We have been here twice in a few weeks because this is our new favorite Sushi restaurant…read more The restaurant is clean and has a simple style. The staff are very friendly. The amount of sushi you get compared to cost makes it very affordable. The plating is amazing as you can see in the photos. We opted for the combos which come with several pieces of sushi and some come with sashimi as well and rolls. The cuts of sushi were large and fresh. There was wasabi and ginger if you enjoy those. The rolls were creative and delicious. Our favorite was Ni Bistro roll followed by the Emerald. The sushi"wich" was very creative and looked like a sandwich. The Ni Bistro was full of flavor and had a lot of pieces. Overall, we highly recommend this new find on the Northwest side!

Surprisingly bad. I ordered the chicken and pineapple fried rice and a spicy tuna roll…read more Both were the worst I've had. The spicy tuna roll was especially strange - it had no flavor. I didn't know what I was eating. Eventually I could pick up some spiciness, but it was subtle. It was so bland and mushy, I wasn't even sure I was eating tuna. At one point I pulled a piece of the roll apart to take a closer look. I couldn't tell if it was tuna or not - I assume they use some kind of filler ingredients in addition to tuna (maybe that's normal for spicy tuna rolls, but they normally taste much better than this). The fried rice was the worst I've had, though still edible. The pineapple was strange in that it didn't taste like pineapple - I guess it wasn't ripe yet. So no pineapple flavor in the pineapple fried rice. Beyond that, the dish was bland. The unfortunate reality is that Tucson has low standards for Asian food, and shockingly bad places can stick around for years. Some of you remember Yokohama Rice Bowl, a local fast food chain, which was awful, and immediately displaced when Panda Express arrived, which is 10x better... It's too bad that Ni's isn't trying to do something great.

We began with ordering edemame and yellow tail nigiri to start. It was from the happy hour menu which was a great start to our meal. I also got their cocktail of the day, which was pretty refreshing. Keep in mind that HH is good until 6pm. We also ordered salmon roll, teriyaki noodles with either white rice and 2 buns to share. It was good enough for two people. Overall, food tasted great. Very fresh.

The pork gyoza was good, but it wasn't very warm. We each ordered ramen for our dinner. Mine the Oban and my friend the Original. The ramen was good, but mine tasted a little different than their Scottsdale/Phoenix locations. It wasn't as flavorful and as spicy as it normally is. This location is pretty small. Not a lot of tables, but they do have an outdoor patio and a large bar. Parking is a little bit of a nightmare due to the downtown location. I did park in the parking garage across the street, and I thought it was unusual they don't validate for parking. Overall, it was a fun time and our service was good.

This is not the type of restaurant where you need any more ambience than watching the food…read morepreparation a few feet from your table. After probably more than a dozen meals there, I've never been disappointed in the quality of the food or the service. It has a "no-nonsense" interior that suits the purpose just fine. I drive 17 miles each way to eat there if I'm not in the area for other reasons. I almost hesitate to recommend the place so it doesn't become popular to the point that seating becomes more of an issue. Smile here.

Old school Chinese diner. Not fancy, but def fast…read more Not sure if the economy is causing a drop in food quality or if there have been changes in recipes or cooks but it has been noticeable. The dish that used to be my go to was the ginger chicken, but the chicken quality is noticeably less tender, on the stringy side. So I switched to order other dishes like their tofu dishes or an occasional Mongolian meat dish. Again, the meat & sauce similarities (hard to tell them apart) are noticeable. It's still a decent place for a fast meal or easy takeout but I find myself looking elsewhere for Chinese food. Their fried rice was always basic, but now it's like it got hit with some soy sauce & little else Prices have gotten a bit higher (like they do :) though they're still cheaper than many) but quality has gone down a notch or more. Not saying I'll never be back, but it's not on my bi weekly dont wanna cook lets eat out rotation. Oh well.

First, I ordered the bao buns. You get three per order, and they were so good! I would probably consider them more of an appetizer, but honestly, I could make a meal out of them. The flavors were incredible, and the buns were soft, fluffy, and just plain satisfying. The star of the day ..... the pork belly chef's kiss. I also ordered sotteok sausage skewers with rice cakes (I think it could be something similar to rice cakes)it was AMAZING. The combination of the chewy rice cakes, savory sausage, and sauce was so flavorful and comforting. And then there was the kimchi. You guys... so good. I even had some leftover and used it the next day with my leftover sticky rice, and it was absolutely delicious. In fact, everything reheated really well. Sometimes takeout loses a little magic the next day, but not this meal. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the whole meal felt comforting, satisfying, and worth every penny. I already have a list of other menu items I want to try because if everything else is this good, I know I'm in for a treat. Bonchon definitely earned a repeat customer!

You can hear the crunch of these wings in outer space. It is out of the world crispy and flavorful! The wings are soooo good, the drumsticks are super juicy and delicious! The rice sausage appetizer is an amazing street food delicacy! Try it. If you want some amazing fried chicken or wings definitely stop by Bon chon and enjoy. You'll definitely love it, we will be back that's for sure.
