    Mexican hot chocolate
    Danny N.

It's like an expensive Mexican Denny's experience. The food is aight and reminds me of Denny's or Norm's or IHOP. I might even prefer IHOP to this. I got the Mexican omelette. Nothing crazy although it looked really good. Tried some of my friend's French toast. It's definitely one of the French toasts I've had. I also got the Mexican hot chocolate. It was pretty decent! Overall okay experience. Should be cheaper though otherwise might as well go to one of the other three restaurants I listed.

Side of fries for my daughter

I gave my husband 4 places to pick for brunch. He picked this one because of the Mexican items on the menu. His go to for brunch is breakfast burritos. Restaurant is located in a busy shopping center next to Great Wolf Lodge. We were greeted right away and asked of we wanted inside or outside. We choose inside. We were lead to the booth side, which had about 6 booths. 4 of them were already occupied. I guess they close the other half of the restaurant around 1pm since they close early. I ordered the eggs benedict with country potatoes and side of sourdough toast. My daughter got a side of bacon and a side of fries. Husband got the Gran burrito with avocado. Food took a long time to come out. It all looked ok. Taste was a different story. My daughter's bacon was too greasy. She ate 1 strip. My husband ate 1 of other other strip and said it tasted like it sat in grease then plated and served. Her fries were ok. My husband didn't like his burrito. He said it tasted weird. Not sure how to describe it, but he did not like it. My benedict was bland and sweet at the same time. I don't even know how that's possible. I was squirtijg Ketchup everywhere to get some flavor. Overall, would not come back. Staff was attentive and nice.

    Kids plate, loved the Mickey.

Food was great, service was on point and coffee was delicious. Not a fan of the small coffee cup. A standard size would be great so you're not constantly waiting on a refill. I did go with my daughter and 5 grandsons 2 were babies and the others kids. Not sure how I feel about the automatic 18%

    Chilaquiles with Carne Asada

I highly recommend the chilaquiles! Slightly spicy but not bad (I can't handle spice too well). It was so delicious and authentic food. Service was fast and not too loud on the inside. I would definitely come back.

Flavorful, crunchy yet very saucy chilaquiles. These are my favorite green chilaquiles. I've tried chilaquiles at other places plenty of times but hands down these are my favorite ones. I always add the steak. Mexican mocha latte is delicious. Not too sweet nor bitter. And it's always great to pair my meals with their aguas frescas. Pineapple Spinach or their Strawberry one. You can't go wrong. Again I love how they aren't super sweet. I've been coming to S & J Grand Cafe since it open. They got themselves a loyal customer. Specially because their service is also very kind.

I visit this establishment about once a month, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, we were seated by two staff members and then waited approximately 10 minutes to order drinks, followed by another 20 minutes to place our food order, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. After ordering, we waited an additional 30 minutes for our food. During this time, a family with children who arrived after us received their meals before we did. This level of service is unacceptable and does not meet the standard expected from a regularly visited business. Management should address staff attentiveness, order prioritization, and overall service efficiency. Without improvements in these areas, it will be difficult to continue supporting this establishment

    Hot Mexican Mocha
    Nancy T.

Food cleanliness and service was a miss. Came in to try this restaurant sit-down today and ordered a Mexican mocha. Came out looking great but the other side had spilled over the edge. The worker said he'd come back to clean it even though I really didn't mind. But he then came back with a DIRTY rag that smelled awful like bleach and then proceeded to wipe my cup where I'd be putting my mouth on. We were too stunned. I told him "it's okay, I'm good", and we then asked for napkins because we didn't even have any. The drink itself was good, but still the lingering smell of a dirty rag on the cup was not. Luckily we wiped it down further with more napkins. When our food came out, no knives were brought out. I got a simple waffle and my bf got eggs benny. I asked for knives and he only brought out one knife and handed it to me. I didn't even bother to ask for another because at that point we were kind of annoyed. Also the pricing is really strange. At first glance most of the dishes seemed very decently priced, but my singular plain waffle (normal waffle size) with no toppings was $11 and the plate of 2 eggs benny and potatoes was $15. Sadly we will not be returning due to this experience, especially due to the fact that we don't know how else they handle the food.

Chilaquiles with Carne Asada & Spinach and Pineapple Aguas Frescas
    Earlene C.

Loved the menu selections. Opted for the Carne Asada Chilaquiles washed down with a Spinach Pineapple Agua Fresca. The Agua Fresca was so delicious! The food however was too salty. Everyone at our table said what they ordered was super salty as well. Maybe it was an off day. I'll come and try again!

Red chilaquiles with carne asada and a cafe de olla
    Nohemi D.

I love the red chilaquiles so much that when my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday breakfast I said S&J. The red chilaquiles with a cafe de olla is top notch!! We've been coming here for over 5 years

    Chilaquiles with carne asada
    Alice T.

Came here after a 5K fun run to eat breakfast around 10am, and the restaurants only had 4 other parties dining. Got the chilaquiles with carne asada. The chilaquiles itself is fine, but the carne asada was super salty as hell. I only got the carne asada because it was about $4-5 more than just the chilaquiles alone, which seemed like a good deal. Just don't get the carne asada. Giving them a four stars because the service is good and they were attentive.

Woah - hold the brakes!! This place was amazing!! From out of town- stopped in for brunch after competing at the Hyrox! This place is...Authentic! Delicious! Amazing ambiance! Hostess were friendly. Waitress was super attentive and took care of 6+ of us. I highly recommend checking this place out!

I loved the food & atmosphere. The general vibe was very family friendly and local. I loved the service provided, as, the staff where very friendly. The kind young man "Francisco" was especially helpful. I ordered the French toast and bacon, with a cup of hot chocolate, and I left feeling stuffed. They operate without a proper seating chart, and staff appear to all float around, popping up wherever they are needed

    1. The waffles had crispy skins with a soft inside! The bacons were long and crispy! The torta was loaded with lots of goodness! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! 3. There are indoor and outdoor seatings! 4. The staff were friendly and timely with our order! 5. Parking lot is huge and easy to find parking! Note: There is a single customer restroom on the left side of the restaurant! Photo: Iced Vanilla Latte, Waffle, 2 Eggs, and Bacon, Iced Zapata Latte Cacahute, Cubana Torta

Parking can be in the plaza they're located in or on the side streets of where you turned in. We came in on a Sunday morning and waited to be seated. I noticed a slow trickle of people coming in, eventually, filling every table. It was an easy, simple Sunday morning. The energy of the restaurant was very relaxed and not stressful at all. The tables and chairs are fairly old and well used. Our server had little to no words for us, which was fine. She gave us a kind look. We had ordered a breakfast burritos, eggs, bacon, coffees all around, and an omelette. The food came out a few minutes later. Very quick, but hot and crisp. I wasn't a fan of my latte and their house coffee was a bit watery. I did enjoy my breakfast burrito and bacon. My dad enjoyed his breakfast platter, too. My fiancé's omelette was okay and wasn't fantastic. We finished our meal rather quickly and left. It's nice to have a local breakfast restaurant that has been well loved by the neighboring residents. Definitely will be back again.
