Nice I came in when my passenger door had water sloshing around and Paul showed me how to solve the problem.

I am writing this review after concluding my purchase of a Range Rover Evoque at Herb Chambers in…read moreSudbury. Let me first start with some context. We have bought a number of luxury vehicles including BMWs, Range Rovers and Porsches across a number of dealers in the US and internationally. In addition to this context, I recently moved to the US and while my credit score is excellent, I have limited history which could have been a problem financing a vehicle in the US...until I walked into Land Rover of Sudbury! We were moving from NYC to Boston and therefore needed to buy a car. We initially went to a Land Rover in Manhattan who were only interested in taking my deposit. They were not knowledgeable about the car, and when they did get my financing, got it for me at 11% with a requirement of 50% down! They also took over a week to refund my deposit but that is another story for another day. I decided to try and get the Range Rover Evoque in Boston, given it was probably easier to register. I looked up Land Rover in Sudbury and gave them a call - Anthony Carbone picked up. I told him I was about to make the trip from NYC to Boston, but that I needed to finance the car and had limited credit history. He was upfront about the risks but assured me he would do his best to get a good deal. I landed at the dealership on a Saturday at 11am - Anthony and Bobby greeted me, and introduced me to Rusty who would take me through the sales process. Rusty immediately asked me if I wanted to go for a test drive, and we were off for a 6 mile drive around Sudbury. He was quiet, and not pushy letting the car sell itself. He was on point with any questions I had. He then asked me what trim I was interested in, when I said Prestige; he drove 10 minutes away to the back lot to pull out a brand new Prestige (still in its white shipping wrapping). He took off the wrapping but I didn't like the color. He then asked patiently if I wanted to see anything else. The Evoque on the showroom floor caught my attention and I asked if it was for sale - it was, and we immediately got down to numbers. Rusty provided me with payment plan options and after a bit of back and forth we starting calling the banks. That is where Anthony and his magic came in! He spent a little over an hour calling the banks, keeping all my limitations in mind, and only came out of his office when he had a positive result...and positive it was. He was able to get me a rate of ~2% with a structure very much under a monthly payment I was comfortable with. I agreed, we processed the papers and in a matter of 4 hours I was out the door with the deal done. I asked if I could pick up the car the following week, and knowing it was our 5th year anniversary and a gift for my wife, they dressed up the Evoque with a red bow for collection! Over the week I inundated both Rusty and Anthony with a number of questions and every time they were super quick to respond. This experience has been BY FAR ...THE BEST car purchasing experience I have ever experienced. I will only buy Range Rovers while we live in Boston (unless Anthony moves to another brand) because dealing with this dealership was exceptional. Given my limited credit history they were able to put us in a car of our choice with no car sales BS, the industry is known for and plagued with. In fact, I am so ecstatic with my experience that I am including my personal email address and encourage anyone who is thinking about dealing with Land Rover of Sudbury to reach out if they have any specific questions about the Range Rover Evoque or the dealership It is for these reasons and so much more I have them rated exceptionally high. We originally brough our vehicle into service 3-4 weeks ago as the power steering was not working…read more The day before it had malfunctioned during a rainstorm. The technician couldn't diagnose the issue as the power steering started working again. We then did additional repairs to the vehicle (tires, etc.) that cost approximately $5,000. The vehicle ran fine for the next 3-4 weeks until the heavy rainstorm on July 7th at which time the vehicle lost power steering while driving at 70mph on the highway. We contacted service and was able to drive the vehicle to Sudbury on July 9th. The only thing that was wrong with the vehicle at that time it was dropped off was the power steering. The dash illuminated the following message "Ok to drive with caution Power steering assistance reduced" My research online shows that the 2019 Land Rover Velar had experienced a known documented vulnerability. The driving rainstorm waterlogged the internal circuit board of the electric power assistance steering (EPAS) rack. The front sensors and steering rack are both mounted extremely low to the ground. There have been numerous lawsuits, class action suits for certain model years in the UK. I brought this to the tech and they discounted; no video of the damage was sent to us unlike every other prior visit for service. The tech then sent an estimate for 10k to fix stating there was a crack. We asked for video, tech on 7/10 at 2:52pm texted steering gear is crack, video did not send apologies. I asked if the crack possibly got water inside causing the failure, response "that could be the case". Again, asked for video, was told on Saturday at 7:05AM that we could get a video to me on Monday. Was asking the tech if possibly something caused the crack (hitting a pothole, etc.) no reply. I was continued to be directed to JLR North America to see if they could offer any assistance. Great customer service for someone who has been loyal to bringing the vehicle for all service to Land Rover Sudbury, plus the prior vehicle was a Range Rover Sport which I serviced at your establishment. Monday morning heard from Alex in Sales, offered $1,500 for trade-in against a new Velar. At 1:30PM texted service again, still no video showing issue. Reply, tech is out today so I will not be able to get you another video. Advised Alex that we were going to go in another direction and advised service that I would be in to pick up vehicle. Showed up at 5:20pm to pickup vehicle, my service tech was gone for the evening. The tech that helped me called for the car to be pulled up, I asked if I needed to sign any paperwork and was told no you are all set. No explanation of what was done to the vehicle, what was found, etc. The vehicle was not brough up and I had to go down to the back of the lot to pick it up. Remind you the only light on at the dash when this vehicle was dropped off for service was the power stering, Started the vehicle and the following lights came on the dashboard "2 wheel drive only, traction reduced" "Ok to drive with caution stability control not available" "Intelligent emergency braking system not available" "Ok to drive with caution Autonomus Emergency braking not available" "Cruise control deactivated" "Stop Safely Brake System fault detected" "Airbag default light on" "spedomter didn't work" Plenty of pictures if you would like me to send along. Difficult to explain and luckily didn't have an issue getting the vehicle where it had to go. My attempt to get some help with the issue was unsuccessful and very frustrating

