It was late Friday afternoon in Deadwood and my car would not start. I opened the hood to check…read morethe battery connections. The connections were secure but I discovered that in addition to the electric fault the water pump was leaking. I called South Side Service and explained my predicament. Pat told me that if I could get the car to him he would look at it. I was able to push start the car and drive to his shop. Pat called around to locate a water pump and starter without success. There were no parts available. Not even in Rapid City. We drove the car up onto the hoist and Pat agreed to look at it Saturday. Pat called me Saturday morning and stated that he got the starter working by striking with a hammer to free the brushes. Not a permanent 'fix', but it started the car. Bravo! He was able to stop the water pump leak with a bottle of radiator stop leak. Another temporary 'fix' but good enough for me to try returning to Minneapolis. I stopped at the Chevy dealer in Rapid City to inquire about parts availability. The dealer also stated that there were no parts in the entire region. I continued on to Minneapolis without any problem. The point of this review is to commend Pat of South Side Service for doing what he could on a Saturday. Thank you, Pat. Lee

I made an appointment and Ashley, I apologize if I remember her name wrong, welcomed me. I'm handicapped and too short to get into my sister-in-law's truck as I forgot my portable step. Ashley brought out a tire rim they used for a step stool and it worked perfectly! She even let us take it with us so we could do errands while they did maintenance on the van. She called and gave me an update on the work and also called to let me know they were done. This shop is the best! They've helped my sister-in-law with two issues on her truck at the last minute and still got her in and diagnosed the problem.

Previous day I could not stand it any longer so I, stopped by a Goodyear store. They rotated my tires within 30 minutes. What I was told by the tech did not make sense leaving out the rotation of the drivers side rear. So Thursday (Scott) "who told me to return Thursday got me into the shop, callled me outside to my truck, and stated that the rotation that was done would be something similar to what he would do putting the front tires on drive side (passenger side) and do exactly what was done. SCOTT seems to be a very dry no nonsense person, but after a few minutes of conversation about tire rotation and his experience, I was glad I confirmed that tire rotation was done even though he didn't do it. there was no charge for looking at my Dully. While I was at training a groundhog chewed through my wiring harness. A dog got out and tried to get the ground hog and chewed up the bumper and damaged paint on other panels. I was never contacted about the damage and the exhaust was never fixed until I was back and they gave me the car back with damages never being fixed. Sent the car back to get the grill fixed and so the bumper would stay on properly and headlights would mount. Called frequently and got ignored or told "we don't have time". After months of poor service and quality I got tired of playing games. Car still has damaged paint to hood, bumper and fairings. Lack of integrity and responsibility.

He is one of the most honest and hard working mechanics I have ever met. I didn't realize it until I got the bill but he came in under his estimate and passed those savings to us (several hundred dollars). He kept me informed on the progress and showed and explained all the repairs that needed to be done. I wish he was closer to my home, I would use him for all my auto repairs. There were some waves due to wind but we stayed close to shore. I spoke to the owner at the marina. She was super friendly. Price was decent, like $60 for two hours for three kayaks. I wouldn't pay much more than that, but it was fun to try out. It was easy to get in and out at the marina. The lake is beautiful. There is a nice public beach that has a day use fee. We are definitely going back to rent a pontoon.
