Terrible service. We went to get our Subaru inspected. The car was making a very loud sound. After waiting 2.5 hours they said "nothing is wrong, we did not hear any sound" and passed the inspection. Week later we took the car to another Subaru dealer and were told that it should never have passed inspection due to worn out tires and the issue that they caused (the sound). I suspect they never even tested the car, just "passed" it and charged the money. read more

Very unfortunate customer service. I made a service appt 3 weeks ago using the online page. I confirmed the appt and indicated that I would need a loaner car. At no point in that process was I made aware that this is not a guarantee. I spoke with four different people today (two of which told me they really couldn't answer my questions because it was their first day) and none of them were able to tell me if I should plan on having a loaner car tomorrow morning. The first person told me to call after 4 to see if any loaner cars were returned (shouldn't they know this?). So I did and got a different person who told me it was her first day and she really wasn't sure if I'd be able to get a loaner car, but she'd call me back before end of day to give me an answer (never did). I called ten minutes to closing to follow up and I was told I needed to speak to a manager (got their voicemail). Then I called back again and was told to call after 8am tomorrow (my appt is at 8:30) to see if a loaner car would be available. I explained I would need to leave my home with more time than that, so they told me to call at 7:30 to see if any cars were returned. I fully understand that loaner cars are not guaranteed, but if a customer thinks they have requested one and have planned on it (to get to their own place of work) it is important to be able to deliver on that. Had the first person I spoke with been able to tell me that there were no cars available and that my name was never on the list I would have simply rescheduled the appt for another time when I could be guaranteed a loaner. Now, I will likely seek out another service center due to my frustration and lack of faith in the operation of the business. read more

They totally suck I brought my 2018 Subaru in for air conditioning as it was blowing out hot air I dropped it off at 8:30 am after make 3 calls I was told the mechanic left and he did not leave any paperwork work soon 90 degree plus heat for a week I have heat not air. Went in for oil change and multi point inspection. It was determined that the front right axle was worn and oil leaking and air filter needed to be changed. It was also recommended to flush the power steering. (80k+ miles). I asked for some discount since they are doing multiple service. Guy said no. I checked their website, saw a 10% coupon, informed the guy, and it was applied. It left a bad taste that he couldn't do any discounts and it took me to check their website to get some discount. The younger guy that works there is much better in trying to help with some discount, but my review refers to an older man. Again, is just sad that I had to do further investigation just to get some discount that he probably already knows. read more

I was looking to trade in my car for something bigger and after a not so great experience with White Plains Subaru, I decided to go to Rye for this transaction. I do not regret this decision. Talk about the "warm and fuzzies" - this place was welcoming and honest; they paid attention to every detail, asked me countless times if I had questions, and what I found most amazing, was that the financial manager and the sales manager came outside to watch me drive off in my trade in with big smiles on their faces. My sales rep, Michael Ferits, was phenomenal. Attention to every detail, promised communication to the minute. It was the greatest experience I have ever had purchasing a car (and I've had 3 in my lifetime). I had an amount in mind that I wanted to pay and they were more than willing to work with me towards my goal. Once it was time to return my lease, I called the dealer's number (914 number and not the 1-800) and was informed by one of the employees that leased cars can be returned Mondays-Fridays from 9am to 5pm -- no appointments needed. I left work early on a Thursday to return the car and arrived at the dealer by 4:20pm. I was told to speak with Mike (he said he is the only employee in the dealer who processes lease returns), who told me that since I didn't have an appointment he could not help me. I told him I was simply following the instructions I was given on the phone, he made it seem like I was lying, just because I couldn't remember the name of the person who gave me that information. I was then dismissed by Mike who told me that I was making another client wait. If I wanted to return the car, the earliest he could see me was four days later. I returned four days later at the scheduled time. Mine was the first appointment of the day, and Mike hadn't arrived when I got to the dealership. I waited a few minutes until a sales associate offered to get things going for me. She filled out a simple one page form; took out my plates, and asked me to wait until Mike arrived. After waiting for 20 minutes, she asked for my email address and had me sign the one-page form so I could leave. In short, it would've taken any employee on Thursday less than 10 minutes to help me. Instead, Mike willfully chose not to process my return on that day and then never bothered to show up for my appointment four days later. I don't recommend a dealer where employees imply that clients are liars and unnecessarily make their lives more difficult. If Mike had an appointment on Thursday when I arrived at the dealer, he could've asked a sales associate to process my return or could've asked me to wait until the other client had been helped. Instead, he chose to be rude and difficult. If you need a Subaru dealer, go somewhere else. read more

