I'm always about supporting local, small businesses, but unfortunately, this place just isn't what it used to be. We came in today to dine in because we had a Groupon, only to find out that they no longer accept it, even though the deal is still actively being offered on Groupon. Aside from that, the food unfortunately just didn't taste as good as it used to. Crazy Noodles: Very plain and lacking the flavor I remember. The beef was also extremely dry and overcooked. Pad Ped Pla Duke: The coating on the fish was chewy, and there were only a few pieces of fish in the dish. Baby Egg Rolls: The highlight of my night! These were the only thing that really hit the spot. Overall, this visit was a huge disappointment compared to my previous experiences. I've been here more than five times and it used to be one of our go-to spots whenever we were craving Thai food. Sadly, based on this visit, this will probably be my last time coming here. Chicago Thai food is usually on point but this meal did not meet the mark. Everything was very bland with minimal to no flavor. We had to add soy sauce and other flavors to pep it up. My spouse said that the broth of his ramen was good but the eggs were not boiled right and they used spaghetti type noodles for the ramen. I requested the pad see eiw medium spicy and I got this little cup of spice and it added no spice to the dish. I'm not sure what was in the crab rangoon but it had no flavor. My friends decided that Thai sounded good and they picked this place close to the house we met up at. I've passed by Sen Thai a lot but never stopped in. It's a cozy little spot where the staff are very friendly and they serve a pretty standard Thai menu with the addition of Ramen and a couple other non-Thai options. We got seaweed salad, edamame, tiny egg rolls and potstickers for appetizers. These were all very tasty and I especially liked the mini egg rolls which were packed full of flavorful ground chicken. I went with the spicy basil beef for my own dish. I liked that our server asked whether I wanted ground or sliced beef. The slices were tasty and the basil was very flavorful. That being said the sauce was on the saltier side and that seemed to be a common thing for most everyone's mains. I still finished my whole plate and the perfect portion of fragrant white rice that came with it though. My friends who ordered the ramen said it was good but that jt didn't necessarily stand out from other places. Aloe juice was a generic juice with aloe, couldn't drink too much juice due to all the jelly at the bottom. Pretty sure it's the same aloe Vera juice that you can get at any Asian packet in a packet. The Thai tea was super good, super fresh, delicious. I got the duck curry, so so flavorful and such a big portion. The rice portion was a little smaller than what I thought it was gonna be, but overall the dish was prob one of the best ones there. It had a hint of spicy and it all tasted super fresh. Duck was fire! My bf got the lard Nar & he loved the noodles. We thought it was different noodles, but this was delicious too. The gravy was so flavorful & it had great consistency. Good size portion overall. Ambiance was so nice, it was bright in there, we sat by the window with lights. The music in there was calming & it felt relaxing. Overall, amazing experience. This is the best Thai food in the city! Used to be Spoon Thai but closed and reopened with Ramen. Same people and same amazing Thai food. Duck curry is perfect and enough to feed two people easily. The Tod mun (fish fritter) is wonderful and I've only had it here. They have many Thai dishes on the menu that you don't see elsewhere including many tasty sausages. They used to have a transliterated Thai menu you could get online and bring in. I tried it a few times and had some great dishes that were very, very spicy. Beautiful dinning room with attentive polite service. Their Choo Chee Kung-shrimp in red curry sauce is my favorite dish. Great crab Rangoon--not all cream cheese. Sen Thai was tasty and delicious, but when compared to other Thai, it's just not my favorite. My friend and I were in the area on a Sunday afternoon, starving, and our go-to spot was closed. So we popped into Sen Thai. They have a small dining room but nicely designed. For an appetizer, we shared the crab rangoon. It was delicious and in cute crescent shapes. For our entrees, we each got the Kao Soy. I got mine with tofu and my friend got hers with chicken. It was a delicious Kao Soy, don't get me wrong. But it was milder than I expected. And my friend said her chicken just didn't add to the dish like it normally does for her. My tofu worked well and soaked up the flavors, it's just the flavors were milder than I wanted. Overall it's a solid spot but I don't know if I'd go again. Not because it was bad, it's just it wasn't better than my usual spots. They do have the added benefit of being open on Sunday afternoons though. read more

Absolutely loved this place. Very warm and cute inside, and the service was fast and friendly. We shared the Sai Oua sausages as an appetizer and it was super flavorful and delicious, plus totally new to us. Our entrees were also amazing. I got the Thai Noodle soup (tangy, savory, meaty) and my partner got the Kao Soy (sweet, creamy, comforting). Both were fantastic and again so flavorful. I have been to many of the Thai restaurants in the neighborhood and this one ranks in the top 3 for sure. Our first visit. We will definitely visit again. Generous portions, served hot. Fresh and fast. I had the tempura appetizer and green curry. First time going here and ordered the Lard Nar, and really loved the gravy sauce on the dish. Although I wish the noodles were a bit more crispy, I will come back to try the other dishes! I am very disappointed with the chicken ramen. I should have known that "fried chicken ramen" may not have an authentic taste. The flavor is bland. Could have used more garlic, green onions,etc. I make a very good recipe that combines ingredients from various ramen dishes I've tried at restaurants and it is much better than this.
