I hate that it took me forever to get to this re-review done, but my laptop was on hiatus and maybe…read morethat's a good thing because it has given me time to calm down and give a very through review. I feel like my first one was too rushed.
Official day of completion: March 11, 2013 (Official start date: January 9, 2013)
Yup, you are reading that right...over two months to complete the job! Although, the official completion of the bathroom was March 8, 2013, they still had trash and debris to clean up outside my house.
A bit of a time line:
- End of November 2012: we discussed with Margaret that we wanted to start the project. She suggest we start next year because the holidays were coming up. Honestly, I thought that was a lame excuse but we agreed to have our start date be January 7, 2013. We pay her for materials to be ordered.
- January 7, 2013: No phone call. No one shows up at our house. We call them and they tell us they haven't done the scheduling yet for the week. In my head, really?! What have you guys been doing for more than a month or why didn't you do the scheduling over the weekend? So, they call and tell us that someone will be at our house for demo on January 9, 2013.
- January 9, 2013: People show up and demo the bathroom. In my head, woohoo! Beautiful bathroom...full steam ahead! After a couple days of demo, they start prepping stuff for tiles and the half wall built to separate the shower and toilet. (I think this is a cool feature about the bathroom - the half wall.)
- During this time there are times when things weren't ordered and so that meant no one was installing anything in the bathroom. We did our part when they asked us to order our shower kit and fixtures (lighting, towels bars, etc.) since they were installing it for us but they sat in our garage until they needed to be installed.
Does Yelp help? Yes, it does because there are businesses that rely on customer feed back, and trust me...we were not happy! Due to my first review, this company reacted in a way I wasn't expecting. My mom had to deal with so much of their crap and now they wanted to talk to me. Why? Because of my original review. After knocking off about $1000 off my mom's remaining balance due, they wanted me to take down my review. When my mom told me this, I was furious. They still weren't even done with the job yet. The nerve of these people!
My mom was mad again with all the miss communication and materials not being ordered in a timely manner because we lost practically several weeks with no one working on our bathroom. This is what led me to rewrite this review. My mom refused the discount and wanted to pay the full remaining balance to show them that we could not be bought. Yup, take that! (Asking me to take down my review?! Shame on you!)
Margaret, is a designer! (She probably gets paid commission too.) She acted as though she would be there from A to Z with our project but she was gone no sooner after they started our job. The original project manager on our job for some reason left and our job had no project manager for awhile. We had to call the office many times never knowing if anyone would ever work on our job. Telling us they would call us back and never calling us at times. I felt really sorry for the project manager who was finally given our job. He was very nice but he couldn't do anything but be very apologetic in our circumstance.
Again, they can have the ONE star for the beautiful bathroom that we have but at the cost of time and all the headaches, it wasn't worth it. Go somewhere else! Their showroom is truly all a front. None of the customer satisfaction letters on their walls are recent. Who knows...they might be fake! But it's such a shame that ANY company would stoop that low.
Note: I realized there is a folder on their business page here on Yelp for filtered reviews. Now I can see why! Some of the filtered reviews are considered fake to Yelp and that is why you will not see it here, but you can still view them if you want. You will see mine because I'm not a fake person. I'm real! If you want to ask me anything about my experience or see pictures of my bathroom, just ask me.