Husband & I had been in the market for a new Subaru. We found a vehicle online at literally the last minute (on our way to Staten Island) & decided to make the drive up to Rye from Brooklyn. We had it all planned out. We were going to go in there with our best Poker faces & play hardball until we heard the magic #. We met with Anthony & it was easy going from that point on. He made it so simple for us. Granted Subaru's sell themselves, but he didn't hit us with any lame salesman tactics & he wasn't giving us nonsense about extra fees that don't exist. 24 hours later, we drove off the lot happy in our new Subaru. This dealership is no games, straight to the point & reasonable. We're glad Rye Subaru is our home base now & we look forward to doing business in the future. PRE-OWNED SALES DEPT. I normally do not write reviews for my car purchase experiences (have purchased many over the years) but my recent experience with Rye Subaru and in particular our salesperson, ANNIE A. has compelled me to share. I spent the last 2 weeks researching and locating the best, low mileage 2013 Subaru Forester I could find - looking from northern New England down to New York. Important parameters were low mileage, price, CarFax report (although this is only semi-useful) and consumer buying experiences at dealers reported via social media. There were many great car candidates but they were located at dealers that received multiple poor reviews. Then I located an appropriate car at Rye Subaru, read good reviews about Annie and confirmed the truths for myself! ANNIE has been in car sales for over a decade and appreciates mechanical quality. Most importantly she is the antithesis of the stereotypical aggressive "used car salesman" (sorry guys!). She is low key, professional, pleasant and helpful. Granted, I had already picked out the car but I'm sure she would have been very helpful with selection had we needed that. She asked us for a driver's license and then suggested we take the car (alone) for a test drive. When we returned she finished up with anther customer, and then in a relaxed manner approached us to inquire about our reactions to the drive. When we mentioned that the steering pulled to the left she immediately stated that it would be taken care of, no questions asked. We sat down at her desk, discussed a few more points regarding the car and I proposed a beginning offer price. Just like every dealership in America, Annie had to check with her manager, but again, this was a smooth, stress-less and very quick process. Rye Subaru's cars are fairly priced to begin with and I already knew what I felt was a reasonable price to pay. Very quickly we split the difference and had an amicable deal. No pressure, no hard sell. No being made to wait for hours, no boiler room visit to the F & I (finance) office. We had already secured financing with my daughter's credit union in NH and there was no push from Rye Subaru to "match the rate" etc. In fact, Annie very quickly took care of the whole out of state registration process and we were on our way. The next day when we came back to collect the car we were taken care of by ANGELO, the Manager of the pre-owned cars. We had a very pleasant experience with Angelo as well. One set of electronic keys was missing but he assured us it was already on order and would be forwarded to my daughter, along with the completed registration papers, etc. I will follow up/update this review in a few weeks so that readers know that the key set and reg. papers were delivered in a timely manner. read more

I purchased a 2005 Forester from Rye Subaru in 2014 and was very happy with the car itself. I used it as my station car and never had any issues with it. I used Rye Subaru for all of the servicing and inspections. Last year, I purchased another car and did not have further use for the Forester. I found a buyer and they wanted Rye Subaru to review the car to make sure there were no major issues. Rye Subaru then proceeded to tell them that I had not changed the timing belt as recommended at 7 years and that the head gasket was 'sweating'. The sale fell through. Rye Subaru did not tell me about the outstanding timing belt maintenance when I bought the car from them nor was it ever suggested in any of the regular maintenance appointments they conducted themselves. How does that happen? So without a buyer, I decided to see if Rye Subaru wanted to buyback the car for resale. I was told the sales manager was going to give me a call the next day to work out the details. I never received a return call for a week so I called the sales manager to discuss. He told me that he didn't call me back because they don't accept cars this old. Fair enough but at least have the customer focus to give me a call back! Get a Subaru...but don't get it here and don't service it here. read more

