I went to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations years ago, and I think some of the menu items have changed since then. I still love the decor, there are a lot of unique and interesting items throughout the restaurant. I decided to have a cocktail with dinner since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I ordered the Blood Orange Paloma and my husband had a tequila soda. Given the libations name, I expected the cocktails would be especially delicious and creative, but I was disappointed in both the taste and presentation. My drink tasted more like a regular paloma, and I didn't pick up a blood orange taste. It was topped with a fresh lime, and I think the grapefruit soda overpowered the drink. They also had two tequila blanco options: lalo and espolon. Our favorite item for the night was the burger smashies appetizer. They are three mini smash burgers, with pickles on the side, and they provide mustard and ketchup when you ask. I had the spicy rigatoni and my husband ordered the pan seared salmon. I thought my pasta was good and I liked the ricotta. My husband liked his salmon and he said the greens on the side were delicious. The charred lemon also gave the salmon a nice flavor. Service felt a little mixed during our visit. There were a couple of moments where the waitress came across as a bit sarcastic, though I'm not totally sure if I was reading it right. I think she may have overheard me mention to my husband that I didn't love my drink. When she came to check on it, I said it was fine. I don't really send drinks back, especially if that is how they make their blood orange paloma. I don't like wasting it or expecting something different. After that, the interaction felt a little off. At the end of the meal, it also took a while to get our check. Haven't been here in a while. Carme here with the team for a birthday. Staff is really friendly and attentive. See 34a came by to check constantly and the food came out pretty quick. Very large portions. Unfortunately the menu change again and it's limited. Not sure if the menu is more extensive at night. The highlight was the artichoke spring rolls. Otherwise we were all disappointed with our choices, well except for the birthday boy who enjoyed his burger and chips. We stopped by for Brunch. The restaurant was not busy so we were seated quickly. Our waiter was very nice. I love the decor in here. They were also playing the Champions League Finals on the TVs which was good. I assume they'll play the World Cup games too. We ordered the Gravy Train and the Ham-azing Croissant. Just a warning, the Ham-azing Croissant is HUGE! This is a definitely a dish meant for sharing. They asked if we wanted them to pour the sauce over the croissant or leave it on the side to dip in. We decided to leave it on the side to be dipped. This croissant sandwich was very dense and filling and the cheese sauce was very rich. I been on the hunt to find the best biscuits and gravy in OC. The ones here were ok. I liked the idea of getting these with fried chicken but unfortunately the fried chicken was quite dry and stringy. The biscuits themselves were buttery and the gravy sauce was very savory and had onion chunks. But the dry chicken made the entire dish very hard to eat. After arriving in Irvine and settling into our hotel, my man found a nearby spot where the four of us could enjoy dinner together. The restaurant was dark and stylish, and I immediately liked the vibe. Even though it was crowded for a Thursday night, we were seated within 15 minutes. We each picked a shareable dish to split. Predictably, my daughter chose the mac and cheese. I rolled my eyes -- it's so her -- but it turned out to be the best of the four. Maybe it was the velvety cheese sauce or the golden cracker crust that made it so irresistible, but that mac and cheese was, as she'd say, absolutely bussin'. The next standout was the maple-buttered Brussels sprouts, my man's pick. If all vegetables tasted this good, I'd eat them every day. Candied pecans, maple butter, blue cheese -- how could that not be amazing? Was it healthy? Sus, but definitely worth it. I picked the pig candy for the group, which was outrageously sweet and candy-like. Clearly, this wasn't healthy -- bacon, sugar, and rye whiskey caramel make a trifecta of indulgence. But it was so delicious, I couldn't complain. The sliders were the last shareable we tried. They were fine but didn't stand out -- the meat was a bit dry. I also ordered a cocktail (something pretty and fruity, though I can't remember the name). The bartender nailed it, delivering a delicious drink. My man enjoyed his Negroni. However, our server provided some great context they've intentionally streamlined their offerings to keep prices accessible for their guests. Came here for my friend's baby shower and it was a perfect spot for both dining and hosting events. We had a private setup on the front patio with unlimited buffet-style food and drinks, and the service was excellent. The staff stayed on top of everything, keeping the food replenished and making sure we were good on drinks. Everything was fresh and served hot, and the cocktails on the menu were all delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, the sliders were flavorful, the salad was refreshing, and the chilaquiles surprisingly stayed crispy and full of flavor and shredded meat. I had finished my last chemo at UCI and wanted to meet up with family that had driven and flown for dinner. Loved the restaurant location and the open