I'm pretty sure the tech's name was Tommy and he was extremely helpful and friendly. He also took the time to explain the issue and what he did to fix it.

Ends up they come out again for no charge. A different tech came and told me that wire did need to be connected and when he did all was well. He told me the connection was very loose so he had to recrimp wire to make tight then left saying sorry this happened. As I said b4 when I connected wire it was very tight fitting. I believe 1st tech left wire barely connected so eventually it would come loose as it did Problem is if I did not catch this problem I could of been charged for a communication circuit board which would have been very expensive. The first tech knew that the wire had to be very tight to work properly and did not do so. So an unsuspecting customer could potentially have had to pay an expensive repair charge. Beware

The next week we had a heat spell and my heat pump could not keep up with the outdoor temperatures. I also had their sales person visit for a bid on a new high efficiency heat-pump. He explained that my problem was that old heat-pumps lose efficiency over time. I had a second HVAC business owner visit for a second bid on a new system. He determined my refrigerant leaked and I was 6 pounds low. I realized I had a contract and they already had my money, but I hoped they would accept responsibility for their mistakes and graciously return me. The dispatcher seemed contrite and empathetic, but she told me it was not their policy to provide refunds. Still she asked her management and they said they would not refund any money.

This time it was our thermostat and regulating our heat with the thermostat. Blue Mountain has a truly remarkable technician. A true Keeper! The only bad thing is although we originally scheduled an appt MONTHS ago it was rescheduled by the office; always on THE DAY of service; approx. 4-5 times. Very disappointing. We've been loyal customers since we bought our house 2017. I used to LOVE this company. Somehow this company has changed within the past 18ths- 24mnths. Sadly, NOT for the better. * The first time, they sent out a technician that was requested for the yearly check up for our heating... they sent out someone that had NO knowledge of the Oil heater we have that they installed. Said he was here to check the air conditioner. NOPE!!! Technician 5 's. If I had 10 's to give him I would Company & all the rescheduling 1-2

At the conclusion of the visit their technician said everything checked out okay. The next week we had a heat spell and my heat pump could not keep up with the outdoor temperatures. Despite a setting of 73 deg, the temperature would climb to 80 or 81 by late afternoon and would stay that way until at least 11:00 PM for the week of the heat spell. Two weeks later I had an appointment with their sales rep to get a bid on a new system because mine was 14 years old and I was interested in a modern VFD controlled high efficiency heat pump. The sales person explained my problem during the heat wave was because old heat pumps lose their efficiency over time. After getting Blue Mountain's bid I decided I should get a second bid from another local HVAC service company. The second HVAC owner came to my house to provide a proposal for a new heat pump and told me my problem was likely low refrigerant. He recognized that I owned a make and model that was notorious for leaking. He filled it with 6 pounds of refrigerant and estimated it was down to about ¼ its capacity. You can see by the picture with his tank that I received a 6 pound fill. Immediately much cooler air was flowing out my floor vents. Within an hour my house was cooled to 73 degrees during the heat of the day. My system continued to work well for the following month until it was replaced. Because I had such poor service by Blue Mountain, I called them and requested a full $200 refund explaining how I did not get the obvious service I needed (more refrigerant), and I was misinformed by their technician and sales person. I realized we had a contract and they already had my money, but I hoped they would accept responsibility for their mistakes and graciously return the money. The dispatcher seemed contrite and empathetic, but she told me it was not their policy to provide refunds, but she would talk to management and explain what happened. After a week I did not get a call back so I emailed her. The next day I received the following response: I apologize for the events that happened. I can cancel the maintenance agreement for you but unfortunately, we do not provide refunds for memberships.
