Can't tell you which one I liked best. The Fire Cracker sushi probably is tied w/ bbq Korean beef bao. SO good.

Pre birthday meal: Edamame, spicy Korean bbq beef bao, first time beef bibimbop...AMAZING. Fire Cracker sushi...fire. Everything was so tasty. Affordable. 19 min distance, relatively quick. Ordered right before close. Packaged well, no damage. Driver was nice and efficient. No complaints. If there is one thing I'll order on Uber Eats, it is this place. Highly recommended everything listed above.

Meat selections are great. I liked the spicy bulgogi. This place has a lot of items to choose from which I like. The ambience was nice but kinda dark the lights were not bright enough and I couldn't see whether the meat was cooked or not. The last thing I don't like about this place is the auto added 20% gratuity though you can ask and remove it, doesn't seem right that the restaurant dictates how much the customers should tip. On top of that, there's suggested tip at the bottom of the receipt after all tax and gratuity are added. I recommend this place but I will support other Korean bbq businesses that don't do automatic gratuity on the bill.

One of my favorite restaurants to frequently dine for date night but my last experience will unfortunately make it my last. Our dining experience went down hill from the start. I work in the service industry but this was unacceptable. Service was so slow we were only able to order twice and receive a total of 4 meats for AYCE. Our grill had to be replaced several times due to the oil placed on it burning without any meat by a server passing by. We came hungry and unfortunately left hungry forcing us to stop somewhere else on the way home.

The AYCE deal is good - albeit I do feel it could've been a little less than it was. Our reservation was at 8pm and the kitchen closed at 9pm - the service, while not bad, didn't allow us to fully utilize the hour as we do in other AYCE places. The serving per plate of meat was little (2 person so a hassle when you're 6) so we had to keep ordering whenever the only server was around. I wish they would digitalize the ordering system for ease of customers if they're charging $40+ per person. Other than the above possibly minute issue, it was a good experience. The appetizers were amazing as was the BBQ meat. The variety is great so there is everything for everyone.

Ryuu has some of the best Korean bbq in Chicago. Then when you the AYCE element, best bang for your buck, that's for sure. For $32 a person (before tip+tax) you can order almost anything and everything off the menu. Seemingly high quality meats and CRAZY good appetizers. Seriously, don't sleep on the apps. Then, they give you this platter of sides and sauces including kimchi, egg, seaweed, and more. My absolute favorites off the menu are the beef bulgogi, LA kalbi, crab Rangoon, and avocado spicy tuna. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because I didn't that many napkin or water refills which are definite necessity when you're eating this good. Overall, this meal is well worth it. Fun for the family and makes your tummy happy. Make sure to wear your eating pants!

5/5 - One of the best places I've been AND it's all you can eat. Servers were very helpful and the food came out very quick. Whole meal was incredible, I would've given 5/5 just for the appetizers alone.

The food was delicious here. I didn't get the traditional cook at the table meat so the meat came cooked but it was delicious. got the bulgogi. Didn't really care too much for the sauces - the meat was great on its own. Which it came with more veggies and the wraps, but only option was rice. I also would have liked a lunch option with 2 meats and an app. 20 bucks for 3 chicken wings, bulgogi, white rice, and kimchi. Would come back to try the all you can eat

I had made reservations for 4, but the kids canceled on us last minute. I called in to change the reservation from 4 to 2, and had no problem doing that. This place was pretty full when we arrived and it seemed like they had stop taking people in. So make a reservation if at all possible, because you might not have any luck if you try to come in as a walk in. We were originally planning on ordering a la carte, but somehow convinced ourselves to do the All You Can Eat. There's a lot of rules and regulations on this, but don't order like an idiot and you'll be fine. The max is two items per person at a time, and that's honestly enough for one sitting. Where you have to be careful is ordering a bunch of appetizers. Don't be a dumbass like myself. The thing is they offer all the popular Asian appetizers. Crab rangoon, fried dumplings, lumpia and a bunch of other popular ones. Yea I did order the ones mentioned. I couldn't help myself. They were all good except for the lumpia. Not the greatest and definitely wouldn't order it again. For the meats, we ordered beef only. We got Ribeye, chadolbaegi, spicy beef bulgogi, and Kalbi. They were all good except for maybe the chadobaegi. It's a brisket cut; but just cut way to think and lacked any flavor. I also ordered their Thai fried rice and it comes in a big bowl. So definitely a lot of food. They also literally all my favorites Asian dishes so it was difficult to choose the right mix. Have to focus on just meat next time. Will definitely be returning.

Solid place for AYCE Korean BBQ in Chicago, which could honestly use some more KBBQ joints. The menu has a lot of meat options, including KBBQ staples like bulgogi, kalbi (short ribs), pork belly, chicken, and seafood, as well as a variety of more fusion style meats like thai chicken, etc. There is a nice selection of appetizers like egg rolls, dumplings, and crispy rice tuna or crispy rice avocado. Honestly, the crisspy rice appetizers were the tastiest dish we got. The rice was perfectly crisped, loaded with spicy tuna mixture or avocado, and more than enough spicy mayo and unagi sauce (they were so tasty we got another round of each at the end of our meal). The meats were all fresh and reasonable quality, but the marinade and flavor of each was hit or miss. The short ribs and pork belly were both thick and juicy, but some other meats were a bit disappointing like the ribeye which was super thin and too garlicky, or the bulgogi which too sweet compared to other typical kbbq joints. The service was great, there wasn't much of a wait for any of our orders, and the drink menu is surprisingly cheap. At $32 a person for unlimited appetizers, hot entrees (which we didn't get but they have a lot of), and fresh meats, Ryuu is worth a try even if not all the meats hit the mark.

