I could not have had a worse experience in this office. I rarely write reviews, but had to write this one. I went in with excruciating back pain after several days of coughing. The doctor asked me some questions through his interpreter and seemed incredulous when I told him I had no prior back pain and I just thought I had strained my back muscles. He put needles in my back, 20 minutes later he took them out and left the room. His "assistant"(?) watched as I struggled mightily to get up from the table and put my clothes on in excruciating pain. Minutes later in the lobby, I couldn't bend over to zip up my shoes and asked her to help me. She looked at me and said "We don't do that. I'll do it this one time. Next time, you sit there and do it yourself". I was dumbfounded. The doctor came out and told me I had a slipped disc and needed to come back many, many times. The next day I went to a chiropractor someone recommended. He told me I DID NOT have a slipped disc, just strained muscles. After several visits I was totally fine. Oh, and Dr. Donald Fluegel, the wonderful holistic chiropractor, helped me put my shoes on until I could bend over myself. He had no problem doing that. That's a caring professional. I don't know what they are at this acupuncture clinic, but I feel for all the people who go there and believe they have a condition that they don't really have. read more

This Acupuncturist CHANGED MY LIFE!!! After having two surgeries on my right toe, one to repair a bunion in 2011, which instead, turned into a metal screw being put in the joint, causing me to have chronic 6-8/10 pain, not be able to walk properly, and having an RX for Norco (which I refused to take and simply lived with the pain) as a solution for my post surgical pain issue; In 2020, I decided to remove the metal screw; Both surgeries destroyed my right toe, I went to three specialists who all told me I would have to have a third surgery in order to possibly improve the pain and be able to be active again by doing some type of prosthetic thing on my toe joint.I had lost hope with these foot specialists and surgeons, and in ever walking properly again. I was taking Aleeve PM to sleep and Ibuprofin daily, to try to tame the inflammation and pain, and all that was doing was damaging my stomach and kidneys, pain was still present no matter what I did, even in bed when laying down to sleep it was a 6/10 constantly, a stinging and stabbing type of pain. A month ago, I was stuck in Studio City due to a car issue, and while waited I saw this Acupuncture Clinic, and decided to walk in there and ask about their services. They were very welcoming and provided a consultation with Dr. Ko right away; I ended up having a treatment right then and there, and I kid you not, for the first time after 12 years, I felt true relief from that chronic pain, and it felt like a bunch of knots and lumps had been released from the joint! My toe even looked more straight, after the very first treatment. I was so pleased that I paid for the 10 treatments in advance, and am on my 8th treatment today. I have been walking again, instead of driving, I can exercise and sleep without any need to take NSAIDS since my first treatment. My toe is mobile, the lumps around it are vanishing, it looks and feels just like my healthy toe, on the left foot!! It is truly a MIRACLE! Before I found this Acupuncturist I was considering chopping my toe off and adding a prosthetic toe, if that was going to solve the constant pain I had, and the inability to walk. I was experiencing pain in my neck. I couldn't sleep very much and when I did, I'd wake up in pain. The pain lasted all day and all night. I tried over the counter meds, didn't work - then one morning (after waking up nearly in tears from pain), I decided I'd give acupuncture atry for the first time. My hubby found the office and after the first session, the pain reduced to about 60-70%. It was such a relief! Dr. Ko and his staff spoke to me to discuss my issues before my first session. I felt heard and they made me feel extremely comfortable. After my second session, the pain was at about 30%. My quality of life is better after each session. Today, I've had my third sessions and I'm feeling like a brand new person. I've already recommended acupuncture to family and friends and will continue to do so because it works. I'm excited to continue my journey with Dr. Ko and his staff, as I tend to experience lower back pain as well. I get excited for my sessions because I know I'll feel better after. One major plus that I neglected to mention is they give you instructions on what to do AFTER your session. Stay warm, keep calm, no exercise. I've heard from others that their acupuncturist hasn't always told them about after care. Additionally, I'm very happy with their level of cleanliness. Don't EVER go here. Dr. Ko put my husband under a heat lamp for back spasms and gave him second degree burns!!! He stuck some needles in him, put a heat lamp very close and left the room. When he came back 25 mins later and my husband told him that it was really hot and uncomfortable his assistant said "you should have told me". How? He left the room, closed the door, left my husband butt naked head down on a table with a heat lamp very close to him. How was he supposed to tell him? He didn't come and check on him once! My husband had to go urgent care and then the dermatologist to deal with the burns. I had to dress his wounds for two weeks! To be fair, he did reimburse my husband for the treatment and the cost of the dermatologist and urgent care, but quite frankly we should have sued him given the harm he caused him. I had to change his bandages twice a day so that he did not get an infection. Dr. Ko is dangerous. Go to a qualified acupuncturist that a)speaks English b) abides by the Hippocratic oath of "above all do no harm". My husband has been permanently scarred, both figuratively and literally. I found this clinic through my insurance and heard positive reviews. Ten years ago, acupuncture was recommended to me by a few friends. And I disregarded their suggestion because I didn't believe it was real nor effective. And it also came up five years ago from my therapist. Again, I was reluctant and eventually decided against trying it. That changed when I did some reading online and also realized that I didn't really have anything to lose. I tried medication, exercise, yoga, and meditation. None were really helpful. I also went to specialists and spend so much time trying to help address my issues with emotional and physical well being. It's been one month since I've started treatment and here's what I can share: - I wish I did it sooner and was so foolish for waiting - it's not painful at all. It feel like a toothpick is gently pushing on your skin. - the 10-15 minute session is relaxing and peaceful. It's quiet and warm, and the office has a comforting and calmness that is really pleasant - the benefits to me are noticing improved mood and being more stable (not bouncing all around), and I've also felt physically more energized and less lethargic and less tired. - the main issue I'm working to treat is still prevalent but it's definitely less terrible than it was. And I know acupuncture is the cause of the improvement because I haven't changed anything else in my life The other thing I'd like to share is the office staff are two friendly ladies who are welcoming, cordial, and friendly. Dr Ko is also very kind and gentle. He has limited abilities speaking English, but the staff is always translating and communicating. My first visit was powerful because he seemed to understand me and my issues without me having to say anything. I felt a good connection from the start. If anything, I hope you'll at least consider acupuncture and that this helps encourage you to try it. Whether or not Dr Ko is right for you is a matter of your personal experience.
