Had a head gasket that was starting to leak as well as some front end issues... He didn't know I used to be a mechanic... So glad I did not buy the truck can you imagine breaking down on the way from New Hampshire to Florida in the middle of New York City or maybe in the middle of the South and the heat? This is why I do not shop at used car dealers ever this will be the last time as well there's no difference between them and a pawn shop except the pawn shop might be more honest... I took a 93 mile trip from RI to Leavitt Auto & Truck on January 9 to look at a 2018 F150 Tuscany FTX 5.0. Buying a truck was something I had been saving and striving toward for some time. I took the truck on a test drive and it had issues with stalling out and sputtering. I went to leave, but Leavitt repeatedly ask that I go "waste some time" in the area while they looked over the truck. A few hours later I was able to complete a brief but uneventful test drive. An agreement was reached that Leavitt would find the root cause of the issues and make repairs that would permanently resolve them as a condition of purchase. I agreed to trade in my faithful and fully operational FJ cruiser as part of the deal. I took delivery of the truck two weeks later, Leavitt stated they replaced the VCT solenoids that were the cause of the issues on the test drive. Within a few days, on my second or third drive in the truck, it was throwing misfire codes on two cylinders and running rough with the check engine light illuminated. I completed an entire tune up on the truck on my own dime. Leavitt states that their vehicles come fully serviced, but considering I was pulling factory spark plugs out of the motor and the air filter was a disaster, it was clear this wasn't the case. The tune up did not resolve the issues and the truck would not pass inspection with the check engine light on. When I initially brought this to Leavitt's attention, Bob told me to go "wiggle some wires." I called Leavitt again and they agreed to bring the truck back for review. They refused to tow it up so I had to drive it while it was misfiring. I suspected that the direct injectors were leaking, causing the misfire, and Leavitt confirmed this. They stated they would only replace the two that were on the cylinders throwing codes, so I spent $900 on parts for them to replace the other 6 as well. They had the truck for two weeks, put 300 miles on it, and returned it to me telling me it was all set. During this time they put me in a barely holding together, saturated with cigarette smoke loaner car that didn't even have fabric on the seats. It was disgusting. Within a few days the truck again was throwing sporadic check engine lights and codes for knock sensors, low voltage, and other issues. I brought this to Leavitt's attention and they were dismissive. A few days later, at the beginning of March, I went to start the truck and something failed catastrophically. I heard something metal break in the motor. The engine would barely run, it threw codes for almost every cylinder on the driver's side, and it was inoperable. I called Leavitt and told them what was going on, and what I got from Mike was a combination of "we can't stand by the vehicle after this long" and "one of my mechanics walked off the job, and we have a backlog of work, so we wouldn't be able to help you anyway." I explained to Mike that it had barely been 9 weeks since I signed papers, the truck had barely accrued 900 miles since I signed, and 3 of those weeks and 300 of those miles the truck was with them. He again told me he "couldn't stand by the truck after this long" and to "use the warranty we sold you" and hung up on me. I had the truck towed to Tasca Ford in RI. They tore into the motor and found that the timing components had failed, leading to a timing chain breakage which resulted in a valve hitting a piston and bending along with metal in the bottom end of the motor and oil pan. The bottom line is the truck needs an entire new motor. I am now stuck hoping the shady warranty that Leavitt sold me will honor the Liberty Shield bumper to bumper coverage and get me a new motor, and they're already making it difficult for Tasca. Leavitt does not care about you once they have your money. Their vehicles do NOT come fully serviced, and it is obvious they're just flipping garbage they pick up at auctions or in trade. They do not stand by their vehicles and should not be trusted. I wouldn't buy Girl Scout Cookies from them at this point. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! read more

They sold my son a Audi that "went through there shop" and put a nh inspection sticker on it, and a 20 day plate. 3000 miles later there were 30 plus codes, no way that could have been from 3000 miles of driving. Their response was there was nothing they can do. He spent thousands and the car is now dead. Do not walk into this place unless you want to lose money, and want to experience pure evil. My kid 18 year old has a new born, these scumbags absolutely lied straight to his face, all they care about is profit. Zero care for the human race. They sold an unsafe vehicle with a Nh inspection sticker, how they are in business I don't know. I was weary especially about a German car, but I thought and said if it's from a dealer they can't lie. Well that's a giant pile of bs. They lied and now we're stuck, but at least I have the power of yelp, those giant piles of vile scum actually took his trade knowing it was not signed by me the owner. This is a bad business and they deserve the absolute worst fate. Stay away, I beg you stay away. I wish I could put a negative