I had wanted to try balayage for such a long time, and eventually go for a more drastic blonde look, but was always too afraid it was going to look bad or not colored right to look good with my skin tone/other dark features. I found 2w Hair Bar after polling other folks in a neighborhood Facebook group about where they go for balayage and color services. Several recommended this place. And now I see why! I've been to Josh twice so far in the last 6 months or so - the first time he did an all-over hand-painted caramel balayage, which I LOVED. I've never gotten more compliments on my hair (by total strangers) than I did after I got that done. The second time, we moved on to an all-over foil and lightened it up even more. I was suuuuper scared but figured it's just hair and I could always change it if I hated it. But I loved it! A close (but very opinionated) friend of mine said I have a "blonde bombshell" look going on and I knew I made a good choice. Love the decor of this place - it's updated, on trend, bright and clean. They offer coffee/tea/water while you're getting your service done so that's a nice touch. Maybe some bubbly in the future, guys? :) It's a popular place to get hair done, so it might be a little bit of a wait to snag an appointment, but it's worth it. It's hard to find a stylist who you can trust with your hair but I'm glad I gave Josh a shot. Some of my highlights on the back was burned. I am also unsatisfied with my haircut. The salon owner rushed the entire process and left my hair wet because i didn't ask for blow dry. At the end of the sesssion I was charged $25 for having long hair. So I ended up paying $100. The extra fee for long hair wouldn't bother me if I received proper service. Anyway I left the salon without saying anything since my hair was wet and the blonde highlights looked more saturated. Once it dried and I saw the actual color I was so upset and called the salon for a redo. She agreed that I pay $25 for product fee. She claimed that thats what I wanted and it looks nice. It would look better if I had blow dry. When I didn't agree and hung up the phone she called back and offered me to apply toner for free. I believe toner itself can't fix this hair. I wouldn't risk coming here for major color changes. It might seem affordable at first but might end up like me and have to pay way more to fix it later.

Margie was the one who cut my hair.. she acutally was done for the day but waited for me.. I had the best hair cut ever and the way she blew out my hair was amazing.. My husband loved it.. he said its nice and simple and not overdone... Blend would blow out my hair and it always looked like I had a helmet on.. She was excellent! She gave me exactly what I wanted and was very cool and patient. The second time I got my haircut by Sue, this was a very polar experience. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and asked just the top of my head to resemble the style and my sides to be an even shave. She ignored this and before I could say anything else she began chipping away from the top to make a fade which I really did not want. She was also not gentle whatsoever. She then continued to talk over me, run to take a call, run back, take a hunk out of my hair, and when all was said and done she used a gel that immediately flaked up. The gel could absolutely just not be compatible with my hair type but it just felt all a little unprofessional. I'm not going back, and if you're getting a cut that involves shaving, I don't recommend you go in either.

Well over a week prior, The responding police officer instructed the salon to return my coat immediately and made it clear there was no basis to accuse me of taking anything. Despite that instruction, my coat was still withheld, and I was asked to follow additional steps that were unnecessary and burdensome. 2. I returned to the salon multiple times during your posted business hours to pick up my coat, but the staff refused to return it and repeatedly insisted that I could only speak to -- and only retrieve my coat from -- the owner. 3. When the owner later insisted on specific pickup times, I explained that I work out of town and am not available during most salon hours or during the limited times when the owner was present. That is why I had already attempted to pick it up several times while you were open. 4. I informed the owner that the receptionist spoke to me in a rude and accusatory manner. The response I received was, "she's young and doesn't know how to speak to customers." No apology was offered at that time, or during any of the several calls and conversations I had with the owner. The only apology I received was after this public post. 5. After repeated attempts on my part, the officer ultimately had to retrieve my coat herself. That was the only point at which the issue was resolved. 6. I want to thank the West Milford Police Department for their professionalism and assistance in resolving the matter. I am sharing my experience because the community deserves an accurate understanding of what occurred.
