I love Korean food and have even spent time living in Korea, so I was curious to see their take. The dumplings at Bigsuda are hot and fresh. I especially loved the crunch crunch shrimp and the soup dumplings were a favorite at our table. The seafood pancake was good, with lots of shrimp and calamari pieces in it, but way too many scallions for our tastes. I can appreciate the variety of vegetarian and seafood dishes, as we were here during Lent. I also like that the spicier dishes were clearly noted. Bigsuda is a great spot for some inventive Asian-fusion flavors! The space is vibey, but not super upscale where you can both make a cute date night out of it, but also can have a chill dinner if you prefer instead. The staff is super friendly and were helpful in explaining the menu! The food we ordered was all good and as described by our waiter. Our favorite dish was the Galbi & Pork Mandoo, while it felt like the Marshmallow Brulee Sundae missed the mark as the ice cream seemed a bit stale (although the brûlée toppings were a super unique combination of flavors). The only reason I'm giving Bigsuda a 4 vs 5 star is because I personally would not crave to get the dishes I got this time around again (in addition to the aforementioned, we also got Kurobuta Pork XLB, Elote Mandoo, and the Ojingeo Ceviche). We stumbled in because we were in the area, and I'm so glad we did! We sat at the bar and enjoyed the lychee cocktail and a variety of dishes. We got the short rib guksu, which was my favorite. It was similar to ramen broth but with korean style guksu noodles. The bibimen was a little too similar to this dish just without the broth, and wasn't anything like the bibimyun I've had in my korean culture. It's definitely on the heavier side - the ground meat and sauce to noodle ratio was too high and salty/heavy in my opinion. The shrimp and crab soup dumplings though were delicious. The lamb gochu twigim was nothing at all what I expected - it was more of a fried egg roll. My fiancé liked these but I could have skipped. Service was prompt and quick. The place is nice inside. I'd definitely like to try more dishes next time, as the flavors were very good just not really what I was expecting because it's much more fusion than sticking to the original cuisine. read more

Really interesting newer Korean fusion spot! My friend and I paid a late night visit after a show and were intrigued by the menu, which featured both reimagined takes on traditional dishes and new concepts altogether. We started with the kimchi and pork steamed mandoo, pork xiaolongbao, and the sweet corn mandoo. I felt that the first two were a little on the bland side- the mandoo could have used a stronger kimchi flavor and the soup dumplings could have had more flavor in the broth. The sweet corn mandoo, however, was excellent. I loved the creamy sauce and diced apple- it was a wonderfully executed concept. We also split the bibimmen, which was absolutely decadent and not for the faint-of-stomach! It reminded me a lot of carbonara with its rich sauce and deep pork flavor, but was also very spicy. My only complaint is that the pork belly was a bit overcooked and chewy. Throughout the meal, the employees were very attentive and professional. I saw somebody recommend this place on tik tok, and I decided to try it with one of my friends. The inside is not big, but it's not too small either. It is decorated quite nicely. Not very much lighting, but in the summer the front is open to let natural light come in. Our server was very nice and helpful. He was also attentive. The food was BOMB. I can see this place becoming really busy soon and be a hot spot to get a table. The menu is fun- focused on soup dumplings and mandoos. A lot of creative entrees and appetizers! MUST: their clam Kung Pao spaghetti was so good- perfect al dente noodles, the SAUCE was amazing (good kick but not too spicy) and good portions of clams. JEERA Ribs- the meat just falls off the bone, again the SAUCE. Wow. Order a side of rice and mix the sauce for a good pair. Although the rice cost over $3 for a small bowl so I would recommend some more rice for the price. Tried their pork soup dumpling (4 per order, larger dumpling sizes- soup was dark and good and the meat filling was great) OPPORTUNITY: Crabby Clam Puffs (supposed to be similar to a crab Rangoon) but it was a miss. It was almost too spicy for me so ppl who can't handle spice at all shouldn't be ordering this one. Haemul pajeon was tasty. Jeera pork ribs were pretty good. We ordered 2 desserts, the marshmallow brûlée sundae and bitter orange tiramisu. The balsamic on the brûlée sundae was very interesting, but somehow it worked, I kept going back for more. The bitter orange tiramisu however did not work imo. The bitterness overpowered any other flavor and it was too much, too assertive of a flavor for dessert. The desserts were also small, just fyi, the pics make them look big, but they def aren't big, not in a bad way, just helping to set expectations! Service was excellent. So we started with some lychee cocktails and a sparkling sake which were absolutely delicious! They have a nice selection of cocktails and sake. Then we got some soup dumplings--Gruyère& pork and the korubuta pork. The Gruyère was overpowering and you couldnt taste the pork. The sauce was also tasty, but did not taste like jeera. Would've been nice to have a stronger jeera taste if it's in the name. The crabby clam puffs were awesome. Basically like a crab Rangoon, but with a little more flavor. Very crispy! They came with a green dipping sauce that my friend described as sweet with a hint of black pepper. Finally, the kimchee pork mandoo was very flavorful and had a crispy top. Would definitely order again. We asked for some hot sauce, which we were charged $3 for and it wasn't spicy or even flavorful. Basically tasted like oil. Maybe the chili hadn't marinated properly yet. It was very disappointing since good chili oil is my favorite part of dumplings. The service was fantastic.