    Yes.

Then I saw the KBBQ menu and all bets were off. I immediately pivoted and ordered the chef's tasting set, the Diweji, featuring pork jowl, pork collar, and pork belly, complete with an assortment of banchan. Zero regrets. And here's the part that should tell you everything you need to know: I am a certified radish hater. I avoid it whenever possible. Yet somehow, I found myself repeatedly reaching for the radish banchan and asking for more. Even the soup - which also featured radish - was absolutely delicious. If Perilla can convert someone who actively dislikes radish into a fan for one meal, that's saying something. The soju was exactly what I wanted with Korean barbecue: crisp, clean, and refreshing. I appreciate that it was neutral rather than overly sweet. The flavored, sweeter versions aren't really my thing unless the food is setting my mouth on fire. Speaking of spice, the wings were good: juicy, well-executed, and satisfying but I kept wishing they packed a little more heat. They weren't spicy at all, and a bigger kick would have taken them from very good to unforgettable. As for the meats, the pork jowl was gloriously rich and fatty, exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The pork collar ended up being my favorite: flavorful, tender, and with just the right balance of meat and fat. The pork belly was comforting and familiar - the classic KBBQ staple done well, with beautifully rendered edges and that indulgent quality that makes it a crowd-pleaser for a reason. The set also came with potatoes that were unexpectedly delicious. My only complaint? It was far too much food for one person. The service deserves its own mention. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The entire meal was delivered with efficiency and a smile, making a solo diner feel completely comfortable lingering and enjoying the experience. What I thought would be a quick happy hour stop turned into one of my favorite meals.

We ordered a seafood soup, seafood pancake, and a salmon crunch roll. We quickly realized that this was an atypical Korean restaurant experience as we did not receive banchan and there were not many traditional options on the menu. I think that should've been our cue to go, but we stayed and were very disappointed. The service was extremely slow. We had to ask multiple times when it was coming, and when the food finally came out, it was underseasoned and the texture was very off. The seafood pancake tasted deep fried and had chunks of imitation crab. It had the texture of an unrisen focaccia. The soup was tasteless, and the salmon roll was drenched in mayo and eel sauce. They also gave us a "special" hot sauce that tasted like just a mix of sriracha and Tabasco. Small highlights: the ambiance was nice; it seemed clean. Waiter was nice enough. I hate giving bad reviews, but this was quite a shocking meal.

You know, 5 star service is such a lost art, it makes you forget how much you miss it when all of a sudden it happens to be right in front of you. Ricardo, our bartender, what a gem. Forget about the perfectly made drinks that were served to us. Ricardo made us feel right at home with his kind disposition and friendly demeanor. But it doesn't just stop at Ricardo. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well. They were not extra or over the top in anyway. But you can tell when something is done well and correctly, just like these fries were. The Premium Steakhouse Set, in my opinion, is all two people need to enjoy this very special experience. All the accompanying condiments were exceptional on their own and could have functioned as their own course. The Japchae glass noodles were a stunner. The real sleeper was the chopped lettuce greens tossed in their chili vinaigrette. Could have eaten 20 bowls of those lettuce greens. Sadly, I forgot the name of our server who cooked and cut our meat for us. She really added to the experience. We arrived about 20 minutes before opening, expecting a wait, which is totally normal for a popular pop-up. What wasn't normal was that once they opened, they started pulling people out of the line if they wanted full service and planned to eat inside. This created a confusing system where people who arrived much later than us were able to order, eat, and leave before we had even placed our order. I understand that pop-ups can be busy, but the line moved painfully slowly. We ended up waiting about an hour and a half, which felt excessive, especially given how the line was being managed. There were also some smaller issues that added to the frustration. The menu advertised everything bagels, but that's not what we received. The sandwich was around $20, which is pretty steep for a breakfast sandwich. When we ordered, we specifically asked if the sandwich came cut in half and were told, "Yes, it would be way too messy if they weren't pre-cut." Then the sandwich arrived uncut. As for the food itself, it was fine. Not bad, but definitely not memorable enough to justify the long wait, confusing organization, and price point. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but the experience was frustrating and ultimately not worth the time we spent waiting.

Run to Parachute HiFi! Chef Beverly Kim's recent appearance on America's Culinary Cup made me want…read moreto try her latest rendition of Parachute, Parachute HiFi. It's a more relaxed concept than the OG, serving Korean inspired bar food and inventive cocktails. While I liked the original Parachute, I am obsessed with Parachute HiFi. You must order the bing bread. It's what they are known for, and for good reason. It reminded me of a large doughy pizza roll, in the best way. I was also in love with the tapioca fritters with pepper jelly. The texture of the tapioca fritter was so unique and fun, and the pepper jelly was seriously out of this world. Bottle that stuff up and sell it! Whoever said the ttebokki pad Thai didn't taste like pad thai was wrong - it does and was a satisfying dish that I'd order again! I love twists on a classic and it was so smart to use rice cakes instead of the traditional noodles. The cocktails all sounded amazing, especially having names like pineapple upside down cake and black sesame. They got me intrigued for sure. Both cocktails were well balanced and enjoyable. Can't wait to return to try more from the menu (like that burger!)
