I would say one thing right off the bat I didn't like is that there are no automatic doors and the doors are heavy to whether which makes it really hard if you have a stroller or wheelchair. Was really shocked by this. Then, you can't bring any outside food and drink which I think is silly considering you have toddlers who snack nonstop and need water. Everything else though is really adorable and there is enough to do for a variety of age groups. Staff is friendly. Was a fun experience.

Right from the start, the experience was a bit mixed. The cashier we had wasn't very helpful and seemed more focused on rushing us through than answering any questions, which wasn't the best first impression. Once you get inside, it's honestly a bit of a free for all, almost like Hunger Games style. Lines were long everywhere, with everyone trying to get through activities like naming your own crayon, molding cars or rings, and other stations. It felt pretty unorganized. Some areas could definitely use more attention. The clay molding section was a complete mess, and the playground area with the slides and jungle gym was pretty chaotic. One activity I'd honestly skip is the drawing-to-puzzle station, people were cutting the line and bringing stacks of drawings. No one really needs 10 puzzles of their kid's artwork... two is plenty. That said, it's still a fun experience for kids and something different to do, especially on a rainy day. Overall, I'd say it's a good one time visit...

I would have loved to at least sit in a chair and enjoy the fountains with my toddler even though it was a cooler day -Train car closed because, according to an employee, the person driving it was exhausted and there was low attendance -No animals were out in the animal area They are very clear there are no return tickets or refunds. She was only able to do the carousel, walk through the Christmas village (which scared her-- see photo), take a weird truck ride where you see painted cutouts of animals rather than real ones, and see the 15-minute outdoor show. Staff could truly not have been nicer, but my feedback is for management-- the day felt poorly run with little regard for full-priced paying customers. My main feedback: They claimed to be understaffed waiting for international students, but if that is the case, I would have loved to know what was closed before paying to enter or be offered the opportunity to return on a day when I could justify the ticket price. If either of these had happened, I wouldn't be dissatisfied.

Upon arrival, we had to pay for parking via meters so make sure to download the parking app on your smartphones to save you the headache on feeding the meter at the lot. We purchased tickets online so we showed our receipt and got our printed tickets. Note to parents with little kids: hold onto the tickets as you'll need to show them later to the employees for the train ride and any activities. The train board on time. It was old, nothing fancy and nothing to sightsee but looking at the waters for few minutes and then into people's backyards which I'm sure homeowners find it creepy and annoying. Luckily with family, we chatted on the train but if I was alone, I'd rather watch wet paint dry. The corn maze activity was fun and was probably the only highlight of the trip. As you work through the maze, you'll be given clues to solve the mystery question and there's two mazes - a beginners and a more advanced level. When you purchase the maze activity, it includes both. After we finished the maze, we head back to train and then back to the parking lot. The full experience took about 4 hours.

But you don't have to care about snapping cute pics to appreciate that Fairy Tale Forest is an absolute wholesome delight for children and for adults to live their childhood nostalgia. There is a real magical forest feel as you wander through the park, which isn't large, but the life-size storybook cottages and fairy tale sets are beautifully detailed and lovingly restored. The grounds are clean and well-manicured (a sign says the gardens are curated by Raine Garden Designs). A list of daily events & activities are posted such as magic shows, live music, and character meet & greets. The staff and actors are all warm and friendly. My child loved running around and exploring, participating in the activities, but I enjoyed it just as much if not more. There are shaded picnic tables under umbrellas (next to the Bluebird Stage so you can catch a show while you eat). The food is from the on-site restaurant Fables, and is quite good, certainly better than your average amusement park fare (I was really happy to get a proper salad!). The restaurant is only open for private parties/events/rentals at the moment, but I'm told they hope to have it up and running at some point. The interior is also themed. There is a reasonably priced gift shop with a nice selection of toys, souvenirs, costumes, and gifts. I would say this park is suitable for younger kids, maybe up to 8 or even an unjaded 10yo (have your kids dress up as knights, wizards, princesses, and fairy tale characters!). It's also kind of a cool spot for a date. This is an "analog" park with some animatronics, and you shouldn't expect any dazzling razzmatazz or high-octane thrills. Six Flags it ain't. But come with the right mindset for the unique experience this is and you won't be disappointed. It's good ol' fashioned throwback family fun and brings back an era that doesn't exist anymore. Indeed, many NJ locals have fond memories of this park from when they were young. It was built in the 1950s by an industrious German dude and features scenes from Grimm's Fairytales that his mother used to read to the family, and was expanded with more set pieces over the next couple of decades. Unfortunately it closed down in 2003 and FINALLY reopened last year, after efforts were stalled during the pandemic. All I can say is goooo and visit this charming, singular, and uncorporatized attraction, and support a still founding family-owned local business. It's a complete joy!

There was a long line to get in at first, but I think that's mostly an opening rush situation. If you arrive just a little after opening, it would likely be much smoother. Definitely recommend buying tickets online ahead of time, since that's much easier than waiting at the kiosk. Once inside, there were a ton of rides for different ages. My son was able to ride many attractions by himself, which made it even more fun for him. I also have a two-year-old, and she was able to enjoy a few rides as well. Just something to note, adults do need a ticket too if you want to ride along with your child. What the hell, Nickelodeon sensing paydirt built an amusement park inside, so for a cool $100 day pass you can go crazy on a handful of rides, some of which may actually be working on any given day. Considering Nickelodeon the cable network has lost half their audience in the last five years and may be sold or shut down, the mall and their namesake park seem like a house of mirrors (or cards) running on borrowed time (or at least borrowed money.) Who would have thunk that the second largest Mall in the country in the age of Amazon and all things e-commerce would ever have issues... everyone except the numbskulls who financed this albatross. That's a ride and an adrenaline rush that I can certainly skip. Two stars.