atmosphere. They have great booth seating on the right hand side, but that's set aside for parties of six. I didn't even ask. The atmosphere is casual. The menu is divided into food on one side and drinks on the other. There were couples and groups, including children, enjoying Sunday brunch. I could hear Sabrina Carpenter and Smash Mouth playing on the overhead speakers. I ordered a mimosa from the classic $5 cocktail menu. It was good and strong. For my main meal, I ordered the short rib chilaquiles, which comes with a side of sour cream. I added an egg for $1.99. It was delicious. The meat was shredded and mixed in with the tortilla chips. Bosscat Kitchen is a fun Gastropub located right off of the Orange Circle. What you will find here is a really nice selection of creatively created food items. And, of course, libations. In terms of their food, all of the items are seemingly created with very fresh ingredients, and they arrive at your table with a very nice presentation. From my experience, the food here all tastes really good, In association with food, they also, of course, offer beverages. As this is a Gastropub, many of these are alcohol orientated drinks. One of the interesting/curious things I find about this place is that the price of a cup of coffee is the same price as a mimosas. This is quite unusual, I believe. Mostly, mimosas tend to be fairly expensive when you order them at a restaurant. Here, the price of a cup of coffee is five dollars and the price of a mimosa is five dollars. Thus, if you're looking to catch a little morning buzz,, this is a great way to do it. The staff here all seem super nice. They're happy to help you out with whatever you need. The service here is really good. And, they take care of the customers very well. This restaurant is very well designed, and, for the most part, they're seating is well spaced. The one thing I'm not personally in love with is their tables for two. For example, if you go in there with just one other person, they're probably gonna stick you at the small tables that are designed to seat just two people. I don't know, they should do better than that. The tables are very small. And, in some ways, it's kind of hard to enjoy your meal, when it's all stacked onto the table, and there's not much room to move around. That's just me. You can make your own conclusions about that situation. If, on the other hand, you come in there with three or four people, you will be given a much nicer table. And, if you come in there with even more, you're gonna be given one of their very nice boots. I think the way this place is set up, they should really do more for the couples. Because, many times, couples come to a Gastropub, like this to enjoy a little bit more leisure with their meal and drinks than is provided. Had a great first visit to Bosscat Kitchen and Libations. Came on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and my friend and I were seated almost immediately, which was a perfect start. The ambiance was perfect with low lighting, a great crowd, and an overall pleasant vibe. Our server was very sweet and helpful. When she learned it was our first time, she shared some favorites across entrees and shareables. Everything sounded so good that we decided to go with a few shareables instead. The spicy chicken and cheese dip was salty, rich and flavorful. The pig candy was one of my favorites, and the maple butter Brussels sprouts were incredible and perfectly sweet. Once again Bosscat did it again! I came to Bosscat again after the amazing food and experience I had last time. Let's start with the service. We had an amazing server, I couldn't remember her name, but she was super sweet, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations on menu items including appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Let's move onto the drink. Our server recommended the pineapple sage elixir described as espolón blanco tequila, pineapple, sage, citrus. She shared that this drink tasted like a dole whip. When it came out, it was the perfect balance of bold, sweet, but flavorful. This drink was on the sweeter side, but you could also taste the tequila. And onto food! For an appetizer we ordered the male butter Brussels which were roasted brussel sprouts, crisped, tossed with a maple sauce, candied pecans and blue cheese. And all I have to say is WOW. The flavors in this dish were remarkable. For our entree we went with the same as last time, the short ribs as they did not disappoint. The short ribs once again were tender enough to cut with a fork. The sauce in top was a peppercorn sauce which was a nice addition of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were also amazing! Finally, the environment. This time was different as we brought a dog. The perk of Bosscat kitchen and libations is that they are pet friendly on the patio. Came here for brunch twice recently and they have changed their brunch menu from before. For one the options to select from seem smaller than before. Bummed they took away the fruity pebble French toast and the steak sandwich off the brunch menu. First time we went since the change I got the steak and eggs plate (which was really good) bc it was either that or the basic breakfast plate since nothing else really called to me. My partner got the breakfast sandwich which he said was okay. Second time we went since the change I again got the delicious steak plate and my partner got the breakfast burrito which he did not care for and stated there was more egg than anything else in there. What