My favorite place in the Hamptons. A hidden gem that I always love and recommend. Unbeatable.

It's always crowded, but worth the wait on line...If you're ever out that way in Sag Harbor, New York, this is truly a funky, cool place to stop! We truly enjoy this coastal East End town! Hope to make it back there this summer, but definitely not on a weekend! It never fails to brings me (and my husband) to a happy and peaceful place! The place was busy but not packed -- we were able to grab a cute table over by the windows which had comfy cushions and pillows. I ordered a cappuccino which came out quickly and was nice and hot and strong. There was a lot of great people watching here -- folks getting work done as well as some cute dogs. Taking a look at their Apres menu made me wish I was in town longer or later -- it looks like they have a great food and drink menu at night! There's also a souvenir shop attached to this location if you're in the mood to do a little shopping while you're here. The service was fast and friendly. I'd come back.

Topping Rose House, Bridgehampton: Culinary Highs and Service Lows…read moreRating: (Food: 9.5 | Service: 6) Topping Rose House remains a bit of a Bridgehampton enigma. As a spot we find ourselves returning to a couple of times a year, the kitchen continues to operate at a gold standard, even when the front-of-house seems to be stuck in a bit of a fog. The Food: A Seasonal Symphony If you are coming strictly for the palate, you will not be disappointed. The freshness of the ingredients is palpable: * Oysters: These were pristine--served icy cold and exceptionally fresh. The mignonette was the standout here; perfectly balanced and bright, it elevated the oysters rather than masking them. * Pea Soup: This was a revelation. It tasted as if the peas had been picked just yesterday; it was vibrant, "green," and utterly delightful. * Lobster Roll: While it was admittedly small in stature (especially for the price point), the execution was flawless. It was bright, crunchy, and avoided the heavy mayo-trap that many local spots fall into. The Service: A Comedy of Errors Unfortunately, the gap between the kitchen and the dining room was wide during this visit. While our waitress was personally lovely, the actual mechanics of the service were incredibly frustrated: * Timing Issues: We were offered bread at the start of the meal, yet it didn't grace the table until we were finished eating. * The Water Gap: Our sparkling water sat empty for far too long. Refills were offered, but like the bread, they arrived only after the meal had concluded. * Lack of Proactivity: There was no offer for drink refills throughout the courses. * Accountability: Most disappointing was the lack of acknowledgment. Mistakes happen, but a simple "I'm so sorry for the delay" goes a long way. Instead, the lapses were never addressed or accounted for. The Verdict: Topping Rose House serves some of the most phenomenal, fresh food in the Hamptons. However, when you're paying Bridgehampton prices, you expect the service to match the caliber of the kitchen. We'll likely be back because the pea soup and oysters are hard to quit, but we'll be crossing our fingers for a more attentive experience next time. mi

The staff made us feel valued throughout the entire evening and offered great recommendations that elevated the experience even further.

There was so much history here and the restaurant just hasn't done anything to improve on it. Food is decent, but not worth the price. Service is mixed and uneven. First, the bar has become super sterile and it's lost a lot of its soul. You guys got rid of the wood paneling in the bar, the booths, everything. There was no one at the bar and the bartender kept me waiting for like 10 mins and didn't clean the dirty glasses from the party my before me off the bar. See the picture. It was gross. The steak was good but under-salted. The Brussels sprouts were horrible and the Gigi salad has been massacred. You killed a simple salad. The bread was microwaved nonsense - it came so hot it was inedible and then when it cooled it was so hard to eat...I mean it's bread. Not that hard. The carrot cake was one of the worst I have ever had and you had a good carrot cake. You weren't even making it - you were buying the carrot cake. Just sell that one. This is such a sad thing that happened here. Actually depressing.
