They tried to sell a car with obvious and significant water damage and put back together with junk yard parts.

So, so, so happy with the service at Acton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Recently my Jeep Grand…read moreCherokee has had a "Service Air Suspension" message come up on the dash. After reading through online Jeep forums, I was concerned that the dealership was going to recommend thousands of dollars in replacements for the compressor, distribution module, shocks, etc. To be honest, I had prepared myself for that possibility - and since this Jeep is my daily driver, I would have had to shell out the bucks, had they asked. My Service Advisor, Bart, was phenomenal. Courteous, friendly, honest - all the things you'd want. It turns out the problem was a simple control module that needed replacement and programming. The service was performed in under an hour, and my Jeep is driving like the day I pulled off the lot. ACDJR didn't try and upsell me on any unnecessary parts or services. They took care of the problem I came in with, and that was it. Some dealerships prey on peoples fears... these consummate professionals did none of that. I am so thankful for the way I was treated as a customer, and that will reflect in my patronage of this service department, for as long as I own my Jeep. Thank you Bart (and my technician Randall Partridge) for a fair, honest assessment of the problem, the speed at which the work was completed, and the confidence of a trusted partner for my future mechanical needs.

Extremely Concerning Service and Diagnostic Practices…read more I am writing this review to document a highly unsatisfactory and costly experience with Acton McGovern Jeep regarding my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon (120,000 miles, consistently and meticulously maintained). In early November, I brought the vehicle in for diagnosis of a P0420 code. The dealership charged a $365 diagnostic fee, replaced an ignition coil (another $500), and reported that the engine checked out clean. The code was cleared, and I was told the issue was resolved. Within five days, the vehicle began misfiring, and a subsequent inspection revealed crosshatching in a cylinder and catastrophic, irreparable engine damage, due to coolant leaking through the head gasket and into the cylinder. Damage of this magnitude does not develop spontaneously in that timeframe, raising serious concerns that the initial diagnosis either missed or failed to investigate underlying causes. I was then without a functioning vehicle for four months due to the engine being on national backorder. No loaner vehicle or compensation of any kind was offered during this extended period. During the repair process, the assigned technician (Jeff) ordered over $2,000 in additional parts without my authorization. Only after elevating the matter to the service manager was I able to limit my payment to the originally quoted $12,000. It is troubling that such a significant unauthorized expense was initiated without consultation. Most concerning, after the engine replacement was completed, the original P0420 code reappeared--the same issue that prompted my initial visit. This strongly suggests that the dealership never addressed the underlying problem from the beginning, calling into question both the accuracy and thoroughness of their diagnostic procedures. The sequence of events points to negligence, which may have directly contributed to the engine failure and the resulting financial burden. Throughout this process, interactions with both Jeff (service technician) and Chris (service manager) were marked by dismissive, argumentative, and evasive communication, with consistent avoidance of accountability or clear explanations. In summary, my experience with Acton McGovern Jeep involved: * An initial diagnosis that failed to identify or investigate root causes * A catastrophic engine failure shortly after their service * Four months without a vehicle and no support * Unauthorized ordering of over $2,000 in extra parts * A final repair that still did not resolve the original issue Given the severity of the consequences and the lack of professionalism demonstrated, I cannot recommend this dealership.