a great dinner we had!! This place is always so busy, so we found a Thursday night when it wasn't too crazy, and we had three wonderful menu items. We started with the "Country Bread" which are fresh baked rolls with a sweet topping, with whipped butter. Entrees were "Shrimp + Grits" with creamy gouda cheese grits that would have been great even without shrimp. Also the "Shaved Pork Chop Sandwich" was something I never thought to do, cut thin deli slices and add pork belly plus their own barbecue cabbage slaw on top of a sesame pretzel bun. We ordered some spicy wings, korean fried chicken sliders and short rib grill cheese sandwhich. Everything was packed to go for us. I didnt really care for the sauce of the wings. They were too runny and spicy. But my wife liked them. The short rib grilled cheese was good. The bread was well toasted. Good ratio of short rib to grilled cheese. And the Korean chicken slider was also really good. Tender, juicy with a nice crunch. We also had a peice of matcha cheesecake. This thing was decadent and amazing. Soft, moist, good texture. Instead of just letting him know politely that he was being loud, she spoke to him in a way that felt unnecessary and disrespectful. We came for the cinnamon roll after seeing it online and decided to make a morning of it! We didn't know this ahead of time, but they only made 10 cinnamon rolls and 8 croissants every Saturday and Sunday morning. So make an effort to be there sooner as to later. We got there at ~10:30a on Sunday and were able to get one. Definitely shareable and a top sourdough cinnamon roll without a doubt! My husband and I also split the Short Rib Chilaquiles with 2 eggs and the avocado add-ons. I'm not always the biggest fan of chilaquiles, but these are some of the best I ever had! The chips stayed crisp, the meat and sauce were immaculate, and the eggs were super fluffy. My husband is a bit of a chilaquiles connoisseur and he said they were more like super saucy nachos and therefore not his fav chilaquiles ever. But this is my review, not his, so I'm not taking a star away for that nonsense! Our waitress was Sophia and she was so nice, helpful, and funny! Was super attentive without seeming like she was interrupting or hovering. The location and building are really cool! My husband and I really loved the music and volume. Might be worth noting that they play the explicit versions of songs... which again, we loved! But we also weren't there with children or a big group / trying to talk to people a couple seats away. Hayley was my server and provided personable and perfect service worthy of the Waitress Hall of Fame. I started with some bubbly mineral water before deciding on a glass of wine - Pessimist, a red blend from Napa (a good choice). They had a few lunch specials which weren't on the main menu and I gravitated toward one of those - a BLT with housemade chips. It was later in the afternoon, past the time most people have had lunch, so my order came out quickly. The BLT was magnificent. It's such a simple sandwich but everything on this was perfect. The toasted sourdough bread was tasty and held together well. The lettuce and tomato were fresh with vibrant flavor. The bacon was plentiful, crispy, and exploded with bacony flavor. I'd actually give this place 4.5 stars Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning with a fairly large group. I ordered the short rib chilaquiles (popular item). It was just ok....I'd probably wouldn't order it again. The taste was just ok, could've used a bit more short rib tho. The cinnamon bun is HUUUUGE! No wonder it was under "shareable" part of menu. The cinnamon bun itself was so good! It was crunchy on the outside and soft and warm in the middle. The only complaint is the glaze...that glaze was terrible. Not sure how to describe it, but it was not good. The loco moco was good. The hamburger beef patty wasn't dry. The gravy was flavorful and with the creamy mess of the yolk combined everything together. My daughter got the BLT. She said the bread was nice and crunchy, just the way she likes it. The waffle fries were just enough crunchy and soft on the inside. Service was great! The dinner menu looks good. I'd definitely wanna go back and try the dinner. I love coming here for brunch! Their Country Fried Steak is easily one of the best I've had in the area. Other standouts include the Steak and Eggs, the Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich, and the Chile Verde Breakfast Burrito; you really can't go wrong. The cocktails are fantastic and unique; my personal favorite is the "Breakfast in Bed" shot. It's a simple but punchy mix of bourbon, OJ, and bacon. I've booked the Whiskey Room for group brunches a few times, and the staff is always incredible at taking care of us. Vanny tip: The venue is a cool repurposed liquor store, and the facilities are spotless. Parking is a breeze with a free structure just two blocks away, though you can usually find street parking nearby. read more

We had a family reunion abd it was a private event. Casey communicated with me via email and answered every question I had very promptly. The Whiskey Room sat 12 of us very comfortably, and we could turn down the music to the older folks in our group could hear better. Our server was fantastic and we had plenty of room to put gifts for Mother's Day on the side counters. There are extra chairs in the room so it's easy to move around and visit with all members if the group. The food was great, and drinks were very inexpensive (we had brunch there.