The warranty associate for the dealership feeds you lies about being able to use the warranty for the tiniest scratch or whenever you want something replaced, absolute lies! You have to jump through hoops to use any warranty there and the service is always booked out a long time once you mention you are using warranty. The entire service department especially the "advisor" is the largest group of incompetent and lazy individuals I have ever had the unfortunate experience of dealing with. They have no idea what the warranties they are selling cover and give out false information constantly. I literally had to print and highlight my warranty and circle it for them to realize my key replacement was covered for lost or stolen keys. Literally incompetent and if you have already spent the money on the warranties they have zero interest in helping you and just tell you to go somewhere else. I love my car but will never ever deal with them again! Herb Chambers in Boston is fantastic and will go out of their way to help you! The sales department is very knowledgeable and hard working to find you the exact car you want if they don't have it in stock, but their stock is very large and very, very impressive. The service department is an excellent extension of the sales department and have the same work ethic, knowledge and customer service. I am buying any future car there and I highly recommend it! Benjamin from service and Drew from sales I have personally dealt with and went above and beyond for me! The entire staff is fabulous also! So if you want a Jaguar/Land Rover dealership go to Boston NOT SUDBURY!

Top end vehicles, less than impressive service. I bought a…read morepreviously owned vehicle here. The dealership is nice inside, if you have to wait in the service area there is a tv, snacks, water and plenty of seating. If you purchase a car here, be prepared to be only one looking out for details and accuracy. Here are some examples which I encountered in the purchase of my car. When negotiating the price, we asked to confirm there were 2 key fobs (these are expensive to replace) and also noted we would have to purchase all season tires as the ones currently on the car were summer/performance tires and those would not be ideal for winters in the NE. We were told absolutely there were 2 fobs and the dealer would be very surprised if the car did not already have all season tires. We requested another inspection of the car, which confirmed it did not have all season tires so we will have to purchase a set. This dealer, as is customary with many car dealerships, lowballed my trade in and was very aggressive in trying to sell extras (tire maintenance, key fob replacement, paint shield, etc). We agreed on the final numbers and turned down the extras. When we were ready to drive away with the car, we requested the second fob when it was not offered. The dealership could not find it, so we have another expense of purchasing a second fob. A few days went by after the purchase, and we still had not seen the registration in the mail. This dealer has onsite registration capabilities, which is handy, however, when we did not receive it after a few days, we called the dealership. Turns out they forgot to have us sign the new car title, so the paperwork just sat there with no proactive reach out. As the car cannot be inspected without the registration, the dealer agreed to send a driver out the next day by noon, with the title for us to sign. When 1PM rolled by and no one arrived, we called, and learned the person they were thinking of sending called in sick, and did we still want someone to come out? So once again a call from us was required to get the ball rolling. We ultimately got a photo of the registration while we were waiting for the official version in the mail, and in the meantime the dealer called asking us if we dropped off the second key with our trade in. We confirmed we left the dealership with 2 fobs the day we traded it in. We also learned from the previous owner of our newly purchased car, there was a remote related to the exhaust he left with the dealer when he traded it in. We called the dealer and learned they forgot to give it to us, along with a check to cover the registration fee. Ultimately the remote and check arrived, as did the final registration, but this dealer's lack of process and follow up for such a high end, well known, car dealership was surprising and frustrating.

I left voicemails, messages with receptionist, texted service advisor (Fady) and never heard back. I had to drive down to the dealership (btw - they provided no alternative transportation like all the other dealerships) to actually speak to the service advisor. I'm done. They have literally done nothing to my car in 2.5 weeks. They are down to one Alfa technician so would recommend anyone stay away from this dealership and brand. I know I'm done based on this experience. Goes to show you there's a reason they call it "service" ... if you provide a good customer experience, even if you don't resolve a problem, it at least shows that you care about you customers. Hard to believe this is the same service department and advisors that support Lamborghini/Bentley/Maserati - they should be ashamed of themselves.

Since the dealership is about 100 miles away, I asked about transportation options. The representative I spoke with, Amanda, offered to check with management to see if a complimentary pickup was possible and would get back to me by the end of the day. I did not receive a return call. Over the next several days, I left multiple messages and made follow-up calls. When I reached her again, she did not remember our previous conversation at first, and after I refreshed her memory, she said the vehicle was too old for a courtesy pickup. I then asked for a quote for a paid pickup service. She told me she would speak with management and call me back that day. Again, I received no call. I made one more attempt and left another message, but as of today, I still have not received a return call. I am disappointed with the lack of follow-through and communication, especially given the expectations that typically accompany the Rolls-Royce name. I hope the dealership will review this experience and improve responsiveness for future customers. Update December 8, 2025: I received a follow-up call from the service manager after posting my review, and I appreciate that he took the time to reach out. He explained that the department had been short-staffed due to his attendance at a manufacturer conference. On my initial call, Amanda did mention that she needed to speak with management before giving me an answer, and I appreciated that transparency. The concern was not that she needed guidance; it was that she assured me she would call back the same day, and no call ever came. After several additional attempts on my part, I still received no follow-up. While I appreciate the courtesy of the manager's call, the explanation did not fully resolve the underlying issue. Even if short-staffed, a quick message acknowledging the delay or letting me know a decision would have to wait until management returned would have set clear expectations. Instead, the lack of communication over several days made the process more difficult than it needed to be. The follow-up call did confirm that the challenge was not simply workload but a breakdown in communication and follow-through. I hope this feedback helps the department strengthen those areas going forward. At this time, I believe my original rating remains accurate based on the full experience.
