A true borderline review where a half star could possibly be tacked on to those three, though it's tough to tell as my recent trip out east with my wife to Bonfire was definitely middling. Now we don't venture all the way to Amagansett often, but we like to head out to Montauk once a year, and social media presented a cute coffee shop to stop at on the way, Bonfire. Cute could definitely be the word, especially the exterior of the place with some shaded seats on their deck and the small grassy courtyard that encompassed them and the neighboring storefronts. The vibes worked, though many other factors were more iffy. I'll try to focus on the other good options in that the menu of Bonfire is intriguing from their coffee and food options as well as gelato. I'll also say the staff, despite a small snafu (more on that in a sec), were able to take orders and keep things going. I'll even say that on first sip of my coffee I was wowed, but that's just what you see on the surface level. Underneath those positives was a pricier coffee spot with my wife's blueberry whip latte coming in at $11. Between that, a chocolate croissant, and my own latte we spent $27 which is a little much for what we got. Yes, eastern Long Island can be pricy, but dang. As for my aforementioned coffee, I got the Bonfire Latte which combined vanilla, hazelnut, and cardamom flavors to create what started as a truly delicious taste, but after a few sips once the flavor punch wore off, I would've at least expected a coffee kick in there. Honestly, there wasn't much. The real sign this was true was my wife who prefers a little more sweetness than coffee taste in her drinks saying that she couldn't taste any coffee in hers either. Oh and that croissant while soft and flaky, definitely felt like the chocolate could've been a little more melted in to it as I pulled out a whole piece when trying to tear it for my wife. One last item about the croissant was the fact that we ordered it and no one gave it to us. Our coffees came out relatively quickly despite the place being somewhat busy, but we stood and watched a few people who ordered after us get their stuff before I had to ask about the croissant which seemed to have been forgotten about. Oy. Overall, Bonfire Coffeehouse presents itself as a lovely eastern location to get some morning brews and then some, but perhaps it's not as fantastic as the facade it showcases. I'd like to try them one more time in the future, but that'll be a long time off (probably not til next summer) and that's if I feel like it's worth the price and I'm willing to believe the lack of coffee flavor was a fluke. Went there for breakfast with sister, got 1 bacon/egg & cheese we split, 2 iced mocha drinks and 1 crossant. Total= 43.00 ! They charged me 1.25 xtra for the milk and 50 cents for the ice! Not to mention the sign said $8 for the drink when in fact they charge $9.75 because of the xtra charges, why not just say it's $9.75? And the sandwich could have been better, it used to be. I don't think I'll be back there any time soon, I'm not a wealthy person on Vay-cay who can spend like that, it was shocking! I'm sorry but the prices are getting sinful around here and it's sad because I love to eat out and have done so often but lately, not so much. :-( read more

we loved this shop. The gelato is delicious. There are so many more things to get in here besides coffee. The staff is awesome. We were able to try almost all of the flavors of gelato they had before selecting our choices. Both me and my fella got Affogato with two flavors of gelato and a double shot of espresso. We each got a biscotti. There's plenty of places to sit inside and outside. You're getting a very high quality product for very reasonable price. Whenever I'm in this area again, I will definitely be stopping by here. read more

This place has somehow reinvented the meaning of "order ahead." I ordered online, waited over 30 minutes for a large cold brew, and had to ask six times before anyone acted like my order existed. The coffee is quite so with every type of milk you can imagine including nondairy; I went with the pistachio! you can bring your own cup . The service is excellent. The baked goods are lovely.. it's not overrun by tourists, they have a nice bathroom. And you can fill your water bottle water on an urn ready for the thirsty. They are in a small village square so you'll park elsewhere and stroll over. Once you arrive, you can also sit outside in the good old summer time. Enjoy! read more

As I was walked down Amagansett's Main Street, I saw their sign for Gelato and immediately knew what I had to do. As I followed the sidewalk path, I noticed the abundance of outdoor seating as well as the beautiful flowers all along the way. Walking in, the interior was bright and airy. As I approached the gelato station, the young gentleman behind the counter immediately offered me a sample. After tasting the coffee gelato, I ordered one on an old school sugar cone. I'm about to embark on a fast so this was the "perfect" way to satisfy my cravings before hand. The gelato really hit the mark, absolutely delicious and perfect on a hot summer day! And honestly, at $6, it was cheaper than I anticipated, given the location. read more

Absolutely incredible, with the best pastries, cakes, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and platters. I literally bought out the store. 10/10 highly recommended, I would however get there early. we showed up at 9 AM, it was packed by 9:30 AM. The employees were great, they were sweet and so informative. This was one of the best places to eat in East Hamptons. I will be going back for sure. I got a BEC on a croissant, it was delicious. New place with new possibilities of getting food in the Hamptons. Epic fail. Coffee- ordered a latte extra hot no foam. My cup was light as a feather. Clearly the barista doesn't know how to heat the milk without creating foam. The espresso was light and just a hint of coffee flavor. Food: got a croissant, a Bella Donna veg panini and a veg and Gruyère cheese frittata. Croissant was served ice cold and it was dense with no layers of buttery goodness. Frittata had potential but it was underwhelming. Veg panini according to the menu: Panini made on Rosemary Focaccia Bread Marinated Portobello, Vegan Cheese Roasted Red Peppers, Roasted Tomatoes, Micro Greens, Basil, Vegan Calabrian Chili Aioli, Vegan Pesto What I got was grilled veg, shredded cheese on a brioche style bread with rosemary bits sprinkled on top. barely saw a panini press despite being warm when I received it. Again the flavor was there but it just fell short. Seriously. If you say foccacia, I'm looking forward to a pillowy soft olive oil bread with rosemary. Look, maybe u guys were having an off day. 1st time at this new spot. Enjoyed my coffee & avocado toast. The staff was friendly, bilingual & prompt with my order. The music & decor was relaxing, as well as the cozy seating. I will say that it was very hard to find. There is no visible sign off the street or even after pulling into the huge parking lot. It's in the back to the right. You have to walk in between the building to see it. Worth the stop. It was tasty. read more

Rainy day, after the Am O'gansett parade I stopped in with a friend. They weren't very busy, guess everyone stopped in to the full service restaurants on Main Street. This place is a gem, lots of choices for light meals, I personally had the Soup and Sandwich special, just $12 for a wonderful grilled cheese and a cup of Broccoli Cheddar Soup; filling and warm on a chilly, rainy day. Lots of choices for sandwiches, goodies, beverages, etc. Definitely worth it to stop in here! read more
