We had the ribeye, which was so unbelievably juicy and tender and flavorful, we got short rib and chicken and the spicy rigatoni! We ordered two orders of the country bread because one order is never going to be enough! We got the brussels sprouts we got the cheesecake. I am just so disappointed that I did not order multiples of the short rib to go because let me tell you even Gordon Ramsey cannot do a short rib like Bosscat. There, I said it. What a great brunch spot in Orange! Our server, Monica, was fantastic and kept our ice tea refills going. We arrived around 11am and the restaurant does have indoor courtyard seating which allows pets so we brought our dog. The menu was a neat throwback too with pricing that reflected all brunch items under $20 and Bloody Mary's for $5. The only thing that they could improve would be the outdoor chairs, some padding would go a long way to make the chairs more comfortable and improve the overall experience. The short-rib grilled cheese is pure comfort food. The place is some kind of converted warehouse / packing house so you have an industrial environment but it's comfortable seating with high ceilings. First time dining here and loved the food, service, and ambiance. The front outdoor dining area is converted from the original gas station and drive through market. The corner covered location has wide open windows, with a beautiful breeze. Our server has worked here for 2 years and shared the origin of the name Bosscat came from a former worker who affectionately called the owner Miss Bosscat so when they ventured to open a new restaurant he insisted it only made sense to name it Bosscat after her. I went to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations years ago, and I think some of the menu items have changed since then. I still love the decor, there are a lot of unique and interesting items throughout the restaurant. I decided to have a cocktail with dinner since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I ordered the Blood Orange Paloma and my husband had a tequila soda. Given the libations name, I expected the cocktails would be especially delicious and creative, but I was disappointed in both the taste and presentation. My drink tasted more like a regular paloma, and I didn't pick up a blood orange taste. It was topped with a fresh lime, and I think the grapefruit soda overpowered the drink. They also had two tequila blanco options: lalo and espolon. Our favorite item for the night was the burger smashies appetizer. They are three mini smash burgers, with pickles on the side, and they provide mustard and ketchup when you ask. I had the spicy rigatoni and my husband ordered the pan seared salmon. I thought my pasta was good and I liked the ricotta. My husband liked his salmon and he said the greens on the side were delicious. The charred lemon also gave the salmon a nice flavor. Service felt a little mixed during our visit. There were a couple of moments where the waitress came across as a bit sarcastic, though I'm not totally sure if I was reading it right. I think she may have overheard me mention to my husband that I didn't love my drink. When she came to check on it, I said it was fine. I don't really send drinks back, especially if that is how they make their blood orange paloma. I don't like wasting it or expecting something different. After that, the interaction felt a little off. At the end of the meal, it also took a while to get our check. We had a private setup on the front patio with unlimited buffet-style food and drinks, and the service was excellent. From my experience, the food here all tastes really good, In association with food, they also, of course, offer beverages. As this is a Gastropub, many of these are alcohol orientated drinks. One of the interesting/curious things I find about this place is that the price of a cup of coffee is the same price as a mimosas. This is quite unusual, I believe. Mostly, mimosas tend to be fairly expensive when you order them at a restaurant. Here, the price of a cup of coffee is five dollars and the price of a mimosa is five dollars. Thus, if you're looking to catch a little morning buzz,, this is a great way to do it. The staff here all seem super nice. They're happy to help you out with whatever you need. The service here is really good. And, they take care of the customers very well. This restaurant is very well designed, and, for the most part, they're seating is well spaced. The one thing I'm not personally in love with is their tables for two. For example, if you go in there with just one other person, they're probably gonna stick you at the small tables that are designed to seat just two people. I don't know, they should do better than that. The tables are very small. And, in some ways, it's kind of hard to enjoy your meal, when it's all stacked onto the table, and there's not much room to move around. That's just me. You can make your own conclusions about that situation. If, on the other hand, you come in there with three or four people, you will be given a much nicer table. And, if you come in there with even more, you're gonna be given one of their very nice boots. I think the way this place is set up, they should really do more for the couples. Because, many times, couples come to a Gastropub, like this to enjoy a little bit more leisure with their meal and drinks than is provided. The ambiance was perfect with low lighting, a great crowd, and an overall pleasant vibe. Our server was very sweet and helpful. When she learned it was our first time, she shared some favorites across entrees and shareables. Everything sounded so good that we decided to go with a few shareables instead. Once again Bosscat did it again! I came to Bosscat again after the amazing food and experience I had last time. Let's start with the service. We had an amazing server, I couldn't remember her name, but she was super sweet, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations on menu items including appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Let's move onto the drink. Our server recommended the pineapple sage elixir described as espolón blanco tequila, pineapple, sage, citrus. She shared that this drink tasted like a dole whip. When it came out, it was the perfect balance of bold, sweet, but flavorful. This drink was on the sweeter side, but you could also taste the tequila. And onto food! For an appetizer we ordered the male butter Brussels which were roasted brussel sprouts, crisped, tossed with a maple sauce, candied pecans and blue cheese. And all I have to say is WOW. The flavors in this dish were remarkable. For our entree we went with the same as last time, the short ribs as they did not disappoint. The short ribs once again were tender enough to cut with a fork. The sauce in top was a peppercorn sauce which was a nice addition of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were also amazing! The service started great but the moment you ask them to fix a mistake in the nicest way and still apologize for the bother. The waitress immediately change their mood. Super friendly staff, awesome vibes, this place is a must! I'll start with the cons: Be prepared to walk as parking spaces during peak hours are scarce. If you have a large group you may get seated on their little patio (Hear all the cars and traffic, no AC and the heater for colder days may not be enough) The good: everything else!! Food is amazing. I had the 2 appetizers on the pictures the Ahi Tuna wraps- make sure to get avocado- which was fresh and delicious! Its a little tangy so if you don't like spicy you'll be fine but if you want spicy then ask for hot sauce on the side. The burger smachies are delish. The bread bun is like a mixture of a pretzel and freshly made bread. The meat had such a good flavor, even after reheating it. I took 2 with me because I was too full from the tuna. We came in as a large group 20+ and they had a space for us within 30mins. The checks were split per table. We decided to have 1 person pay and Zelle them after.
