Calls were returned, the staff was timely, courteous and thoughtful. The bid I received was very competitive and I had high confidence that they would be able to do a good job, on time and on budget. However, I did not personally go through all the listed work items with Marlon. My proxy did half of the items, and the gaps reflected in the bid and I was not comfortable selecting them with such a big disconnect. I will definitely keep them in mind for my next work - and ensure that I personally go through the work areas to ensure clarity on both ends.

They had a tremendous number of positive reviews on other sites and didn't have any complaints that I could find with Virginia DPOR. Lastly, their price was extremely competitive for the roof itself, not so much for a couple of add on projects I had asked to be completed at the same time. This has turned out to be a major mistake. In addition to the roof, I had asked Mr. Ko to replace my gutters and attic fan. On the day of the project, the crew that showed up didn't have an attic fan to replace with my existing fan, nor did they have any idea that this was supposed to be within their scope of work. I had the strong sense that the two gentleman doing the work were contractors themselves, not employees of Mr. Ko, although I didn't ask so cannot confirm that. Additionally, there was no gutters to replace. Because they had brought ridge vents rather than an attic fan, I asked the guys to proceed with the ridge vents and forego the attic fan. While in the middle of the project, I noticed two holes in my roof where squirrels had gotten in and asked the gentleman to patch the holes. They said that they would do that. Fast forward a few days after I had expressed some of my concerns about no gutters nor an attic fan. Mr. Ko said he can have another crew do the gutters on the next day. I specifically told him not to as I had to work and I didn't want any work being performed on my house without me being home. A week later he sent a crew out to install the attic fan without me being home. Now I have an attic fan and ridge vents with negate the value of either. ( google it for some clarification if desired). Additionally, they failed to fully install the attic fan as it isn't hooked up to an electrical supply. Lastly, I have heard squirrels in my attic again yesterday, just two or three weeks after the holes were supposedly patched. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

They came in at the most reasonable price and something about Robert's personality struck me as trustworthy and friendly. So the first job was to replace a skylight - they were able to do so in 1 day. They tell you, smartly, to take art off the walls as the guys come through and I stupidly did not. They knocked one off my wall and had the glass replaced for no charge which was above and beyond IMO. The skylight has had no issues so far in the year I've had it. The second job I hired them for was a roof repair after damage from a winter storm. They again, were a bit lower than the other bids, and worked with my insurance company who had estimated lower than everyone to get my insurance to cover the delta so I only had to pay my deductible. The work again, was done in a day, and they sured up some loose bolts not related to the repair work they were doing, so again, above and beyond IMO. I will continue to use Robert and his team for any roofing issues or enhancements I want and from my two experiences with them, I can highly recommend these guys.

We would like to caution neighbors about our experience with damage repairs from American…read moreRestoration. They contracted to replace our roof and repair the ceiling damage in two bedrooms. Soon after the "completion" of the work, we noticed a new crack and what appeared to be water damage in the same spot in one bedroom. We were concerned that the repair to the roof was faulty, but they resisted having an independent party verify that the new roof was sound before making a second repair of the same ceiling. In connection with replacing our roof, they contracted to replace gutters and downspouts, but replaced only the gutters and claimed that the calculation on the contract was for only enough linear feet to cover the gutters, not the downspouts. Did they think we would check their measurements and realize that the contract covered only gutters, when the line item was "gutters/downspouts"? When we realized that they had just reinstalled the old downspouts and questioned them, they offered to replace the downspouts for a certain dollar figure. When my husband responded that he would consider it, they immediately halved their estimate for the work. In addition, they tore up our landscaping and a neighbor's in bringing a dumpster down our long, narrow driveway and claimed that this was our fault for having such a driveway. We have had major bathroom remodeling done and, recognizing that the driveway is long and narrow, the contractor took the debris up the driveway in a truck, rather than a dumpster. American Restoration brought the dumpster down without warning us that it was coming and would block our driveway. Luckily, one of our cars was away from home when they did this or we would have been stranded through the whole course of the repair. Some years ago we used American Restoration to repair water damage in our basement and thought they did a good job. Not this time.