Several sales and non-sales people regularly checked up on us to make sure we were comfortable and gave us timely updates on process. They received payment for my new car and...the rest was history. I paid for an upgraded rear view mirror and it was not on when I went to pick up my car (salesman didn't even realize). I was told it would take 24 hours to come in. Two weeks later, still no mirror. Long story short - I asked for a refund after being promised by the manager that he would put the mirror on himself (never happened). I always made an appointment but my name was never on the board when I got there. Without fail, there's always a wait. As a first time car buyer I can say that it has been quite an unpleasant experience dealing with Rye Subaru. Do not buy a car from rye subaru!! I wish I could give them 0 stars. The worse car buying experience of my life. I walked in knowing which car I wanted and just needed my car appraised. (Kelly blue book said trade in value was what I owed) They said they would match what I owed on my car. And then gave me my monthly payment which was so much higher than it should be. THEY WOULD NOT SHOW ME THEIR MATH. Finally when I was showing them on a calculator it didn't make sense, they admitted they were giving me $2000 less than I owed on my car. I stood up and walked out. There seems to be a descrepancy between reviews left for service (bad) and reviews left for sales (good). This review pertains to sales. My daughter bought her first car -- a pre-owned 2018 Subaru -- from Rye. She pressed the sales dept. on every conceivable issue, from brakes to floormats. She even had them agree to an independent inspection by an outside garage -- which certified the car was in tip-top condition. She finagled over every detail, including every check on the 152 point Subaru safety inspection. The vehicle was everything the sales team said it would be! Annie Amorosana never lost her patience or put any pressure on my daughter to purchase the car. Mike Tierney wrapped up the deal with kindness and composure. I cannot recommend Rye Subaru highly enough, in particular the sales team of Annie and Mike. read more

He called me a liar because I said I wanted to service the car instead of have a new part installed. Still trying to determine the significance myself! Unbelievable. I don't have the "general manager's" name because he was too cowardly to give it to me over the phone. I haven't purchased a car here, but it would have been my first choice due to proximity and our love for Subarus. Dishonest. Was told by Mike that the used car they had advertised on internet was still available. Before leaving the house I called was told by Ron that the car is on the lot. Once I got there the car was never found on the inventory list and I was told that the "Manager took the car", which is another way of saying we don't have one here. Came in for simple break pad / rotor replacement (few hundred) and was told I needed all this unnecessary work (air filters, transmission fluids) totaling over $2000! Now I'm not a mechanic, so I really don't know any better, but guess what I can use google and read my owners manual. NONE of these things needed changing. Transmission fluid needs topping off, not changing, air filters were JUST replaced. I really do not appreciate being treated like a walking money bag idiot. Also, after complaining about the price, I was told they would throw in an oil change for free. Guess what showed up on my bill? Charged for the oil change. These guys are running a scam. Again, don't go here unless you want to flush your money away. Side note, I had excellent experience at the Danbury subaru service dept though. read more

