ echocardiogram. I refused and took him elsewhere . Where they told me the truth and had him put down after fluid removal . What a mistake taking him there !!!!!! Never again. They are experts at padding the bill . hi pet friends, I went to this place Hub Veterinary group in 316 Boston Post Rd, Port Chester, NY. It turned out to be a downer place to go to. I will never recommend anyone to go there. I went there because my dog had a vaginal prolapse. The lady in front desk, a secretary, gives me a quote for my dog's procedure. her name is Cortland, money-face, gave me an estimate of $2,800-$3340.60when I was there. She said it will be around this price range. When I cam back to pick up my dog, she gave me another quote and excuses that she needed to charge me $3675.31. The initial estimate was $3,340.60, and the final price is $3675.31. That is $334.71 over the estimate of what I agree with her. The fact that this place is not honest and I feel totally robbed by their pet business. I don't know anybody who has the same situation like me. I paid them because they have my dog. I don't feel nice about it and I want to tell that they are running a poor and unreliable practice to pet lovers. I didn't think they are right and most of all, I feel like I was being taken advantage of. I will not go back there again. This is a total mistake walking in. My dog needed a surgery and I went to them, not knowing what I walked myself into. There's no way to justify this, I hope the american canine association can help me or someone overseeing this. I started taking my other cat here for a cough she had. I was well attended to by their doctor, gave her a shot and the cough went away. Fast forward to my new cat who needs to get spayed and I went in for blood work. They leave me waiting an hour because of an issue with an uncontrollable dog. NOT MY PROBLEM (which they can't handle because of their incompetency). Not an apology from her that they were running behind, though they still kept me waiting. The owner named Courtney Bellew must be by far, the most incompetent, mouthy and disgustingly rude business owner I've ever seen. I complained to her about the wait. Not even an idea as to when my cat would be attended to. It was more like, "you don't like it, you can just leave". As I close the door to the waiting room because I did not want to hear her rudeness, she physically assaults me by pushing the door forcefully against me and tells me to get out. Did she show the camera footage to the police officer? Probably not, because she never called one. Another lie. Unlike what she wrote in response to the YELP review where she accuses me of the physical assault. It was HER!! SHE WAS THE ONE WHO CHOSE TO BE VIOLENT WITH A CUSTOMER by shoving the door against me. This woman has psychological issues, is prone to violence and doesn't mind repelling her own business which I deem laughable because there are other places that are way more affordable without the attitude. Maybe she should be committed. Her face reflects her mental incompetency. It's no surprise the other reviewer talks about her ripping them off. She has 0 customer service skills. Doesn't even look up from her phone when a customer is standing in front of her. I wouldn't put this person to work in a zoo, much less an establishment that serves humans. For what this place charges, they should reassess how they treat customers instead of shoving doors against them. The staff is more welcoming than the owner. It's more like "I'm the owner so I get to throw my weight around and treat people like trash", instead of setting an example for her employees.
