I then had to call for my first visit. We are in our 70s and just bought our small retirement home and wanted to protect our investment. When 2 men arrived my husband answered the door and one man, who I now understand is the son of the owner (his Mother). He was extremely blustery and very loud-walked into my house like he owned it, never acknowledged me (would only acknowledge my husband) and the first thing he said was the secretary (that is what he called her; I later discovered that the "secretary" is his Mother and the owner of the company) did not charge you enough for your contract. He seemed very angry about this. They went under the house to change the filter and left with no discussion with us about the condition of our unit. I had 3 other contractors working in my kitchen and they heard the abusive way they treated us and were very surprised. In the afternoon I called them back because we heard a whining noise that we had not heard before. I told the man that answered my phone how rudely we were treated and instead of trying to help me, he wanted to argue with me. He explained they were short one employee and other things which I didn't need to know and he might have to come out, but it would be after 5:00. In a very short amount of time the same guy who was here before (the son) returned and fussed at me saying he wasn't rude and he said his helper said he wasn't. I told him about the 3 contractors in the kitchen that verified he was pretty rough. I felt accosted; his behavior was aggressive and upsetting. A very disturbing and upsetting experience for two senior citizens.

Curtis came out to rental premises do a small job, which admittedly they performed. However, the…read moreservice call was arranged by landlord, and landlord specifically arranged to be invoiced at landlord's address for the service. No invoice came to landlord at the mailing address provided, or to the tenants at the service address. Curtis has now haled our tenant into court. Incompetent, is what we call this. Never again is the likelihood that landlord will hire Curtis for any other work.

They took time to explain the equipment and their installation decisions and answer all our questions. Although working hard on a super hot day, they laughed and joked and were fun to have around as they worked in the hot attic, climbed ladders, crawled under a deck, and drilled through a basement wall. By 2:30 PM, we still hadn't heard anything, so I called the office and was told the plumber would be here. 4:00 PM came and went with no arrival, so I called again. I was told the plumber must be tied up and that she would check the status. At that point, I told her not to bother. We completely understand that unexpected issues can delay a plumber -- that's not the problem. The issue is the lack of basic courtesy. A simple phone call to reschedule would have been appreciated. Instead, I sat at home for four hours waiting on a no‑show. It was frustrating, inconvenient, and highly unprofessional. Based on this experience, I would not recommend calling them.

I will leave it to you to decide whether you think they are incompetent or they ripped me off... or both. I would never use them again nor would I recommend them. They are not trustworthy. I can't have people IN YOUR HOUSE who are not trustworthy. And I can't do business with people who think that I am too stupid to ask questions. It's now 6 months later and the same issue is happening again. The new HVAC company is telling me that the new unit is fried because it was incorrectly wired. The new outdoor unit that they installed is incompatible with the indoor unit so the computer can't speak with the other one. It's also too big for my duct work, so it can't work and has to be replaced.
