When my Mom went in to pick it up, she was told it wasn't ready because of the car show, and that her dress would now be ready yesterday 8/17. Guess what?! My Mom went to pick it up the morning of 8/17, and IT STILL WAS NOT READY! The dumb lady now told her that she could comeback between 3 and 4pm. My mom went back at 3:30, and it was finally finished. My Mom didn't need anything done to the dress except to shorten it. Nothing else. It should not have taken as long as it did. Promises mean nothing at Silvia's Alterations. This place is a joke, and the work isn't even that great. She didn't even knock a few bucks off the $100 charge for the inconvenience. Beyond horrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and take your items elsewhere.

She was quick and responsive when I called to schedule my first fitting. The first fitting went perfect, she was super helpful and made some recommendations to make the dress easier to bustle/ wear throughout the wedding. We scheduled the second fitting for about a month which was like amazing turn around! When I arrived to the second appointment she was not there. I stood in the drizzle for 15 minutes and called like 3 times before giving up. I called multiple times the next few days and never heard back (super anxiety enduring for a bride)! My (now) husband ended up stopping by her shop during regular business hours and managed to get her to call me back. Turns out there had been some mishaps with her keys and she locked herself out of her store. We were able to schedule the 2nd fitting and everything went well. I did loose a little weight though and she recommended coming in a week or so before the wedding for final alterations in case I lost more or fluctuated again. I called to schedule something about 10 days before the wedding and she was shocked, saying it was not a lot of time but she would do it. She ended up turning it around in a weekend and the dress fit perfect! Her quality is fantastic, but communication wasn't my favorite. Generally cost was about what I expected for the area and luckily I got my dress on a fat discount so I had the wiggle room. I don't think my experience was the worst case scenario and probably not the typical - overall I would recommend but maybe only planning your appointments during her normal open hours!

I received a call today from the owner asking me to take down my review because it was misleading. I was stunned. Original review - I'm leaving three stars because the dry cleaning is great. The reason I am writing this review is to warn people to not take alterations here. I thought this would be a one stop shop, but they completely ruined my satin skirt. I took it in with the request of a small hole repair, and the person who did the sewing completely ruined it. I am attaching photos of the before and after. I intend to talk to the owner this evening to see what they can do. I truly cannot believe how bad it turned out. I could have done a better job myself.
