I decided to see Dr Ryu after not getting relief from western medicine for health ailments that have been popping up here and there. He checked my pulse, looked at my tongue, and was able to name off symptoms I was experiencing before I even told him my chief complaint. He was even able to pinpoint little aches here and there that I didn't bother mentioning. Working long hours, not getting adequate rest, not eating well enough for a prolonged period took a toll on my liver health which then created a domino effect on my other organs. I started to receive acupuncture at least once a week. Unlike western medicine, which yields quicker relief of symptoms but doesn't necessarily cure you, TCM requires patience to fix your bodily imbalances and target the root cause. Dr Ryu explained that many issues were created over a long period of time that you can't expect to be reversed overnight. A few months in, I realized I started having periods with minimal PMS symptoms (breast tenderness, cramping, moodiness). When I brought that up, he explained that normal periods weren't supposed to hurt. They were supposed to be free of PMS symptoms, clot-free, and not debilitating. Shocking because these are all "normal" in western medicine. It was through this that I was able to see the magic of TCM. It's been several months since I've started treatment and although I'm not at 100% yet, I'm now educating myself on how to better support my body through TCM. Office staff are all friendly and efficient. Their waiting room is small and does fill up fast but their processes run smoothly. Dr Ryu puts in the needles, Veronica removes them. Despite it being a bit of a drive for me, I'm willing to make the trip out because I learn something new every time I come in. On my most recent visit, Jennifer was telling me they also offer fire cupping which might help relieve stagnations for people like myself, a nurse who works long, laborious hours. They actually have a healthcare discount so that's something that I can recommend to my friends and coworkers to try some day too!

Dr. Ryu is wonderful! He has helped multiple different members of my family with ailments ranging from injured joints to helping my wife and I conceive. It is very apparent that Dr. Ryu is the real deal and I would recommend him to anyone contemplating acupuncture/herbal medicines. Thank you Dr. Ryu for all of your help and expert

The last and effective labor-inducing treatment day!

I was up front from the beginning when I made my initial appointment that I have been experiencing this pain and that a main point of the appointment is to discuss it. At no point in time was I told that this would cause the appointment to not be covered by my insurance. While I made the appointment and before when I filled out paperwork, even though I made it CLEAR that I was experiencing pain, this was never mentioned. Then a week later I am told this was not covered and I owe over $450 because I 'discussed pain' with the doctor. Mind you, discussing the pain was unavoidable as the questionnaire they give you explicitly asks about pain and any adverse issues. So I was charged $450+ for being in pain, essentially. I feel hurt and disgusted and cheated. I came here trying to get help for a terrifying issue that is putting me in a lot of fear. And instead of getting answers, I was billed $450+ for even mentioning that I am in pain. Someone needs to be held accountable for this injustice and if anything the receptionists and doctors should at least feel responsible to warn a patient that we may be charged hundreds of dollars simply for saying that we are in pain. Words cannot express how hurtful and traumatizing this is especially after years of experiencing similar injustices with insurance and healthcare providers. I just wanted help and instead I feel cheated and violated. And I was given no sympathy for this whatsoever by receptionists or insurance even though I am sure they are dealing with these hurt patients they have cheated all day and therefore lost some of their humanity. Providence healthcare, and America needs to do better. You all should be ashamed.

During my most recent 90-minute massage, the therapist introduced a treatment that was never explained to me or discussed beforehand. I wasn't asked for my consent until after it had already been used on one side of my body. I later learned it wasn't even part of the massage service I had booked. I left with significant marks on my legs for days afterward--something I absolutely would have declined had I been given the opportunity to make an informed decision beforehand. To their credit, management acknowledged my concerns and confirmed that this technique is not part of the massage service they offer. However, the resolution offered didn't reflect the seriousness of what happened. When I respectfully explained why I didn't feel it was appropriate and asked them to reconsider, I never received another response. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, what began as an issue with informed consent ended with poor follow-through and communication from management. After years of supporting this business, spending hundreds of dollars on services and gift certificates, I expected much better. I hope they take informed consent more seriously and do a better job standing behind their services when they fall short.