number but that's not an option. "WE SELL AT FULL RETAIL VALUE ACCORDING TO NADA" JESSE 4/19/19 We were working with Dean who is off today on a truck for our daughter, so today we had to deal with Jesse. We took the truck to our Mechanic and came back to do the deal. Jesse asked us were we wanted to be, we let him know the Truck was over priced for year and mileage. Jesse went into how "At Leavitts we always sell at Full Retail Value according to NADA, we have a great warranty and that's why we do that". Jesse then was quoting us 26k which was the "wrong" vehicle. Jesse then ran the NADA Value of the Truck we wanted to purchase and the Trucks FULL RETAIL VALUE WAS $17556.00 We offered FULL RETAIL VALUE, "Leavitts Philosophy & Motto per Jesse", then the song and dance came..... We offered 18K almost $500 over full retail and Jesse said " We are WAY below where we need to be".. It was so interesting to watch someone get caught lying to our faces, very dishonest business practice! HMMM Jesse what happened to your bloviating about the Leavitts Way and selling at Full Retail Value?? As a consumer, Business Owner and a Parent I would NOT deal with Leavitts after this experience, lying to customers does not go over well and build business. "We sell all our vehicles at retail value based on NADA" I've been working on a deal for a vehicle, took it to my mechanic. Sat with Jesse, not Dean, who was trying to sell the truck above retail value even though they pride themselves on selling at retail value. I proceeded to tell Jesse the retail value of the vehicle I was looking at was less than the price advertised WAY UNDER ADVERTISED PRICE OF 21,000+ When I asked Jesse what he saw for the retail value and he stated, "I see it's $17,523+-" I offered Jesse the full retail value as he had just stated they sell vehicles at, he declined the offer. Then I proceeded to offer him $500 more than the full retail value, and he declined the offer and said we were "way off from where they need to be with the truck" SO I GUESS AT LEAVITT YOU CANT TRUST WHAT FULL RETAIL VALUE IS ON NADA... and they DO NOT stand by what they say! Purchased a vehicle under the condition that certain repairs be completed before delivery. When I took delivery of the truck, none of the repairs were completed and the vehicle failed inspection. They agreed to address the repairs.... AGAIN and even provided me with a loaner to drive (the loaner was another vehicle that was listed for sale on their website that had its own set of issues.) After a week of without my vehicle. It was returned to me without any documentation that the repairs were completed. It did pass re-inspection but for 3 weeks I have contacted the salesman asking for him to email me an invoice or repair order and have yet to receive it. This was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. Would of been one-star rating but they did EVENTUALLY take care of those original issues and the truck passed inspection. Between their overpriced and disrepaired inventory, and their empty promises. I will never return to or recommend this establishment. Also be aware of their laughable 30 day warranty. It only covers 50% of the cost of repairs and all repairs have to be completed by them!!! Which means that 50% cost can be whatever they want it to be!!! I recently contacted Leavitt Auto regarding a prospective vehicle I had my eye on. Specifically, I was looking into purchasing a newish BMW M40i which Leavitt's did not have in their inventory. I was connected with Dean B. who kindly sat with me for hours researching my options. He found a beautiful, low mileage 2018 BMW located in Tennesse. Dean explained that the dealership could purchase the vehicle for me and have it shipped up to Plaistow within days. If I didn't love it, he would send it back. I agreed into having the car delivered and within 2 days it was in Plaistow. I saw that the car was delivered in an enclosed trailer which was a huge relief as there was extreme weather coming up the coast at the time and I was worried about possible damage. The car is literally perfect. The entire process from start to finish with Leavitt Auto, and in particular with Dean, was super professional, honest and easy. I am sending everyone I know and love to this dealership knowing they will experience the same great customer service that I did. read more

Lacks integrity. Tried to call the owner about an issue/deal that went obviously bad and was treated with the utmost disrespect. He couldn't have cared less about what the issue was but made it clear all he does for the community. / what matters is the way you treat people when things go wrong! Yes things happen, but it's what you do and the way you treat people to make it right that counts in this business. My boat was left there on consignment for sale and was damaged while in their care and when we went to pick it up all the wires had been cut on the boat trailer. I was told it was my fault for leaving it on their property, no concern at all that this could have caused serious injury or death as a result. This was done no doubt in retaliation of me being upset about the damage done to my boat while there. Yes I was indeed upset about the boat being damaged,who wouldn't be, but I was NOT asking for them to pay for that. The cutting of the trailer wires was just morally wrong on many levels though- I am sure there are cameras there and the lack of cooperation from the owner spoke for itself! Might be a great guy when things go right,who isn't? But don't ask him to do the right thing when things go wrong or you'll see a very different person! read more