Very poor after-service support. I had an airconditioner issue immediately after a service and airbag recall replacement, and was told unequivocally that the issue was unrelated and I would need to bring the car back in and pay a $205 diagnostic for them to even look at the car. They are scammers and liars and extremely rude. I took my car in about a month ago for a full inspection and oil change. Everything checked out well. Now this past week. It turns out my car had no oil and our car pipes had a leak they says. How are you going to miss a leak in a car!? If my car wasn't fine and had a leak before why didn't they tell me!? Now when I went back to get it checked out. The mechanic tells me sometimes they forget to put the oil cause they're so busy. The account service agent tell me they put oil. I'm going to believe the mechanic. They purposely ruined my car to get more money out of us. And to top it off. They were extremely rude and kept pushing us to come back and get it fixed there. I will absolutely not return to these thief's. And they won't do anything to repair my car cause of their mistake. PLEASE ONCE AGAIN AVOID THIS AREA AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This is my second Subaru but my first with Rye Subaru, and from the beginning, it was less than thrilling. Michoel was not the best - I made an appointment to pick my car up, and he was helping someone else. An hour later, he finally got to me, but the car wasn't gassed up. He disappeared for 45 minutes, and then needed to deal with paperwork. Finally, when I was on my way out, he harassed me about "Giving him all 10s" on a survey (which actually is not allowed by law). I told him that I was tired and just wanted to leave with my car (I paid cash, and just wanted to leave...I just don't like to be kissed up to. I'm a no thrills type of person) Now, 30 days later, I have an expired temporary registration, no title and no permanent registration. I called the dealer, and they told me, "well, when the cops run it, you're ok, because you actually are registered...so don't worry." Too bad, because I'm trying to move to a new state for my brand new job, which requires me to re-register my car within 30 days, and I need both a valid registration certificate AND a title of ownership, neither of which I have thanks to Rye Subaru. They're great at finding cars fast, but have horrible customer service. Never will I purchase a car again from there, nor will I be giving Michoel all 10s. I will be servicing my car in CT where I live, and will be calling them each day until I have my valid registration and title, both of which I'm entitled to since I own the car in full. read more

Recently went here for some test drives. My salesman, Tom, was very helpful, professional and straight-forward. I admired his candor. He was interested in getting me in the right car, not the most expensive. After I had Tom crunch all the numbers and find the car I wanted, I had to tell him that I couldn't make the purchase. This review is for the service department for Rye Subaru. I had to bring my car here because my AC stopped working on my leased 2015 Legacy. My car came from this Subaru but I live closer to another dealership so I typically go there for service. I work closer to Rye so it was easier to drop my car here on the way to work. I am SO happy I did. Dropping off the car couldn't have been easier. I pulled up and there were several guys outside (clearly busy) but immediately told me where to go or even took my car right on the spot. I walked in just to give them my ticket and they took my number and told me they would call my work phone to tell me when it would be ready. I spoke with Dennis (who honestly has the best customer service skills I have ever encountered). He was so friendly, polite, quick and efficient. He gave me a call about an hour before the car was done to give me an update and to tell me when I could pick it up by. When I walked in, he remembered me and immediately radioed to get my car to the front. I signed the paperwork and was on my way. I had to bring my car back because the AC stopped working after a few days. I called up and spoke with Dennis, who told me they ordered the parts and to just drop it off on my way to work and they would get it done. It was PACKED when I got there and even so, someone came to take my car to move it immediately because there was literally no where to go. They completely defused a potentially frustrating situation for customers. Again, Dennis knew who I was upon walking in and I was all set to go within seconds. He gave me a call when he had an update and I picked it up effortlessly. I was pretty bummed I didn't get a survey to fill out for this department because they were just so amazing. Every single staff member was so polite. My AC has been running well since getting it back. I would absolutely go out of my way to bring my car here for future oil changes or issues. read more

"Salesperson" was rude and uninformative. I called the manager to give him the heads up as to why I'd gone elsewhere, and he was just as bad! I went to Rye Subaru in order to buy a 2016 Outback Limited with several options. I received a great quote for the new car and trade-in from a different Subaru dealer in Westchester and wanted to compare. At Rye Subaru I decided to use the car buying service that the AAA offers. I was very pleased that they gave me a great price on the new vehicle but, the quote I received from another dealer was identical. However, they also told me I might wait 12 weeks for delivery (I was there on Sept. 1)). Unfortunately, Rye Subaru offered me $2,700 less for my 2011 Honda CR-V! When I asked the saleswoman why I was getting so little for my trade-in (it had only 29,000 miles on it) she said it wasn't worth more. Neither are they. I bought my Outback from the first Subaru dealer I went to and have been enjoying it since last week (about 6 weeks after I placed the order). read more
